        Analysis of the Reduction Gear in Electric Agricultural Vehicle

        In electric agricultural machine a reduction gear is needed to convert the high speed rotation motion generated by DC motor to lower speed rotation motion used by the vehicle. The reduction gear consists of several spur gears. Spur gears are the most easily visualized gears that transmit motion between two parallel shafts and easy to produce. The modelling and simulation of spur gears in DC motor reduction gear is important to predict the actual motion behaviour. A pair of spur gear tooth in action is generally subjected to two types of cyclic stress: contact stress and bending stress. The stress may not attain their maximum values at the same point of contact fatigue. These types of failure can be minimized by analysis of the problem during the design stage and creating proper tooth surface profile with proper manufacturing methods. To improve its life expectation in this study modal and stress analysis of reduction gear is simulated using ANSYS workbench based on finite element method (FEM). The modal analysis was done to understand reduction gear deformation behaviour when vibration occurs. FEM static stress analysis is also simulated on reduction gear to simulate the gear teeth bending stress and contact stress behaviour.

        서로다른 APF 제재의 적용시간에 따른 법랑질내 불소 흡수량 및 우식 억제효과에 관한 비교 연구

        The purpose of this study was to compare the enamel fluoride uptake and anticariogenic effect following topical application with different physical form of fluoride and application time. The results can be summarized as follows: 1.While the 4-minite application increased the enamel fluoride uptake significantly than 1-minite application regarded of physical form of applied topical fluoride agents,no significant difference could be found between foam and gel type when applied for the identical period of time. 2.The application time or the physical form of topical agents had no significant influence on the reduction of caries lesion. 3.Based upon the above-mentioned results of this study,it cannot be concluded that the amount of enamel fluoride uptake has an absolute impact on the change of lesion depth.Therefore,the clinical applicationm of 1-minite topical fluoride application which appears to have a similar anticariogenic efficacy to 4-minite fluoride application may be encouraged.

        Four 3-alkoxy-6-allylthiopyridazines and 3-chloro-6-allylthiopyridazine were synthesized and their protective effects against oxidative stress and UV-C irradiation were tested. 3-Methoxy-6-allylthiopyridazine and 3-ethoxy-6-allylthiopyridazine did not show protective effect on the oxidative stress but showed the strongest protective effect on UV-C irradiation among the tested compounds. Especially 500 ㎍/㎖ of the two compounds was the most effective concentration.

        소아교정 환자에서의 Strip gingival graft를 이용한 임상 연구

        In keeping with the concept of rapid epithelialization of close wound edges, the strip technique was developed to maximize the area of gingival grafting with less trauma to the donor site or the recipient site. An incision is made and partial-thickness flap is reflected so that stable periosteum is left. The apical mucosal border of the recipient site is sutured to the periosteum. Donor tissues are obtained in 2mm-wide strips, transfered to the recipient site, and sutured. Dry foil and surgical packing are used to stabilize and protect the site during healing. The donor site is rapidly epithelialized (within 10 days) and produced minimal patient discomfort. The strip gingival autograft technique is a simple surgery that result in less discomfort for the patient and provides predictable results.

        A central argument of this paper is that the forces of globalization enhance the vulnerability of the Korean institutions, thus contributing to bring about the economic crisis, along with policy failutre of the government. Recently, the Korean economy has begun to experience difficulties in both domestic and international sectors. Since November 1997 an economic crisis has swept the country. In large part, these dislocations are due to lack of adaptation and improvement of institutions visa-vis globalization. Korea should have removed the unfortunate by-product of development strategies that had brought the country its previous rapid growth, widespread prosperity and reduction in poverty. Korea is now facing a critical historical challenge: how to shape and adapt its institutions to surmount the economic and social problems arising from its own success. The present economic doldrums may be regarded as an important stage in the learning process. Thus, Korea's new challenge in the remaining years of the 1990s is to reform and modify the present economic and social institutions in order to realize the full potential of human beings including the poor in the era of globalization. It is right time to push forward a paradigm shift in policy formulation to take advantage of the current economic crisis. This paper will give an impetus to the policy makers to review a full scale policy framework for social stability, in particular, unemployment and anti-poverty policies. Im conclusion, it si suggested that an immediate action programs for Korea's social stabilization based on the government initiatives and popular participation should be designed and implemented.

        고탁도시 DAF 정수장의 운영 및 진단

        DAF process has been designed considering raw water quality characteristics in Korea. Although direct filtration is usually operated, DAF is operated when the freshwater blooms occur or raw water turbidity become high. Pre-sedimentation is prepared in case when raw water turbidity is very high by rainstorms. A main feature of this plant is that the operation mode can be changed (controlled) based on the characteristics of raw water to optimize the effluent quality and the operation costs. Treatment capacity (surface loading rate) and efficiency of DAF was found to be better than conventional sedimentation process. Moreover, lowdensity particles (algae and alum flocs) are easily separated while it is difficult to remove in sedimentation. One of the main concerns in adoption of DAF (Dissolved-Air-Rotation) process is a high raw water turbidity problem. That is, DAF is not adequate for raw water, which is more turbid than 100MU. In order to avoid this problem, pre-sedimentation basins are prepared in OAF plant to decrease the turbidity of DAF influent. For simulation of the actual operation, bench and full-scale tests were performed for highly turbid water conditions. Consequently, DAF process coupled with sedimentation is suggested that pre-sedimentation with optimum coagulation prior to DAF would be appropriate.

        The purpose of this paper is to recognize Korean/English texts including Proof-correction marks and to correct the texts according to proof-correction marks : leaving space between the words, deleting space between the characters deleting characters mark. For the recognition of the marks, detects mark's boundary pixels first, then extract Features-slant direction and its changes-using depth histogram and its difference value. And the algorithm processes text's proof correction and its re-arrangement. As a result of the recognition, the algorithm recongnizes hand-generated Proof-correction marks exactly and printed Korean and English characters more than 97%.

      • 만성 신부전 환자에서 과도한 수분섭취로 유발된 심한 저나트륨혈증 1예

        만성 신부전에서는 사구체 여과율이 감소함에 따라 농축능은 손상되지만 희석능은 오랜 기간 유지되기 때문에 심한 저나트륨혈증은 잘 발생하지 않는 것으로 알려져 있다. 저자들은 잘못된 민간 의료지식으로 인하여 만성 신부전 환자에서 과도한 수분섭취로 유발된 심한 저나트륨혈증을 합병증 없이 치료한 증례를 경험한 바 있어 보고하는 바이다. Hyponatremia is one of the most common electrolytes imbalances in clinical medicine. However, it may be fatal if not corrected appropriately. In pre-dialytic chronic renal failure patients, severe hyponatremia is rare, because the dilutional capacity of the nephron is well preserved despite of diminished glomerular filtration rate. We report a case of severe hyponatremia induced by excessive water intake in a 33-year-old woman with chronic renal failure, treated successfully with diuretics and 3% saline. She had drunken 2-3 liters of free water daily for 7 days, and nausea, vomiting and dyspnea were developed 2 days later. At admission, serum sodium concentration was 103 mEq/L and serum creatinine was 4.7 mg/dL. Salt and free water intake were restricted and furosemide was administered intravenously, but serum sodium concentration rose only by 2 mEq/L. Then, 3% saline was added and serum sodium concentration rose to 118 mEq/L after 48 hours. On 7th hospital days, serum sodium concentration was 132 mEq/L, the patient discharged without any complication at all.

        표고 폐골목으로 제조한 목질보드의 성질

        要約표고폐골목의 재활용을 목적으로 폐골목과 정상재의 칩을 일정비율로 혼합하여 얻은 목질보드의 성질을 조사, 검토하였다. 그 결과 폐골목의 목섬유는 정상재보다 다소 짧고 표 면이 거칠었으며 폐골목 변재부의 밀도는 정상재에 비해 상당히 낮았다. 파티클보드의 두께 팽윤율 및 파괴계수의 시험결과 폐골목을 25~50% 정도 혼합한 경우는 정상재와 비슷한 값 을 나타냈다.결론적으로 폐골목은 파티클보드의 재료로 사용될 수 있고 정상재와의 혼합비율은 25~50% 범위에서 조정되어야 할 것으로 생각되었다.ABSTRACTTo provide further information for reutilization of the bed-logs decayed by oak mushroomfLentinus edodes), the properties of wood-based board prepared with mixed materials of normal wood and bed-logs were examined.Wood fibers in bed-logs showed different morphology from normal wood fibers, that is, shorter length and rough surface. Thickness swelling increased with increasing mixing ratio of bed-log. On the other hand, modulus of rupture(MOR) in bending strength decreased. In products, the visual surface of board prepared from higher mixing rate of bed-log chips was smooth.Consquently, it is considered that the optimum mixing rate of bed-log to normal wood is the range of 25-50% and the bed-log can be used for raw material of board instead of normal wood.

        정신분열병 환자에서 통계적 확률 해부학 지도를 이용한 확산텐서영상 연구 : 겉보기 확산 계수 지도를 이용한 고찰

        Objectives : Diffusion tensor imaging (DTl) studies of schizophrenia, thus far, have mainly focused on white matter abnormalities reflected in anisotropy indices such as fractional anisotropy (FA), but recently, new implications of apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) have been proposed. This is. to our knowledge, the first study to analyze ADC maps of schizophrenic Patients using statistical parametric anatomical mapping (SPAM). Methods : DTl was performed in 20 schizophrenic patients and an equal number of age- and sex-matched healthy controls. ADC maps were then generated, from which 98 volumes of interest were extracted using SPAM. Probability-weighted mean values of ADC were calculated from each volume of interest and compared between the two groups. Results : Significantly higher mean ADC values were observed in patients with schizophrenia compared to healthy controls in the following volumes of interest: bilateral hippocampal formation, bilateral uncus, nght thalamus, light temporal lobe white matter, right superior temporal gyrus, bilateral insula and right lateral ventricle. Conclusion : The results support the recently proposed assertion that regionally increased ADC may reflect cortical brain atrophy. In addition, a new possibility is raised that a neuropathological event involving both the gray and the white matter may also play a role.
