        <최척전>에 나타난 이합(離合)의 다중구조 양상과 그 의미

        <최척전(崔陟傳)>은 명종 말년에 태어나 선조·광해군·인조 대에 정치 활동을 했던 조위한(趙緯韓;1567~1649)이 1621년에 창작한 작품이다. 조위한은 현곡(玄谷), 또는 소옹(素翁)이란 호로 불렸으며 당쟁과 잦은 전란으로 인해 치열한 삶을 살았다. 이러한 질곡의 삶은 작품에 고스란히 응집되어 표현되었다. 조위한은 임진왜란을 직접 경험하였다. 그는 전란 중에 어머니와 아내, 어린 딸을 잃었다. 심지어 신혼 생활 중이던 동생의 처까지 순절하는 것을 보았다. 이산의 체험뿐 아니라 의병이 되어 왜적을 물리치는 일에도 참여하고, 또 명나라 군사들과도 교우하며 전장에서 몸으로 고통과 맞섰다. 약탈로 인한 빈곤과 기아, 포로와 이산, 여성 문제 등은 비단 현곡만이 아닌 조선의 모든 백성에게 상처로 남았다. 현실의 상처는 <최척전>에 그대로 표현되었다. 최척과 가족은 전쟁의 화를 피하기 위해 장소를 불문하고 피난생활을 하며 만남과 이별을 반복한다. 이들은 조선과 중국, 해상 등을 오가며 가족, 조선인, 타국인에 이르기까지 많은 사람들을 만난다. 이러한 만남의 양상은 사건의 도화선이 되기도 하고, 위기를 해결하는 실마리가 되기도 한다. 이에 본 논문에서는 조위한이 전란 경험을 바탕으로 창작한 <최척전>에 나타나는 이합(離合)에 주목하여 논의하였다. 먼저 2장에서는 조위한의 생애를 통해 그의 삶에 나타나는 사별(死別)과 별리(別離)의 정서를 살폈다. 3장에서는 작품의 다중구조를 통해 중첩된 이합(離合)의 양상을 분석하고, 이를 통해 작가의식을 읽어보았다. 4장에서는 <최척전>에 나타나는 이합의 문학사적 의미를 확인하였다. 작품의 이해를 높이고 그 안에 담겨 있는 작자의 의식을 읽어 내기 위해 본 논문에서 시도한 이합의 의미를 살피는 작업은 적절한 시도였다고 생각한다. 또한 조위한의 <최척전>은 임진왜란을 배경으로 주인공인 최척과 옥영의 만남과 이별, 전쟁으로 인한 가족의 이산, 민중의 고단한 삶의 여정 등을 복합적으로 그려낸 작품임을 확인할 수 있었다. Multiple-structured pattern and the meaning of meeting and separation described in Choicheok-jeon Kim, Cheong-Ah Choicheok-jeon is written by Wui-han, Jo(1567~1649) in 1621 who was born in latter years of Myeonjong`s ruling and had engaged in politic activities through Seonjo, Gwangheagun, and Injo`s ruling. His pen name was Hyeon-gok or So-ong. He had lived fiercely going through party strife and wars whose harsh experience is reflected in his book condensedly. Wui-han, Jo experienced Imjin War in which he lost his mother, wife and young daughter. Even, he had to watch his sister-in-law dying for her chastity. In addition to losing his family, he joined the volunteered civilian army and fought against Japanese enemies in battle fields together with allied troops of dynasty Meng. Poverty, famine, POW, separated families, and women`s issues from being looted at war are left as pain in all Chosun people`s mind. The pain in real life is reflected in Choicheok-jeon. Choicheok and his family were separated and back together repeatedly fleeing from the war. They encountered their family members, Chosun people, and people from the other countries while wandering everywhere from Chosun to China. Those kinds of meeting sometimes became triggers of special events or clues of resolution for them. Therefore, this thesis is mainly focusing on meeting and separation described in Choicheok-jeon written by Wui-han, Jo based on his experience of the war. First of all, In chapter 2, the sentiment of separation by death and parting in his life are spotlighted. Also, the pattern of overlapped meeting and separation is analyzed through the multiple structures in chapter 3. Furthermore, it enablesus to read the writer`s idea. Finally, the literary-historical meaning of meeting and separation described in Choicheok-jeon is verified in chapter 4. The attempt to study the meaning of meeting and separation in order to understand writer`s idea is believed to be an appropriate trial. It is concluded that Choicheok-jeon describes the meeting and separation between Choicheok and Okyoung, family separation at the war and people`s tough lives from multiple points of view during Imjin War.

        재생 브라켓의 전단접착강도에 관한 비교 연구

        본 연구는 열을 이용한 금속 브라켓의 재생 처리시, 기저부 형태와 브라켓 재생 방법에 따른 전단접착강도 및 브라켓 탈락 양상을 비교하고자 시행되었다. 교정 치료를 위해 발거된 건전한 소구치 252개를 수집하고, Type I, Type II, Type III 스탠다드 브라켓을 각각 재생 방법에 따라 네 군으로 나누어 준비된 소구치에 접착하고, Instron Universal Testing Machine(Model 4466)으로 전단접착강도를 측정하였으며, 브라켓의 타락 양상을 관찰하고 브라켓 기저부의 주사전자현미경 소견을 관찰하였다. SP SS 통계처리 프로그램을 이용하여 일원분산분석(oneway ANOVA), Scheffe`s multiple range test를 실시하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. 브라켓 기저부 형태에 따른 전단접착강도는 유의차가 있었으며(P<0.001), 그 크기는 Type III(round indentation, micro-etched base), Type I(foil-mesh base), Type II(grooved integral base, micro-etched)의 순이었다. 2. 재생 방법에 따른 전단접착강도는, Type I, Type II 브라켓에서는 Big Jane에 1분간 처리시 우수한 결과를 보였고(p<0.05), Type III 브라켓에서는 각 군간 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았다.(p>0.05). 3. Type I, Type II 브라켓은 기저부-레진 계면에서 가장 높은 빈도로 탈락하였고, Type III 브라켓에서는 레진의 절반가량이 치면에 잔존하는 탈락 양상이 가장 많았다. 4. 탈락 양상에 따라 탈락시의 전단접착강도가 유의성 있는 차이를 보였는데(p<0.05), 브라켓 탈락시 접착제의 절반가량이 치면에 잔존하는 경우 전단접착경우가 가장 큰 것으로 나타났다. 5. 브라켓 재생 후 기저부에 남아 있는 접착제는 전단접착강도의 감소에 영향을 미치지 않았다. This study was undertaken to compare the bond strength and the fracture site of new and recycled brackets according to the base design. 252 sound premolars extracted for orthodontic treatment were collected, and Type I, Type II, Type III brackets were divided into four groups by recycling method. Each bracket was then bonded to an extracted premolar. Instron Universal Testing Machine(model 4466) was used to measure the shear bond strength, and the surface of the recycled brackets were viewed in SEM. For the analysis of the results, one way ANOVA and Scheffe`s multiple range test was executed using the SPSSWIN program. 1. The shear bond strength showed statistically significant difference according to the bracket base design (P<0.001). Type III bracket(round indentation base, micro-etched) showed the highest bond strength, Type I bracket(foil-mesh base) was second, and Type II bracket(grooved integral base, micro-etched) was last. 2. The effect of recycling on the bond strength was different according to bracket type. The shear bond strength of Type I, Type II brackets showed the smallist reduction when treated for 1 minute in Big Jane(p<0.05), but the shear bond strength of Type III brackets showed no statistically significant difference according to recycling method(p>0.05). 3. In Type I, Type II brackets, frequent fracture site was bracket-resin interface, but in Type III brackets, about half of the resin was retained on the tooth surface frequently. 4. The shear bond strength was highest when about half of the resin was retained on the tooth surface(p<0.05). 5. The resin remnant on the bracket base after recycling had no effect on the shear bond strength.

        Since the urban environmental colors as a starting point of the research on environmental colors of the building depend on the environmental characteristics of the complex and various physical and social culture to improve the visual order of the urban landscape and don't establish its system and order, the importance of the visual effects of urban environment has been suggested through the experimental and theoretical research. It is to want to abstract the factor of surface pattern from the side of two dimentional physical factor and perceptual of architecture surface construction by concreting calssifing the criterion of analysis in to rank phase, perceptual concept, finding out basic composition factor of shape and opening architecture surface construction of design. To suggest the material of mere practical color design, this study examines the research of exterial colors of the building on the street, prescribes the characteristics of the building with other environmental factors which compose the colors and aims at suggesting the actual color design materials making the trend of colors the object of the research.

      • Development of Wernicke’s Encephalopathy during Total Parenteral Nutrition Therapy without Additional Multivitamin Supplementation in a Patient with Intestinal Obstruction: A Case Report

        Wernicke’s encephalopathy (WE) is a serious neurological disorder that can be fatal if not properly treated. In this current paper, I present the case of a 51-year-old male with a perivesical fistula between a presacral abscess and the rectus abdominis muscle. He received total parenteral nutrition therapy during a fasting period because of small bowel obstruction and later developed WE. The patient’s WE-related symptoms improved following rapid treatment with high doses of thiamine.

        This study describes an 81-year-old male who was highly suspicious for refeeding syndrome (RFS) after a retrospective review of his postoperative clinical progression. This highlights the importance of clinicians’ awareness of the possibility of RFS development in surgical patients with any RFS risk factors.

      • CURATOR’S REVIEW: EXAMINING A SERIES OF MARCH 1<sup>ST</sup> INDEPENDENCE MOVEMENT EXHIBITIONS BASED ON DIRECTING INTENTION

        In honor of the centennial anniversary of the March 1<sup>st</sup> Movement, a series of special exhibitions have been held in museums and galleries throughout the country. This article provides an overview of the directing intention at exhibitions held by four major museums. The National Museum of Korean Contemporary History created a large-scale exhibition. The Seoul Museum of History organized an exhibition entitled “March 1st Independence Movement in Seoul and Pyeongyang”. The Independence Hall of Korea completely renovated its 3rd exhibition hall to host a special exhibition. The Cultural Heritage Administration held an exhibition at Seodaemun Prison History Hall.

        <P>Abstracts: </P><P>Thymic stromal lymphopoietin (TSLP) induces naïve CD4+ T cells to produce Th2 cytokines. In addition, to low production of Th2 cytokines, strong Th1 response, which plays an important role in vitiligo development, has been induced by blockade of TSLP or TSLP receptor. This study examined whether a functional TSLP polymorphism was associated with vitiligo. One hundred and sixty Korean patients with vitiligo and 568 healthy Korean individuals were examined for the four SNPs of TSLP gene. Luciferase activity was measured for promoter assay. The genotype and allele frequencies of −847C>T polymorphism were lower in vitiligo patients compared with the controls, whereas those of wild type were higher (<I>P</I> = 0.004, <I>P</I> = 0.017 respectively). None the less, the promoter activity of −847C decreased significantly (<I>P</I> = 0.013) compared with −847T, expecting lower TSLP mRNA levels in the polymorphism. Collectively, C allele at the TSLP −847C>T polymorphism may increase susceptibility to generalized vitiligo through decreasing TSLP mRNA expression levels.</P>

        Three New Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms Identified by a Genome-Wide Association Study in Korean Patients with Vitiligo

        <P>Genetic susceptibility is involved in the pathogenesis of vitiligo. Association studies with a whole genome-based approach instead of a single or a few candidate genes may be useful for discovering new susceptible genes. Although the etiology of non-segmental and segmental types is different, the association between gene polymorphisms and vitiligo has been reported, without defining types or in non-segmental type. Whole genome-based single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) were examined in patients with non-segmental and segmental types of vitiligo using the Affymetrix GeneChip 500K mapping array, and 10 functional classes of significant SNPs were selected. Genotyping and data analysis of selected 10 SNPs was performed using real-time PCR. Genotype and allele frequencies were significantly different between both types of vitiligo and three of the target SNPs, <I>DNAH5</I> (rs2277046), <I>STRN3</I> (rs2273171), and <I>KIAA1005</I> (rs3213758). A stronger association was suggested between the mutation in <I>KIAA1005</I> (rs3213758) and the segmental type compared to the non-segmental type of vitiligo. <I>DNAH5</I> (rs2277046), <I>STRN3</I> (rs2273171), and <I>KIAA1005</I> (rs3213758) may be new vitiligo-related SNPs in Korean patients, either non-segmental or segmental type.</P>
