Vapor-liquid equilibrium data at atmospheric pressure were obtained for the acetic acid-water system containing magnesium nitrate, cupric nitrate or cadmium nitrate of various concentrations. These data were obtained with a view to ascertaining the possibility of separating acetic acid and water under condition of reversed relative volatility by extractive distillation with increasing salt concentration. The results show a considerable effect of magnesium nitrate or cudric nitrate addition, with a reversal taking place at approximately 10 weight % magnesium nitrate, and 11 weight % cupric nitrate in the liquid phase. A method of graphical representation which is facilitated the interpolation of salt concentration is proposed, and the data is examined by the simple empirical equation which correlates the salt effect.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Refrigerants have been continuously developed to improve their thermal performances and to deal with relevant environmental issues. Recently, regulations on refrigerants are being intensified due to the global warming. To meet the enhanced environmental standards, low global warming potential (GWP) refrigerants have been developed. In this study, experimental studies are conducted to investigate the characteristics of condensation heat transfer and frictional pressure drop for R-1233zd(E). The experiments are carried out under partial condensation conditions in a plate heat exchanger to measure temperature, pressure and mass flow rate. Heat transfer coefficients and frictional pressure drops with respect to mean vapor qualities are yielded. During the partial condensation process, the heat transfer coefficients increases as the mass and heat fluxes increase. However, no significant change in frictional pressure drop is observed when the heat flux changes. It is concluded that other correlations for Nusselt number and pressure drop from the literature cannot be applied for the low GWP refrigerant, R-1233zd(E), and the present experimental correlations agree well with the experimental results with the error bands of ±20%.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> The condensation heat transfer and pressure drop in PHE with R-1233zd(E) are experimentally tested. </LI> <LI> No significant change in frictional pressure drop is observed when the heat flux changes. </LI> <LI> The present experimental correlations agree well with the experimental results with the error bands of ±20%. </LI> <LI> Other correlations from the literature cannot be applied for the low GWP refrigerant, R-1233zd(E). </LI> </UL> </P>

The experiments were conducted to identify several factors influencing mesophyll protoplast isolation, culture and plant regeneration of rape(Brassica napus cv. ‘Hanrayuchae’) The results obtained were summarized as follows ; It was required to preplasmolyse the mesophyll tissue before enzyme treatment to increase yield and stability of protoplasts. The most healthy protoplasts could be obtained when the tissue was treated with enzymes containing macerozyme 1.0% and cellulase 2.0% for 4 hours. Sustained cell division was obtained after culturing the protoplasts in liquid 8P-KM medium supplemented with 2.4-D 0.2mg/ℓ, NAA 1.0mg/ℓ, BAP 0.5mg/ℓ, glucose 0.4M, and mannitol 0.1M. First cell division was observed 5 days after plating and was sustained to eventually produce cell colonies after another 16 days. When micro-calli 4-5 weeks after plating were transferred to B₅ basal medium with NAA 1.0mg/ℓ, BAP 0.5mg/ℓ, sucrose 30g/ℓ and agarose 6g/ℓ, green calli were proliferated to be at least 0.5-1.0cm in diameter 8 weeks after initial plating. Multiple shoots were induced on MS medium supplemented with BAP 1.0mg/ℓ and NAA 0.01mg/ℓ. After transferring differentiated shoots onto MS medium without hormones, intact plants were eventually produced.

인공사료로 먹인 누에에 천연염료와 화학 염료를 각각 혼합하여 5령 3일째부터 먹인 누에의 유색고치 생산을 검토한 결과 다음과 같다. 1. 천연염료와 인공사료를 혼합 할 경우에 치자 색소만 청자색으로 변환하여 유색 견을 생산하였고 고치의 중량은 대조 보다 낮았다. 2. 화학 염료 혼합 인공사료는 Orang II, Methyl Orang, Acid Blue R의 유색고치 생산은 주황색 노란색, 파란색 순서로 유색 고치를 생산하였다. In order to produce color cocoon, 3rd day 5th instar silkworm was cultivated with dye mixed artificial diet. Silkworm fed by artificial diet mixed with gardenia pigment spun blue colored cocoon, by Orange II orange cocoon, by methyl orange yellowish cocoon, and by Acid blue R bluish cocoon. Cocoon weight and cocoon shell weight ratio of silkworm fed by colored artificial diet were lower than those of normal silkworm.
