      • Art Education Graduate Students’ Responses to Using TeachArt Wiki, Taiwan as a Social Platform for Online Collaborative Learning

        이 연구는 타이완에서 2009 년부터 2010 년까지 TeachArt Wiki 라 불리는 범국가적, 범학교적, 범학문적 협동학습 프로젝트에 관한 것이다. 이 프로젝트의 목표는 타이완의 한 대학교에서 미술교육 석사학위과정 학생들로 하여금 협동 인터넷 기반 TeachArt Wiki 를 활용하여 박물관 디지털 고문서들을 탐색함으로써 미술을 가르치고 배우는 데 잠재성을 고찰하여 미술교육 연구와 논문 그리고 편집을 위한 지속적인 온라인 자료로서 이 웹사이트를 개발하게 하도록 하기 위한 것이었다. 타이완학생들은 한 예술가와 주제에 대한 박물관 워크시트를 만들기 위해 타이완 국립 예술박물관에서의 디지털 고증자료를 사용했는데, 이것이 TeahArt Wiki Taiwan 웹사이트에서 협동적 상호교류를 위한 Web 2.0 도구인 Wiki 를 사용하는 다른 학생들에 의해 검토되었다. 이 TeahArt Wiki 버전은 타이완 미술과 문화를 발전시켰고 미술교육, 미술사, 박물관교육 전공 학생들간의 국제적 교류를 위해 이 웹사이트가 가치가 있음을 깨닫도록 해주었다. 이 글은 타이완 National Changhua University of Education (NCUE)의 미술학부내에 미술교육 석사학위 프로그램에 “박물관교육이론과 실제” 교과목 강의에서 박물관 워크시트를 만들기 위해 TeachARt Wiki 를 사용하였던 14 명의 미술교육 석사학위과정 학생들의 반응을 양적/질적 연구로 분석한 결과이다. 또한 이 글은 TeachArt Wiki 라는 타이완 온라인 기반을 활용하는 것이 어떻게 그 학생들의 미술 학습과 글쓰기를 향상시킬 수 있는지를 보여준다. 연구와 논문쓰기와 편집에 협동적으로 수행할 수 있도록 함으로써, 특히, 미술 작품에 입문하는 것을 쓰고 타이완국립예술박물관의 디지털 고문서자료를 탐색하는 동안 박물관 워크시트를 만들어내는데 TeachArt Wiki 를 활용하는 것이 도움이 되었는가를 밝혀준다.

        The Changing Nature of Art Museum Education

        To survive today, museums must meet the challenge of competing with other leisure activities of visitors in our society. They live in a world of instant communication, where millions of bits of information flood their daily lives. This growing technology has also changed people’s behaviors in public settings, and ways of viewing visual images in museums. Thus, because the art museum is no longer just a quiet place for contemplation, how museums communicate with and educate visitors must change and expand. Therefore, this study has emphasized the educational role and nature of the contemporary museum, which has shifted from an object-centered to a visitor-centered approach. It discusses how this change and the application of technology have influenced the characteristics of contemporary art and affected the social role of museum curators. The design thinking for creating an engaging and participatory exhibition is presented to illustrate the importance of fostering museum visitors’ interactive learning. Finally, this study offers examples of interactive strategies that are practiced and have been applied to contemporary artworks and exhibitions in museums in Taiwan, the United States, and Singapore.

        미술관 교육의 성격 변화

        오늘날 박물관이 생존하려면 방문객들이 가진 우리 사회에 존재하는 다른 여가 활동들과 경쟁해야 한다. 방문객들은 수백만 비트의 정보가 일상생활에 넘쳐나는 즉각적인 커뮤니케이션의 세계에 살고 있다. 이렇게 기술이 성장함에 따라 공공장소에서 사람들의 행동과 박물관에서 시각 이미지를 보는 방식이 변화하였다. 따라서 미술관은 더 이상 명상을 위한 조용한 공간이 아니기 때문에, 방문객들과 의사소통하고 그들을 교육시키는 방법은 변화되고 확장되어야 한다. 그러므로 이 연구는 현대 미술관의 교육적 역할과 성격을 강조했다. 이는 작품 중심에서 방문자 중심 접근 방식으로 변경된 것이다. 이 변화와 기술의 적용이 어떻게 현대 미술의 특성에 영향을 미치고 박물관 큐레이터의 사회적 역할에 영향을 주었는지에 대하여 논의한다. 매력적이고 참여적인 전시회를 창조하기 위한 디자인은 박물관 관람객들과 상호작용적인 학습을 조성하는 것의 중요성을 설명하기 위해 제시되었다. 마지막으로 본 연구는 타이완, 미국, 싱가포르의 박물관에서 현대 미술 작품 및 전시회에 실제로 행해지고 적용된 상호작용 전략의 사례를 제공한다.

        Cerebral Venous Reflux and Dilated Basal Ganglia Perivascular Space in Hypertensive Intracerebral Hemorrhage

        Background and Purpose Cerebral venous flow alterations potentially contribute to age-related white matter changes, but their role in small vessel disease has not been investigated. Methods This study included 297 patients with hypertensive intracerebral hemorrhages (ICH) who underwent magnetic resonance imaging. Cerebral venous reflux (CVR) was defined as the presence of abnormal signal intensity in the dural venous sinuses or internal jugular vein on time-of-flight angiography. We investigated the association between CVR, dilated perivascular spaces (PVS), and recurrent stroke risk. Results CVR was observed in 38 (12.8%) patients. Compared to patients without CVR those with CVR were more likely to have high grade (>20 in the number) dilated PVS in the basal ganglia (60.5% vs. 35.1%; adjusted odds ratio [aOR], 2.64; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.25 to 5.60; P=0.011) and large PVS (>3 mm in diameter) (50.0% vs. 18.5%; aOR, 3.87; 95% CI, 1.85 to 8.09; P<0.001). During a median follow-up of 18 months, patients with CVR had a higher recurrent stroke rate (13.6%/year vs. 6.2%/year; aOR, 2.53; 95% CI, 1.09 to 5.84; P=0.03) than those without CVR. Conclusions CVR may contribute to the formation of enlarged PVS and increase the risk of recurrent stroke in patients with hypertensive ICH.

Due to the effect of the Climate Change, the world has experienced an uneven distribution of rainfall in recent years, cause of floods or droughts. A series drought broke out in Taipei city gave chance to protect our county and test our reliabilities to citizen. This developments but has also realize the agricultural water should cooperate effectively shift dial [2], active water conservation ordinance relaxed, provide valuable water resources. Water utilities in response to the challenges of extreme drought, should face the New thinking that the difference between the price of water upon request, considering distinguish the dry season and the rainy season in different water, and the water does not hike the basic livelihood of the people; to consider the idea of building “Our sponge cities sponge Taiwan”; avoid low tariff wasted water, or the use of reasonable price adjustments after yearly, water problems can be solved in Taipei area; contributed to the dry season to strengthen water conservation and carbon reduction to achieve the effect or open consumptive water use of large household[2] and strengthen told: the key to sustainable development of water resources, “NO WATER NO FUTURE”.

      • Creatine Kinase (CK)-MB-to-Total-CK Ratio: a Laboratory Indicator for Primary Cancer Screening

        Background: For the determination of creatine kinase (CK)-MB, the immunoinhibition method is utilized most commonly. However, the estimated CK-MB activity may be influenced by the presence of CK isoenzymes in some conditions like cancer. Thus, a CK-MB-to-total-CK ratio more than 1.0 could be found in such a situation. The study aimed to explore the relationship of cancer to high CK-MB-to-total-CK ratio. Materials and Methods: From January 2011 to December 2014, laboratory data on all CK-MB and total CK test requests were extracted at Far Eastern Memorial Hospital (88,415 requests). Patients with a CK-MB-to-total-CK ratio more than 1.0 were registered in this study. Clinical data including tumor location, tumor TNM stage and metastatic status were also collected. Results: A total of 846 patients were identified with a CK-MB-to-total-CK ratio more than 1.0. Of these, 339 (40.1%) were diagnosed with malignancies. The mean CK-MB-to-total-CK ratio was significantly higher in malignancy than in non-malignancy ($1.35{\pm}0.28$ vs $1.25{\pm}0.23$, p<0.001) groups. The most frequent malignancy with a CK-MB-to-total-CK ratio more than 1.0 was colorectal cancer ($1.42{\pm}0.28$, 16.5%, n=56), followed by lung cancer ($1.38{\pm}0.24$, 15.9%, n=54) and hepatocellular carcinoma (14.5%, n=49). Higher CK-MB-to-total-CK ratios in hematological malignancies ($1.44{\pm}0.41$)were also noted. Additionally, the CK-MB-to-total-CK ratio was markedly higher in advanced stage malignancy than in early stage ($1.37{\pm}0.26$ vs. $1.29{\pm}0.31$, p=0.014) and significantly higher in liver metastasis than in non-liver metastasis ($1.48{\pm}0.30$ vs. $1.30{\pm}0.21$, p<0.001). Conclusions: The CK-MB-to-total-CK ratio is an easily available indicator and could be clinically utilized as a primary screening tool for cancer. Higher ratio of CK-MB-to-total-CK was specifically associated with certain malignancies, like colorectal cancer, lung cancer and hepatocellular carcinoma, as well as some cancer-associated status factors such as advanced stage and liver metastasis.

        Photographs, Memmories, and Self-identity: The Formation of Self-image by a Female Graduate Student

        Many memories are associated with photographs that serve as concrete objects on the surface for witnessing a vanished moment. For the viewers, a photograph not only grasps the moment they want to keep but also freezes the time to be still and embody the memory inside the frame by pressing the shutter. Since photographs each have a unique pattern to represent part of the viewers’ past, they should be interpreted them from various viewpoints. In this paper, we explore how a particular viewer, Weian, who has a college art background, interpreted the self-portrait photographs she selected from her childhood till her college period to participate in this study. Through a process of interpretation and meaning-making of her selected visual images, we inquired how Weian’s self-identity is constructed and analyze how she shapes how she looks at and analyzed the elements that affect her interpretation of the photographs.
