Graphic Abstract
The cover shows an image of fully rollable transparent nanogenerators synthesized using chemical vapor deposition grown large-scale graphene sheets as transparent electrodes and piezoelectric ZnO nanorod arrays. Sang-Woo Kim, Jae-Young Choi, and co-workers report on p. 2187 the electrical and structural stability of the nanogenerators, with excellent charge scavenging performance under external mechanical loads such as bending and rolling. This study shows that graphene-based nanogenerators are very promising for self-powered rollable transparent device applications.

The copolymmers of N, N-dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate(DAEM) and N-arylmethacrylamide (AMA) were prepared, and their photochemical properties as a negative photoresist were studied by the measurements of insoluble fraction, and by UV and IR absorption spectral changes. These copolymers are soluble in DMF, actone, methanol, of acidic buffer solutions. Solubility of these copolymer films in the vuffer solutions increased with the amount of DAEM units in the copolymer and decreased with the pH value. The insoluble fraction of the copolymer films in the buffer solution of pH 4 of in methanol increased with irradiation time and the amount of AMA units in the copolymer. UV and IR spectral changes indicated that not only photo-crosslinking but also the photo-Fries rearrangement took place upon irradiation with a 254nm UV light.

Aims: Pulmonary thromboembolism may be the first manifestation of an occult malignancy and pulmonary infarction can occur when peripheral branches of pulmonary artery are blocked by thrombosis. We have experienced a rare case of hepatocellular carcinoma that first appeared as pulmonary embolism and infarction. Results: A 74-year-old man was admitted for cough, small amount of hemoptysis and sudden onset dyspnea. He had history of gout and was a chronic alcohol drinker. On admission, his vital signs were 37.3 ℃-140/90 mmHg-108 beats/min, 22 breaths/min and the oxygen saturation 91% while he was breathing in room air. Laboratory data showed CBC 12,700 /㎣-15.0 g/㎗-247,000/㎣, CRP of 7.21 ㎎/㎗, normal serum bilirubin, INR, troponin and D-dimer level. Chest CT angiography was performed and found thrombosis in left main, lobar and segmental pulmonary arteries and wedge-shaped consolidations of the lobes responsible for these arteries. Thus, pulmonary embolism and associated pulmonary infarction were diagnosed. And abdominal CT dynamic study revealed 9.9x5.2㎝ sized low attenuated mass in S7 of the liver with invasion of right portal vein, hepatic vein and IVC. Echocardiography showed no intracardiac thrombus without sign of right ventiricular dysfunction. So the final diagnosis was hepatocellular carcinoma with angioinvasion, thromboembolism and subsequent pulmonary infarction. Anticoagulation therapy with low-molecular weight heparin was administered, and transarterial chemoembolization was performed as a fundamental treatment. Until now, there has been no sign of worsening of disease and the patient showed improvement in symptoms. Conclusions: We report a rare case of hepatocellular carcinoma that presented as pulmonary thromboembolism and subsequent pulmonary infarction as the first manifestation.

Cloned animals developed from somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT) embryos are useful resources for agricultural and medical applications. However, the birth rate in the cloned animals is very low, and the cloned animals that have survived show various developmental defects. In this report, we present the morphology and differentially regulated proteins in the extraembryonic tissue from SCNT embryos to understand the molecular nature of the tissue. We examined 26-day-old SCNT porcine embryos at which the sonogram can first detect pregnancy. The extraembryonic tissue from SCNT embryos was abnormally small compared with the control. In the proteomic analysis with the SCNT extraembryonic tissue, 39 proteins were identified as differentially regulated proteins. Among up-regulated proteins, Annexins and Hsp27 were found. They are closely related to the processes of apoptosis. Among down-regulated proteins, Peroxiredoxins and anaerobic glycolytic enzymes were identified. In the Western blot analysis, antioxidant enzymes and the antiapoptotic Bcl-2 protein were down-regulated, and caspases were up-regulated. In the terminal deoxynucleotidyltransferase-mediated dUTP nick end labeling (TUNEL) assay with the placenta from SCNT embryos, apoptotic trophoblasts were observed. These results demonstrate that a major reason for the low birth rate of cloned animals is due to abnormal apoptosis in the extraembryonic tissue during early pregnancy.
