        Vitreous hemorrhage, which is the major cause of blindness in proliferative diabetic retinopathy, has been prevented clinically with laser photocoagulation. We reviewed 57 cases(98 eyes) of proliferative diabetic retinopathy which were treated by argon laser and followed up for more than 6 months. Of these 98 eyes, 81 eyes(83%) showed a satisfactory response after standard panretinal photocoagulation. 14 eyes(14%) revealed the vitreous hemorrhage after panretinal photocoagulation and higher incidence of vitreous hemorrhage in the cases of new vessel on the optic disc. In the cases(26 eyes) of new vessel on the optic disc, 2000 laser burns revealed lower incidence of vitreous hemorrhage(1/5, 20%) in comparison with 1500 laser burns(8/21, 38%). These results indicate that initial augmented laser therapy prevented the vitreous hemorrhage effectively.

      • 韓國産 脣形(꿀풀)科 植物에 關한 本草學的 硏究

        A Herbalogical Study in the Plants of Labiatae in Korea. For the purpose of developing Korean Herbgalogy with the plants of Labiatae which grow wild and is planted in korea, the these and writings on herbalogy, from literature of successive generations, have been throughly investigative and the results obtained were as follows: 1. There were totaled to 27 genera and 86 species in Korea and among them medical plants are 24 genera, 59 species, some 68% in total but, the number of species may be added because of the similar plants. 2. According to the oriental names which can be used for medical purpose, the medical plants belonging to the Labiatae family were classified as Herba 29, Radix 4, Fructus 3, Folium 2, Lignum 2, Semen 1 and Flos 1. 3. According to sum of 86 species in Labiatae family, they were classified into Scutellaria genera 10, Salvia genera 6, Ajuga genera 5, Clinopodium genera 5, Elsholtzia genera 5 and Mosla 5. Thus it was noticed that Scutellaria genera was the main kind, some 12% in total. 4. According to the number of species of the original plants about each chinese materia medicals, they were classified into HERBA AGASTACHIS 5 and HERBA AJUGAE, HERBA SCUTELLARIAE, HERBA LYCOPI 3 each. 5. According to nature and flavour of medical plants, they were classified into warmth, heat: 20 each, cold, cool: 16 each, balance 4 and unidentified 2. Thus it was noticed that warmth and heat is the main in nature and flavour medicinal plants. 6. According to the Properties and Principal curative action, they were classified into drugs for clearing up heat and toxin 8, drugs for clearing up heat and dispelling pathogenic heat from blood, drugs for clearing up heat and heatstroke 3 each, drugs for activating the blood and removing blood stasis, drugs which is sudorific and pungent in nature and flavour for dispelling wind and cold in the treatment of exterior symptom complex 4 each. Thus it was noticed that drugs for clearing up heat was the main kind. 7. Comparing to whole medical plants 42 kinds, toxic drugs include minor toxin were 3 kinds, 7% of the whole. Thus toxic drugs were rare. From this result, it was revealed that the plants for medical purpose in Labiatae was 68% of the whole, in which HERBA was mostly abundunt and toxic plants was so rare that it will be used for clinical treatment more easily. It is considered that many experiements and clinical approches must be continued to use Labiatae plants widely.

        디프테리아 患者血淸內의 Immune Globulin에 關한 硏究

        Quantitative measurement of the serum immune globulin(IgG, IgA and IgM) were conducted on 32 diphtheria patients, ranging in age from 5 to 15 years, who were treated at the Seoul National University Hospital. Their diagnosed of clinical, serological and bacteriological check-ups. Lim's method was used in calculating levels of immune globulin, i.e. IgG, IgA and IgM, in serum. 1) Immune globulin levels in the serum of diphtheria patients were as follows: a) IgG value is 1,779.2㎎±㎎320.0㎎/100㎖(S.D.), p-value 5.26% b) IgA value is 293.3㎎±63.4㎎/100㎖l(S.D.), p-value 3.36% c) IgM value is 116.2㎎±26.6㎎/100㎖(S.D.), p-value 0.001% 2) IgG levels in the serum of diphtheria patients were lower than was the case with healthy Koreans and control group but higher compared to healthy westerners. 3) IgA levels in diphtheria patients were lower than in control group but higher as compared with healthy Koreans and westerners. 4) IgM levels in diphtheria patients were higher than in control, healthy Koreans and westerners.

      • 외기요법이 체표온도 변화에 미치는 영향

        This study is about the relationship between the effect of Radiating Qui Therapy on human body and the resulting subjective qui sensation. Patients were between 30 and 50 years of age. n=21 persons received DITI (n=14 patients were provided, n=9 control group) twice examination with Radiating Qui Therapy. First all patients were examined by DITI. After treatment with Radiating Qui Therapy (n=14) both the treated and the control groups were eaxmined again. Radiating Qui Therapy is provided upright position. After Radiating Qui Therapy 92% of the treated group felt a significant qui sensation and 43.5 % felt a warmth at the abdomen and over the whole body. A data of this study show Radiating Qui Therapy has s stimulating effect on human skin temperature. As disease region and Qui sensation are very closely related to each other results strongly suggest that Radiating Qui Therapy could be used as a treatment for a several disease.

        We have studied on the fabrications Cu\Al_2O_3\Cu IGBT substrates produced by brazing method with Cu-Ag alloyed filler metal containing 1 to 4wt%Ti. For a braze cycle of 1 hour at 900℃ loading at 300g and cooling rate was 10℃/min down to the room temperature in the furnace. The Cu/Al_2O_3 joints for use Cu-Ag-3wt%Ti filler metal has shown the superior mechanical, thermal and electrical properties which is arisen from the difference of the microstructure, layered thickness and composite distribution in the metallized layer.

      • MRAC를 이용한 로보트 매니퓰레이터의 制御性能 向上에 관한 硏究 : Model Reference Adaptive Controller

        This paper is study on trajectory property of 6 DOF robot manipulator. This paper used to adaptive control and p-d(proportional-derivated) control for control methods, Simulation robot is stanford 6-dof robot manipulatr of stanford university. Main results obtained through this paper are summarized as followings. At each links, adaptive control has more excellant control than p-d control. At 1-st link, adaptive control and p-d control has a little error at 3.0 second. At 2 nd link, adaptive control and p-d control has a little error than other links without 3-rd link, At 3-rd link, two control methods has a superiority control results than other links with two control methods. At 5-st link, p-d control error is a most great than other links. Therefore, the adaptive control applications for 6-dof robot manipulator has a very excellant capability than applying classical p-d control.

      • 삼나무품종의 조직구조와 재질과의 관계

        The anatomical features of tracheids were examined for comparing the wood qualities of Sugi cultivars ( Bokasugi , hidarimakisugi). The results obtained are as follows : 1. As examining the cross section of Bokasugi in four locations(16th, 20th, 25th, 30th rings from the pith), along four directions(north, south, west east) the double thickness of tangential wall and the lumen width in radial direction were not significantly different in the latewood but in the earlywood. 1. As comparing individual rings in the same direction, there were no significant difference in the radial width of lumen in latewood but were in the earlywood. However, there was no consistent pattern which exists along four direction and location. 1. As comparing the cross sections of both Bokasugi and Hidarimakisugi in four ring along north direction, the double thickness of tangential wall of the tracheids were larger in Hidarimakisugi than in Bokasugi, but the lumen width in radial direction exhibited a tendency to be larger in Bokasugi than in Hidarimakisugi. 3. The microfibril angles of the 13th and 25th ring in the north direction were larger in Bokasugi(40˚, 34˚) than in Hidarimakisugi(29˚, 22˚).

      • 코르크참나무 수피(코르크)의 물리적 성질에 관한 연구

        The anatomical, physical and mechanical properties of the bark of Quercus suber L. were examined for comparing with those of Quercus variabilis Blume. The results obtained are as follows ; 1)The cork tissue consists of cork cells(92.9%), lenticels(4.6%), sclereids(0.6%) and darkbrown zone(1.8%). 2)The average ring widths and the percentage of late cork were 2.06mm and 10.6%, respectively. 3)Density in oven-dry and in air-dry of the cork were 0.18g/cm3 and 0.19g/cm3, respectively. 4)The amounts of water absorption for 24 hours, in the tangential, cross and radial sections were 1.00×10-2, 0.53×10-3 and 0.49×10-2(g/cm2), respectively. 5)E.M.C. for the cork(7.1%) was found about 5% lower than that for woods. 6)Total shrinkage and swelling of the cork were slightly smaller in the radial direction than in the tangential and longitudial directions, but shrinkage and swelling could be considered isotropic practically. 7)The modulus of elasticity on compression in radial direction(484kgf/cm2) was approximately twice of those in tangential(316kgf/cm2) and longitudial direction(282kgf/cm2). 8)When compressed 0.1, the cork recovered almost to its original dimension in all three directions, immediately after being unloaded. However, when 0.5 compressed, cork recovered by about 80% immediately after being unloaded and after 24 hours had recovered by approximately another 5%.
