This paper deals with the magnetic shielding effects in the superconductiong a. c. generator using finite element method. Models of three different shields are studied to compare the magnetic shielding effects. Applying 3 phase ac source to the armature, the magnetic flux densities are calculated for directions and frequencies. Because the stability of the superconducting field winding depends on the screening of the magnetic fields, computed results should be used to design the electromagnetic shield of the superconduction generator.

객체-관계 매핑 프레임워크 성능 측정

최근 들어 소프트웨어 개발 언어에서는 객체지향 언어(JAVA, C# 등)들이 점차 주목을 받고 있다. 하지만 대부분의 영구 데이터 저장 장소로 관계형 데이터베이스(RDB)를 사용하고 있고, 이에 따라 관계형 데이터베이스와 객체지향 언어를 같이 사용하기에 많은 어려움이 따르며, 관계형 데이터를 객체형 데이터로 바꾸는데 많은 개발 시간을 요하게 된다. 이와 같은 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 관계형 데이터와 객체형 데이터 간의 변환을 지원하기 위한 많은 프레임워크(Hibernate, JDO, Castor 등)들이 속속 등장하였다. 본 논문에서는 객체관계 프레임워크(ORM Frameworks)중에서 Hibernate를 사용한 Pet Store와, EJB를 사용한 Pet Store를 구현하여 각각의 Database Access속도와, 코딩양들을 비교 분석 하여 본다. Object-oriented languages such as C++, Java or C# are getting attention gradually as software development languages recently while relational databases which have been around since the 1960s have remained as primary databases. Writing an object-oriented application that stores data in a relational database set developers up for a large maintenance burden because there is an impedance mismatch between object model and relational model. To alleviate such problem, it is recommended to use the persistent framework. The persistent frameworks can allow developers to map normal objects to relational tables with minimal effort. As a result, a lot of frameworks such as Hibernate, JDO, and EJB appeared successively. In this paper, we benchmark the Hibernate and EJB frameworks using Java Pet Store which is a de facto reference implementation provided by Sun.

Network Neutrality Debate: an End User`s Perspective

Network neutrality has recently become a major issue in the telecommunications industry as the demand for services which need more bandwidth have continued to grow. It is frequently argued that network neutrality is necessary to guarantee fair competition, continuous innovation among contents and application providers and to protect access by end users to network. However, network operators argue that it may reduce the incentive to upgrade their networks, and thereby a high quality of services (QoS) may not be guaranteed. Although network neutrality is a controversial issue that can affect the interests of a wide range of stakeholders, previous studies have only focused on the debate between network operators and contents and application providers, without taking into consideration of end users who are one of the most important stakeholders. This paper attempts to review the network neutrality debate from the perspective of end users by examining which attributes they prefer in broadband Internet services. The results imply that Internet access speed is the most important factor and that a user-oriented approach may reduce conflicts between network operators and contents and application providers.

Article : Prediction Model of Post-merger Performance

This study develops a comprehensive model describing the post-merger performance of a combined firm based on a fundamental ROE equation. The model suggests that post-merger performance is an exponential function composed of relative size, price to book ratio, synergy, cost of equity and book value change, rather than a simple linear combination of factors. In addition, the model addresses relative size effect, market valuation effect, premium, and merger wave, which are consistent with previous studies. Empirical tests are also provided to show the effectiveness of the model for measurement of the post-merger performance.

E-commerce is an expanding business area due to the significant development of Cable TV and Internet shopping malls. With the increase in the number of the shopping malls, small package express service market has also grown very rapidly. Shopping malls and vendors involving in e-commerce demand a high quality delivery service for their customers, and small package express service providers try to meet the demands. Thus, how to choose the right small package express service provider is one of the important factors to the successful business in the area of e-commerce.<br/> The purpose of this study is to find important hierarchy-factors, which affect the e-commerce firms to choose the small package express service providers. Using AHP method and survey data, we find out the factors which are considered to be important in the choice of the right small package express service provider. The relative importance of the factors is ordered by low cost, accurate and rapid delivery, respectively.<br/> The results of this study might provide some implications to small package express service providers to attain superiority over competitors.

본 연구는 재무적 입장을 중심으로 비즈니스 모델이라는 경영학적 사고의 틀을 사찰 경영이라는 분야에 적용시켜 볼 때 나타날 수 있는 사찰 경영만의 특징적 형태를 알아보고자 하였다. 사찰의 목적은 세속과 같이 나의 행복을 위한 경제적 가치, 즉 富의 창출이 아니라 중생의 행복을 위한 마음의 가치, 즉, 꿈과 희망을 주는 불법진리를 통한 공덕의 창출과 같은 것이 되어야 할 것으로 보인다. 이러한 공덕의 창출을 위한 투입요소는 사찰의 자산이고, 사찰의 자산을 구매하기 위한 자금은 종단으로부터 투자된 사찰의 자기자본과 중생으로부터 조달된 도덕적 부채의 성격을 띤 타인자본으로 나누어질 수 있을 것이다. 또한, 사찰의 영업은 수행, 포교등과 같은 활동을 통한 공덕의 생산이라 볼 수 있을 것이다. 사찰은 중생으로부터 받은 財공양을 바탕으로 法보시를 널리 제공함으로써 한량없는 무량공덕을 창출하고, 이를 財보시를 제공한 중생에게 되돌려 주는 형태가 되는 것이다. 이러한 관점에서 본다면 사찰은 일회용 복(요행)을 비는 곳을 넘어서 미래를 위하여 보시를 중개하고 공덕을 저축하는 곳이라 할 수 있으며, 사찰의 경쟁력은 여하히 法보시를 통하여 무량공덕을 창출할 수 있는가 하는 것이 된다. 사찰의 경쟁력을 향상시키기 위한 방안으로는 수행과 포교의 융합, 산중과 도시의 융합, 한글과 경전의 융합 등도 생각해 볼 수도 있을 것이다. This paper is to study the special aspect of business model of temple focusing on the financial management. The purpose of temple is not to generate economic wealth like corporation but to generate mental value like happiness and dream. The basic role of temple is considered as the intermediation of good deeds. People make donations to the temple for their own wishes, and the temple, utilizing the people`s donations, devotes itself to figure out the true meaning of Buddha`s words and offers the results of its study to people, and thereby, generates good deeds, which are impossible for ordinary people to do so. In this sense, the temple transforms the financial donations into good deeds, and it can be regarded as a depository institution of good deeds for the future instead of a simple place for praying for one-time good luck. In addition, the maximum amounts of good deeds which can be generated though the intermediation should be infinity. The competitive ability of temple is dependent on how to efficiently generate good deeds. This paper finally suggests a kind of convergence between traditional way of thinking and a new trend such as the missionary activities in the modern city life style and the standard Buddhist textbook written in Korean Language, etc.
