This paper is a study on the mechanical loss of the twin rotary compressor with evaporating temperature and condensing temperature. The simulation results were verified by the manufacturer data. Cooling capacity and compressor input power were consistent with the manufacturer data within 4.59 and 6.79 %, respectively. Total mechanical loss increase with an increase of evaporating pressure and condensing pressure. The loss between vane and vane slot and the loss between roller and eccentric have a large portion on total mechanical loss.
돼지 장관으로부터 분리한 Lactobacillus sp. HN 235 균주가 생산하는 항균물질의 특성

In order to develop probiotics which may be a viable alternative of antibiotic use in pig industry, five bacterial strains (Lactobacillus sp. HN 52, 92, 98, 235 and AP 116) possessing antimicrobial properties were selected from 500 strains isolates of pig intestines. The bacteriocin produced by Lactobacillus sp. HN 235 displayed a relative broad spectrum of inhibitory activity against all Enterococcus strains, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Listeria monocytogenes and Clostridium perfringens using the spot-on-lawn method. The production of antimicrobial substance started in the middle of the exponential growth phase, reached maximum levels (6,400 AU/mL) in the stationary phase, and then declined. Bacteriocin activity remained unchanged after 30 min of heat treatment at 95℃ and stable from pH 2.0 to 10 for 1 h, or exposure to organic solvents; however, it diminished after treatment with proteolytic enzymes. The molecular weight of the bacteriocin was about 5 kDa according to a tricine SDS-PAGE analysis.
오리로부터 분리한 Lactobacillus salivarius JWS 58과 Lactobacillus plantarum JWS 1354 균주의 면역활성효과

Lactobacillus salivarius JWS 58 (JWS 58) and Lactobacillus plantarum JWS 1354 (JWS 1354) are isolated from duck intestine and have ability to produce bacteriocin. The objective of this study was to evaluate the immunomodulatory effects of JWS 58 and JWS 1354. The nitric oxide (NO) and cytokines (IL-$1{\beta}$ and TNF-${\alpha}$) were measured in C57BL/6 mouse peritoneal macrophages to determine immune enhancing effects of JWS 58 and JWS 1354. A Listeria (L.) monocytogenes challenge mice model was used to evaluate immune enhancement ability of JWS 58 and JWS 1354 in vivo. The results showed that JWS 58 and JWS 1354 increased the production of NO or cytokines by peritoneal macrophages and that oral administration of viable probiotic strains in mice elicited the immuno-modulatory effect upon L. monocytogenes challenge. JWS 1354 showed stronger immune enhancing effects than JWS 58. Collectively, this study demonstrated that Lactobacillus strain JWS 58 and JWS 1354 possess immune enhancing effect. Furthermore, two stains are expected to use feed supplement to prevent diseases by pathogenic bacteria through releasing bacteriocin and enhancing host immune responses in animal.
독활 에탄올 추출물의 대장암 세포에서 Cyclin D1 단백질 분해 유도를 통한 세포 생육 억제활성

Background: In this study, we evaluated the anti-cancer activity and potential molecular mechanism of 70% ethanol extracts of the root of Aralia cordata var. continentalis (Kitagawa) Y. C. Chu (RAc-E70) against human colorectal cancer cells. Methods and Results: RAc-E70 suppressed the proliferation of the human colorectal cancer cell lines, HCT116 and SW480. Although RAc-E70 reduction cyclin D1 expression at the protein and mRNA levels, RAc-E70-induced reduction in cyclin D1 protein level occurred more dramatically than that of cyclin D1 mRNA. The RAc-E70-induced downregulation of cyclin D1 expression was attenuated in the presence of MG132. Additionally, RAc-E70 reduced HA-cyclin D1 levels in HCT116 cells transfected with HA-tagged wild type-cyclin D1 expression vector. RAc-E70-mediated cyclin D1 degradation was blocked in the presence of LiCl, a $GSK3{\beta}$ inhibitorbut, but not PD98059, an ERK1/2 inhibitor and SB203580, a p38 inhibitor. Furthermore, RAc-E70 phosphorylated cyclin D1 at threonine-286 (T286), and LiCl-induced $GSK3{\beta}$ inhibition reduced the RAc-E70-mediated phosphorylation of cyclin D1 at T286. Conclusions: Our results suggested that RAc-E70 may downregulate cyclin D1 expression as a potential anti-cancer target through $GSK3{\beta}$-dependent cyclin D1 degradation. Based on these findings, RAc-E70 maybe a potential candidate for the development of chemopreventive or therapeutic agents for human colorectal cancer.
유제품으로부터 Bifidobacteria의 선발 및 계수를 위한 선택배지

유제품에서 다른 유산균들과 혼합하여 사용되고 있는 bifidobacteria를 선발하고 계수하기 위하여 두가지 선택배지를 제조하였다. 하나는, phage의 숙주에 대한 감염 특이성을 이용한 것으로서 bifidobacteria와 혼합되어 있는 다른 유산균을 숙주로 하는 phage를 배지에 첨가하여 숙주 유산균을 용균시킴으로써 bifidobacteria에 대한 선택 배지로 사용하는 것이다. 즉, bifidobacteria와 L. casei HY 2782가 혼합된 유제품에서, L. casei HY 2782를 숙주로 하는 J1 phage를 첨가한 BL 배지를 사용하여 bifidobacteria를 계수한 결과, 완전하게 bifidobacteria만을 계수할 수 있었다. 따라서 항생제를 함유하는 선택배지가 아닌 새로운 선택배지로서 그 응용가능성을 제시하였다. 둘째로는 항생제 Tetracycline(1 ㎍/㎖)을 첨가한 선택배지로서 상업적으로 사용되는 bifidobacteria 균주의 성장에는 영향을 주지 않는 반면, Str. salivarius subsp. thermophilus, L. acidophilus, 그리고 L. casei 등의 성장은 억제하였다. 이러한 결과 tetracycline을 사용한 선택배지는 다른 항생제 배지들보다 유제품에 있는 bifidobacteria의 생균수를 정확히 표현해 주었다. Phage utilizing medium and BL agar supplemented with antibiotic Tc(tetracycline) were developed as selective media for the isolation and counting of bifidobacteria in dairy products. The former was based on the host specificity of phage. When bifidobacteria and Lactobacillus casei HY 2782 were mixed together in dairy product, L. casei HY 2782 was lysed by J1 phage which has host specificity to L. casei HY 2782 whereas bifidobacteria grew well on the selective medium added with J1 phage. The latter was found to inhibit the growth of S. salivarius subsp. thermophilus, L. acidophilus, and L. casei, but commercial bifidobacteria grew well in Tc-containing BL agar.
유산균 투여가 건강한 성인의 분변미생물 및 부패산물 생성에 미치는 영향

유산균의 장내균총과 부패산물 생성에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위하여, 건강한 성인 남녀 6명의 지원자에게 Lactobacillus acidophilus 와Bifidobacterium longum으로 제조한 유산균분말(각각 1.5×10 exp (9) cells)을 하루에 2회씩 2주동안 섭취하도록 하였다. 그리고 지원자 분변으로부터 균총수 변화와 부패산물인 암모니아, indole, skatole, p-cresole량을 측정하였다. 유산균의 투여 기간중에 분변내 bifidobacteria의 수가 8.78±0.39(log cfu/g feces±S.D)에서 9.27±0.29로 증가하였고(p<0.05) 투여 중지후에는 약간 감소하였으며, lactobacilli의 수는 6.15±0.80에서 6.76±0.48로 증가하였다(p<0.05). Enterococcus 균수는 투여 기간중에 6.66±0.80에서 7.72±0.40으로 증가하였다가 투여 중지후에는 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 그리고 혐기성균인 Bacteroides는 투여중에 8.45±0.34에서 9.15±0.21으로 증가하였으나(p<0.01), 유해균주로 알려진 Closridium(lecithinase negative)과 Staphylococcus 균수는 현저히 감소하였다. 그러나, 유산균 투여 실험기간인 6주 동안 분변내 암모니아, indole, skatole, p-cresole의 유의적인 농도변화는 없었다. To investigate the effects of lactic acid bacteria administration on fecal microflora and putrefactive metabolites in human being, Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium longum powder (1.5×10 exp (9) cells, respectively) was administrated to six healthy volunteers (average 28 years old) twice a day for 2 weeks. During the administration of lactic acid bacteria, the numbers of bifidobacteria, lactobacilli, and enterococci in feces were increased significantly, whereas those of Staphylococcus and lecithinase-negative Clostridium were decreased considerably. In addition, a number of anaerobic Bacteroides were increased. However, the contents of fecal ammonia and putrefactive metabolites (indole, skatole, p-cresole) were not changed during the administration.
