A Guideline for Evaluating EIS Software Packages

In the development of executive information systems(EIS) the selection of an appropriate software package as a system building tool is regarded as a key technology. This paper attempts to shed some light on the evolving field of EIS software packages and provides a helpful guideline for selecting the most suitable product by addressing significant considerations. A framework is presented that includes a six-step evaluation process : need analysis, team building, vendor survey, identification of decision criteria, and building an evaluation model and its verification. The major evaluation criteria of the full-featured software include : special functionality, reporting, graphics, decision support capability use friendliness, general functionality, physical requirements, communication linkage, vendor support, cost related factors, performance, and documentation capability. An illustrative model using the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) method is also discussed to prove the appropriateness of our approach.
Prioritization of Domain Dependent KR Techniques Using the Combined AHP

To provide an appropriate knowledge representation technique dependent on a particular domain, we consider the combined analytic hierarchy process (CAHP). This is an extended method of the conventional AHP which is useful when two different expert groups are involved. Our problem domain is confined to human resource management including such major activities as planning, selection, placement, compensations, performance evaluation, training, and labor-management relations. We prioritize rules, frames, semantic nets, and predicate logic representation techniques best suited to each and all domains through an exploratory study.

본 연구에서는 휴대폰 음악서비스의 효과성을 밝히는 것이 목적이다. 효과성을 비용대비 혜택으로 정의한다. 문헌고찰과 예비조사를 통하여 초기 비용 및 혜택 항목을 도출한다. 비용 항목에는 음악파일의 가격, 플레이어가격, 음악서비스 이용요금이 포함된다. 혜택항목은 음악서비스가 주는 혜택인 즐거움, 스트레스 해소, 노래연습과 이동통신서비스가 주는 혜택인 이동성, 접근성으로 구분된다. 휴대폰 음악서비스 유형을 벨소리, 통화연결음, 음악 파일 다운로드로 분류한다. 휴대폰 음악서비스 이용자를 대상으로 실증적 조사를 실시하고, 요인분석을 통하여 유의한 분석 항목과 문항들을 도출한다. 그리고 요인 항목별로 민감도 분석을 수행하여 휴대폰 음악서비스의 효과성을 증진시킬 수 있는 대안을 제시한다. 본 연구 결과, 통화연결음과 벨소리는 효과성이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 특히 통화연결음은 벨소리보다 효과성이 높았다, 파일 다운로드 서비스는 효과에 비하여 비용이 높아 전반적인 효과성은 낮았다. 따라서 휴대폰 음악서비스의 전체 효과성을 높이기 위해서는 음악파일의 구매 비용을 일정부분 낮출 필요가 있는 것으로 나타났다. The objective of this paper is to identify the effectiveness of mobile phone music services. We define the effectiveness as benefits/costs that mobile phone music services give us. Initial factors related to cost and benefit are derived through prior research. The type of mobile phone music services is classified into ringtone, ring-back tone, and music file downloading. An exploratory survey was used to gather the data for this study. Respondents rates each statement on a seven-point Likert-type scale. We perform a factor analysis and statistical analysis to derive significant factors and items. Through a sensitivity analysis, this paper suggest a plan to increase the effectiveness of mobile phone music services by each factor. The result shows that ring-back tone service and ringtone service are both effective. Particularly the ringback tone service is more effective than the ringtone service. The downloading service is not effective because the cost value is higher than the benefit value. We can conclude it is necessary to decrease the purchasing price of music files in order to increase the overall effectiveness of mobile phone music services.
