<P>In this letter, a 13.56-MHz passive RFID is proposed as a wireless communication method for an e-skin sensor. Planar coils for RFID antenna were designed on a flexible printed circuit board. An impedance matching network for the coil antenna was optimized to minimize signal loss between coil antennas. Signal loss was measured after attaching the designed antennas to the arm of a human subject. The performance of the proposed method was then evaluated by measuring a read range. The results showed that the proposed method has sufficient read range to wirelessly receive data from an e-skin sensor located on an arm. The proposed method can be effectively used to realize wireless data communication for an e-skin sensor.</P>
Adipocyte culture medium stimulates invasiveness of MDA-MB-231 cell via CCL20 production

<P>We explored whether adipocyte culture medium affects the secreted chemokine profile of tumor cells, because adipocytes stimulate progression or metastasis of breast cancer cells, and chemokines secreted from tumor cells are involved in these processes. CCL20 expression was dramatically increased, and an NF-kappaB blocker completely inhibited adipocyte culture medium-induced CCL20 expression in MDA-MB-231 cells. We showed that adipocyte culture medium increased the production of TNF-alpha in MDA-MB-231 cells, which stimulated CCL20 expression in an autocrine fashion. Our data also showed that CCL20 increased the migration and invasiveness of MDA-MB-231 cells, but did not affect the proliferation of these cells.</P>

저자들은 악성 임파종으로 부신 피질 호르몬과 세포독성 화학용법 치료중 폐, 뇌 및 갑상선에 침습성 Aspergillosis가 발생한 환자에서 Stereotaxic 뇌 생검 및 갑상선 흡입 생검으로 Aspergillus 감염증을 확진하고 Amphotericin B 치료에 좋은 반응을 보인 1예를 경험하였기에 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. The invasive fungal infections are frequent in patients with neoplastic disease and result in a significant morbidity and mortality. In the last decade, the progress in antineoplastic chemotherapy and the more aggressive approach in the treatment of cancer patients gave rise to increase the number of patients predisposed to invasive fungal infections. With a brief reveiw of literature, we report one case of invasive aspergillosis involving lung, brain and thyroid gland, which was diagnosed by stereotaxic aspiration of brain and needle aspiration of thyroid gland in 21-year-old male patient who had taken the chemotherapeutic agents for the treatment of relapsed malignant lymphoma.

저자들은 만성췌장염환자에서 지속적인 오심과 구토를 주소로 내원하여 십이지장협착으로 진단된 1예를 경험하였기에 보고하는 바이다. Duodenal stenosis resulting from fibroinflammatory process is a rare complication of chronic pancreatitis. The mechanism of duodenal stenosis seems to be related to ischemia and edema caused by persistent inflammation, which results in irreversible change of duodenal wall structure. We experienced a chronic alcoholic male patient with duodenal stenosis who had a history of choledochojejunostomy to relieve distal bile duct stenosis several years ago. He had suffered persistent postprandial nausea and vomiting for several months. Barium study of upper gastrointestinal tract and repeated endoscopy show narrowing lumen of duodenum with coarse nodular surface due to reactive inflammatory change.

<P>Low serum levels of adiponectin are a high risk factor for various types of cancer. Although adiponectin inhibits proliferation and metastasis of breast cancer cells, the underlying molecular mechanisms remain obscure. In this study, we show that adiponectin-activated AMPK reduces the invasiveness of MDA-MB-231 cells by stimulating dephosphorylation of AKT by increasing protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A) activity. Among the various regulatory B56 subunits, B56gamma was directly phosphorylated by AMPK at Ser(298) and Ser(336), leading to an increase of PP2A activity through dephosphorylation of PP2Ac at Tyr(307). We also show that both the blood levels of adiponectin and the tissue levels of PP2A activity were decreased in breast cancer patients and that the direct administration of adiponectin into tumor tissues stimulates PP2A activity. Taken together, these findings show that adiponectin, derived from adipocytes, negatively regulates the invasiveness of breast cancer cells by activating the tumor suppressor PP2A.</P>

This paper describes a resonant driving piezoelectric micro cantilever practicable to ultrasound thrombolysis device for the treatment of ischemic stroke. The proposed piezoelectric cantilever was designed to be a unimorph structure of Si/SiO₂/Ti/Pt/PZT/Pt, and fabricated by top-down sequence etching process. The red blood cell (RBC) lysis experiment was carried out to confirm the usability of the proposed cantilever. Total 87.76% of RBCs were ruptured using the ultrasound generated by up-down actuations of the fabricated cantilever with AC voltage having the frequency of 19.36 ㎑ and the magnitude of 30 V<SUB>p-p</SUB>.

본 논문은 OTM(On-The-Move: 이동형) 위성단말을 위해 통신 지역에서 지형/지물에 의해 발생될 수 있는 위성신호의 음영 지역을 분석하는 방법을 제시하였다. 지형/지물 정보를 포함하는 3D map을 HTZ warfare M&S(Modeling & Simulation) 도구를 이용하여 수신 신호의 프로파일을 얻고, 이를 Markov 모델을 이용하여 통계적으로 분석하였다. M&S 데이터의 분석 결과는 대전 도심을 실 주행시험을 통해 확보한 수신 프로파일과 비교하였다. 비교 분석 결과, 수신 프로파일은 약 74.8 %의 일치를 보였으며, 가로수 영향 배제시 수신 프로파일의 통계적 분석 결과 또한 유사함을 보였다. This paper proposed the M&S(Modeling & Simulation) method of channel characterization of satellite communication in the operating area of satellite OTM(On-The-Move) terminal. In M&S, received signal profile was acquired by HTZ warfare software which uses 3 dimensional map including building, road information and geographical features, and then was analyzed statistically. And a received signal profile and its statistics from M&S data were compared with those from measured data. The research showed that the simulated received signal profile matched the measured one about 74.8 percent and simulated statistics matched well as roadside trees were excluded.
