Genome-wide analysis of T-DNA integration into the chromosomes of <i>Magnaporthe oryzae</i>

<P><U>A</U><I>grobacterium <U>t</U>umefaciens-</I><U>m</U>ediated <U>t</U>ransformation (ATMT) has become a prevalent tool for functional genomics of fungi, but our understanding of T-DNA integration into the fungal genome remains limited relative to that in plants. Using a model plant-pathogenic fungus, <I>Magnaporthe oryzae</I>, here we report the most comprehensive analysis of T-DNA integration events in fungi and the development of an informatics infrastructure, termed a <U>T</U>-DNA <U>a</U>nalysis <U>p</U>latform (TAP). We identified a total of 1110 <U>T</U>-DNA-<U>t</U>agged <U>l</U>ocations (TTLs) and processed the resulting data via TAP. Analysis of the TTLs showed that T-DNA integration was biased among chromosomes and preferred the promoter region of genes. In addition, irregular patterns of T-DNA integration, such as chromosomal rearrangement and readthrough of plasmid vectors, were also observed, showing that T-DNA integration patterns into the fungal genome are as diverse as those of their plant counterparts. However, overall the observed junction structures between T-DNA borders and flanking genomic DNA sequences revealed that T-DNA integration into the fungal genome was more canonical than those observed in plants. Our results support the potential of ATMT as a tool for functional genomics of fungi and show that the TAP is an effective informatics platform for handling data from large-scale insertional mutagenesis.</P>

The purpose of flywheel energy storage system (FESS) is to store unused nighttime electricity as kinetic energy and convert it to electricity during daytime. The FESS is proposed as an effcient energy storage system because there is no mechanical problems, such as friction and wear. The flywheel is rotated at a high speed, 10,000 rpm. The rotor dynamic analysis should be performed with a adequate analytical model and equations of motion to identify the stable driving condition and the dynamic behavior. But the analysis has to be needed for a long time to get the result from solving software that is used 3D model because the number of node and element is very big for good result. Therefore, in this paper, the new modelling method using 2D model is suggested. It will be solved by coded program in MATLAB by FEM(Finite Element Method). And the result from coded program is compared with results from common solving software, MSC. Nastran and ANSYS Workbench.

목 적: 우울증의 조기 발견 및 치료는 정신보건분야에서 매우 중요하다. 우울증을 조기에 발견해서 치료함으로써 정신 및 신체 질환의 일반적인 예후를 향상 시킬 수 있으며 자살률 또한 낮출 수 있다. BDI는 일차 진료현장에서 비교적 쉽고 빠르게 우울증상을 발견할 수 있는 척도이다. 이 연구는 BDI를 이용하여 우울증 및 우울증상의 유병률을 밝혀 지역 사회 정신건강 증진의 기초자료를 마련하고자 하였다. 방 법: 충청남도 아산시 도고면, 온양 3동에 거주하는 주민 291명을 대상으로 인구학적 기초정보 및 BDI를 조사하였다. 우울증은 BDI 점수를 기준으로 남성의 경우 23점, 여성의 경우 24점 이상으로 정의하였고 우울증상은 BDI STEN 점수 7점 이상으로 정의하였다. 결 과: 연령 보정 후 우울증의 유병률은 전체 8.9%, 남성 4.1%, 여성10.0%로 나타났으며 우울증상의 유병률은 전체 17.9%, 남성 12.5%, 여성 23.1%이었다. 우울증상과 관련된 요인으로는 성별, 정신과 질환의 가족력, 내과적 질환 등으로 나타났으며 나이, 교육정도, 수입, 결혼력과의 관련성은 통계적으로 유의하지 않았다. 결 론: 도농복합지역에서의 우울증 및 우울증상의 유병률은 국가 전체를 대상으로 했을 때와 비슷한 결과를 보였다. 우울증 및 우울증 상을 보이는 것으로 나타난 고위험군을 대상으로 하여 정신보건 서비스를 제공하여 우울증상을 조기 발견, 치료한다면 지역사회 정신건강을 증진시킬 수 있을 것이다. Objectives:Early detection and treatment of depression is very important to improve community mental health. Finding and treating depression early can improve general prognosis of mental and physical diseases and reduce the rate of suicide. Using BDI, primary practitioner can easily find depressive symptoms. The purpose of this study was to find prevalence of depression and depressive symptoms and correlates of depressive symptoms to suggest baseline data. Methods:We investigated 291 people who were residing in Onyang 3-dong and Dogo-myun, Asan-si, Chungcheongnam-do. Our research team visited their residence and gathered information using the questionnaire about sociodemographic factors and BDI. Depression was defined as BDI total score over 23 in males and over 24 in females. Depressive symptom was defined as BDI STEN score over 7. Results:The prevalence of depression in Asan-si was 8.9% in total, 4.1% among males, 10.0% among females. The prevalence of depressive symptoms was 17.9% in total, 12.5% among males, 23.1% among females. The related factors of depressive symptoms was sex, family history of psychiatry and medical disease. Age, education years, incomes and marital status were not statistically significant. Conclusion:Prevalence of depression and depressive symptoms in a mixed region of urban and rural communities is similar with those among national wide sample. With mental service for those who are in high risk group, early detection of depressive symptoms from community will be needed to improve general health status.

Red Liriope platyphylla (RLP) produced by steaming process has been reported to enhance the secretion of insulin and nerve growth factor (NGF). However, there has been no report on the toxicity of RLP in the specific organs of mice. To investigate the toxic effect of RLP, we tried to observe a significant alteration on body weight, food/water intake, organ weight, liver pathology and kidney pathology in female ICR mice received 12.5, 25.0 and 50.0 mg/kg body weight/day of RLP via gavage for 10 days. Out of seven organs including brain, heart, lung, liver, kidney, spleen and ovary, two organs (heart and lung) showed significantly decreased weights in the medium dosage RLP-treated group, whereas weights of other organs were maintained at constant levels in all dosage groups. In the liver toxicity analysis, no significant increase of alkaline phosphatase (ALP), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), and aspartate amino-transferase (AST) were detected in any RLP-treated group compared to vehicle-treated group. The specific pathological changes induced by most of toxic compounds were not observed in the liver in microscopic examination. Furthermore, in the kidney toxicological analysis, a significant enhancement of the blood urea nitrogen (BUN) concentration was detected in the high dosage RLP-treated group compared to the vehicle-treated group. However, the serum creatinine (CA) concentration on the serum biochemistry as well as the pathological changes in microscopic examination were not significantly different between the vehicle- and RLP-treated groups. Therefore, these results suggest that RLP does not induce any specific toxicity in liver or kidney tissues of mice, although the BUN level slightly increased in 50.0 mg/kg of RLPtreated group.
Frontal Sinus Osteoplastic Flap Surgery Using a Surgical Navigation System

OBJECTIVE:: To report the case of a 38-year-old woman who underwent osteoplastic flap surgery for recurrent frontal sinus mucocele. During surgery, the exact shape of the frontal sinus was duplicated using a surgical navigation system. METHODS:: In this case report, the authors suggest intraoperative surgical navigation systems are useful for accurately determining the dimensions of the frontal sinus for osteoplastic flap surgery. RESULTS:: The patient underwent successful and safe osteoplastic flap surgery using a surgical navigation system. CONCLUSION:: Surgical navigation is useful and safe for frontal sinus osteoplastic flap surgery.
일 도농복합지역 주민의 정신질환자에 대한 태도 및 정신보건문제와 정신보건사업에 대한 인식도에 관한 연구

연구목적 본 연구는 아산시 지역주민의 정신질환자에 대한 태도 및 지역사회 정신보건사업에 대한 인식도를 조사함으로써 향후 아산시 정신보건사업 계획을 수립하는데 있어 기초자료로 활용하기 위함이다. 방 법 2007년 2월 아산시 온양3동과 도고면에 거주하는 만 20세 이상 만 70세 미만 성인을 모집단으로 하였으며 최종 대상자는 310명이었다. 연구도구는 Community Attitude to the Mentally Ill Inventory(CAMI)를 사용하였다. 결 과 아산시 지역 주민의 정신질환자에 대한 태도는 덜 권위적이고 동정적으로 전반적으로 긍정적인 태도를 보였으나 정신보건문 제와 정신보건사업에 대한 인식도는 굉장히 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 저학력, 불교, 도고면 주민, 농업에 종사, 월수입 300만원 이상, 정신질환자와 접촉이 많은 집단에서 상대적으로 부정적인 태도를 보였고 특히 저학력층과 농업에 종사하는 집단은 정신보건 문제와 사업에 대한 인식도도 낮았다. 결 론 정신질환자에게 부정적인 태도를 갖고 있는 대상을 우선적으로 정신질환자에 대한 오해와 편견을 교정시키기 위한 교육을 시행하여야 할 것으로 생각된다. 또한 정신보건문제 및 정신보건사업에 대한 인식도가 낮으므로 그에 대한 정확한 지식의 제공 및홍보가 지속적으로 이루어져야 한다. Objectives:The purpose of this survey is to get basic data to develop plan and strategy of community mental health care services in Asan city. So the authors investigated the attitudes toward mentally ill and the knowledge about mental illness and mental health care services among the residents of Asan city. Methods:The subjects of this study are the 310 persons aged between 20 and 69 who live in Onyang 3-dong and Dogo-myeon, Asan-si, Chungcheongnam-do. Tool of the study is Community Attitudes to the Mentally Ill Inventory (CAMI). Results:The residents of Asan city showed generally positive attitudes to mentally ill. But they lacked the knowledge about mental illness and mental health care services. The lower educated, buddist, farmers, persons who live in Dogo-myeon, persons whose monthly income are above three million won, persons who have experience for contacting mentally ill showed more negative attitudes to the mentally ill. The lower educated and farmers lacked overall awareness of mental illness and mental health care services, too. Conclusion:The community education to reduce the prejudice and misunderstanding against the mentally ill should be actively and intensively concentrated upon the persons who showed negative attitude. Furthermore, systematic public education and information should be constantly delivered to community residents to improve the awareness of mental illness and mental health care services

본 논문에서는 Si가 도핑된 Modulation-doped AlGaN/GaN 이종 접합 구조를 가지는 전력증폭기용 MISHFET 소자를 제작하였다. 제작된 GaN TR 소자는 6H-SiC(0001)의 Substrate 위에 성장시켰으며, 180 nm의 gate length를 가진다. 제작된 소자를 측정한 결과, 837 ㎃/㎜의 최대 드레인 전류 특성, 177 mS/㎜의 gm(Tranconductance)을 가지며, fT는 45.6 ㎓, f㎃X는 46.5 ㎓로 9.3 ㎓에서 1.54 W/㎜의 전력 밀도와 40.24 %의 PAE를 가지는 것으로 확인되었다. This letter presents the MISHFET with si-doped AlGaN/GaN heterostructure for power amplifier. The device grown on 6H-SiC(0001) substrate with a gate length of 180 nm has been fabricated. The fabricated device exhibited ㎃ximum drain current density of 837 ㎃/㎜ and peak transconductance of 177 mS/㎜. A unity current gain cutoff frequency was 45.6 ㎓ and maximum frequency of oscillation was 46.5 ㎓. The reported output power density was 1.54 W/㎜ and A PAE(Power Added Efficiency) was 40.24 % at 9.3 ㎓.
