2006 Applied Science and Convergence Technology Vol.15 No.4
We have performed density functional theory calculations for the surface structure of O/Pd(100)-p($2{\times}2$), formed by the adsorption of oxygen atoms of 0.25 ML. The oxygen atoms adsorb preferentially at the fourfold hollow site, and the calculated O-Pd bond length is $2,15{\AA}$, The first interlayer spacing ($d_{12}$) of Pd(100) expands by +0.8% due to the oxygen adsorption, which differs from the experimental value of +3.6% reported by a previous LEED study. Assuming that the LEED sample was possibly contaminated by hydrogen atoms, we also examined the effect of hydrogen impurities on the surface structure. Hydrogen atoms adsorbed on O/Pd(100)-p($2{\times}2$) are found to result in large expansions of $d_{12}$ of Pd(100). Our analysis estimates the amount of hydrogen atoms remaining on the LEED sample as -0.3 ML.

Cerebral vessels are functionally and structurally specialized to provide adequate blood flow to brain which shows high metabolic rates. Cerebral hemorrhage or ischemic infarction due to cerebrovascular injury or occlusion can cause the immediate brain damage, and if not treated rapidly, can lead to serious or permanent brain damages, and sometimes life-threatening. Unlike these popular cerebrovascular diseases, there are diseases caused by genetic problems. Cerebral autosomal dominant arteriopathy with subcortical infarcts and leukoencephalopathy (CADASIL) is one of them. CADASIL does not show the high incidence, but it is considered to be significantly affected by regional obstructiveness such as islands and therefore, to be an important genetic disease in Jeju. This paper aims to summarize the possibility of animal model research that can provide preclinical data for CADASIL disease research and to evaluate its applicability in future research plans.

In the case of frequent braking, when driving downhill or long distance, conventional brakes using friction are problematic in braking safety due to brake rupture and fading phenomenon. Therefore auxiliary brakes is essential for heavy vehicles. And several research has been actively conducted to improve energy efficiency by regenerating mechanical energy into electric energy when the vehicles brake. In this paper, a voltage control method is utilized to recover the electric energy generated in the electromagnetic retarder instead of the eddy current. To regenerate the braking energy into the electrical energy, a resonant L-C circuit is configured in the retarder. The retarder can be modeled as self-excited induction generator due to its operating principle. The driving conditions according to the retarder’s parameters are made into 3-D maps. Also, the voltage of the resonant circuit changing depending on the driving pulse applied to the FET was analyzed. For the control of this voltage, we proposed an algorithm using the PI controller. The controlled voltage is converted by a 3-phase AC/DC converter and then charged to a battery inside the heavy vehicles through a DC/DC converter. Electromagnetic retarder and its controller are validated using Matlab Simulink. We also demonstrate the voltage controller through the actual M-G set experiment.
Vol.2017 No.7
본 논문에서는 에너지 회수를 최대화하기 위하여 전기자동차의 PMSM(Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine)으로부터 발생된 전압을 제어하는 방법을 다룰 것이다.

The objectives of this study were to analyze environment in the forest and growth characteristics for investigating the characteristics of Robinia pseudoacacia distribution in a Pinus thunbergii forest at the coast. As a result of analyzing inhibitory factors of Robinia pseudoacacia distribution in a Pinus thunbergii forest at the coast, it is considered that the salt level included in a sea wind is supposed to be the primary factor of the slow growth for Robinia pseudoacacia since brown leaves, wilting and early leaf fall have appeared in the 0m spot from the artificial dune which has the high salt level. However, the soil properties and light environment hardly have a effect on the growth of Robinia pseudoacacia because there is no difference among planting places. Also, the growth ring of the horizontal root in 2year individuals 0.1~0.2m away from the dune have been formed for 1 year only as a consequence of analyzing growth rings of Robinia pseudoacacia growing on the coast. It can be infered that the nourishment of the horizontal root from individuals growing on the coast have been provided for the first 1 year only. It is estimated that, in case of the nearby areas on the coast, it is not enough to provided nourishment to the horizontal root due to obstructing the growth of new individuals by a sea wind, so the growth of the horizontal root would be hampered. Therefore, it is considered that impedient Robinia pseudoacacia distribution in a Pinus thunbergii forest at the coast is caused by making no growth of new horizontal roots and newborn individuals.
