CLINICAL STUDY ON KOREAN POSTERIOR MAXILLAE RELATED TO DENTAL IMPLANT TREATMENT

Purpose of study: The purpose of this study was to provide adequate diagnostic guideline for the maxillary sinuses prior to dental implant treatment for edentulous posterior maxillary areas. For this purpose, our procedure involves the estimation of the remaining alveolar bone height, the examination of the anatomical variation in the maxillary sinuses (e.g. sinus septum), and the evaluation of the incidence of preoperative pathological conditions in the maxillary sinuses. Materials and Methods: We selected 189 patients to undergo computerized tomography (CT) in order to account for the posterior maxillary anatomy found in patients of Korean ethnicity. We evaluated the following using Dentascan software: Remaining alveolar bone height, incidence of sinus septum, and rate of preoperative pathologic conditions in the maxillary sinus. The average amount of remaining alveolar bone height was analyzed using the student's t-test for differences according to anatomical site, and the ANOVA was used for the differences according to age group with the level of significance set at 0.05. Results: Alveolar bone heights of upper first premolar, second premolar, first molar, and second molar was 12.24 mm, 10.37 mm, 7.16 mm, and 7.15 mm, respectively with statistical significance (P < 0.05). Incidence of sinus septum as an anatomic variation was 17 out of 189 cases (9.0%). Incidence of mucosal thickening as a pathologic variation was 82 out of 189 cases (43.4%). Conclusion: In treatment planning of posterior maxillary edentulous area of Koreans, the consideration of augmentation surgery for maxillary sinus is required in maxillary molar area before dental implant installation, and preoperative screening of the asymptomatic maxillary sinuses can be regarded as a reasonable preoperative procedure in the planning of dental implant treatment on the posterior maxillary edentulous area.

Between January 1976 and March 1997, six patients with delayed presentation of traumatic diaphragmatic hernia occured among the 52 patients of traumatic diaphragm rupture, of whom four males and two females, five by blunt trauma and one by stab wound, one was right side and the rest were left side. In all patients, reduction of herniated organs was accomplished by thoracotomy or thoracotomy with extension to abdomen. Suspicion of the diaphragmatic ruture from the acute traumatic chest injured patient is important and we can use the videothoracoscopy for evaluation and treatment of the traumatic diaphragm rupture 저자들은 1976년 1월 부터 1997년 3월 까지 21년간 외상성 횡격막 파열 52례 중 지연성 외상성 횡격막 탈장 6례를 치험 하였는데 이중 남자는 4례, 여자는 2례였으며 우측은 1례였다. 둔상에 의한 경우는 5례였고 자상은 1례였다. 수술은 모두 개흉술을 시행 하였고 복부로 절개를 연장한 경우가 1례 있었다. 외상성 흉부 손상을 입었을 때 횡격막 파열을 의심하는 것이 중요하며 흉강경을 이용하여 진단및 치료를 할 수 있다.
DMZ 일원의관속식물상1 -민통선 이북 서부지역(파주-연천)-

본 연구는 민간인출입통제구역 서부전선(파주-연천) 일대의 식물상을 파악하기 위하여 현지조사를 실시하였다. 확증표본을 근거로 한 민통선 이북 서부지역의 관속식물은 109과 330속 501종 8아종 48변종 1품종의 총 558분류군으로 확인되었다. 한반도에 분포하는 식물종은 최근에 유입된 귀화식물을 비롯하여 약 4,880여종의 식물이 보고되었으며 한반도 전체 식물의 약 11% 정도가 민통선 이북 서부지역 일대에 분포하는 것으로 나타났다. 환경부 지정 멸종위기야생 생물은 Ⅱ급 층층둥굴레 1분류군이 확인되었으며, 태풍전망대에서 임진강에 이르는 군작전로 가장자리에 3개체가 생육하였다. 식물구계학적 특정식물은 Ⅴ등급 3분류군, Ⅳ등급 3분류군, Ⅲ등급 13분류군, Ⅱ등급 13분류군, Ⅰ등급22분류군으로 구성되었다. 한반도 고유식물은 고려엉겅퀴 등 4분류군으로 나타났으며, 대부분 숲 절개지 또는 숲가장자리에 분포하였다. 희귀식물은 위기종(EN) 층층둥굴레 1분류군, 취약종(VU) 느리미고사리 등 4분류군, 약관심종(LC) 쥐방울덩굴 등 6분류군으로 총 11분류군이 확인되었다. 귀화식물은 총 51분류군으로 귀하율은 9.14%, 도시화지수는 15.89%로 산출되었으며 환경부지정 생태계교란식물은 단풍잎돼지풀 등 4분류군이 확인되었다. 본 연구는 DMZ생태축의 서부지역 식물상 연구를 수행하고 주요 식물의 분포 양상과 보존대책을 위한 기초자료를 제공하고자 하였다. This study was carried out to investigate the flora of the western front (Paju-Yencheon Area) of the Civilian Control Zone. Vascular plants collected in these areas were a total of 558 taxa composing of 501 species, 3 subspecies, 48 varieties and 1 forma of 330 genera under 109 families This shows that 11% of the 4,880 vascular plant species that are known to exist in Korea is distributed in the western part of the DMZ. 1 taxa of endangered species designated by the Ministry of Environment was found: the Polygonatum stenophyllum Maxim in the edge of the military operation road from Taepung observatory to Imjin river. For the floristically specific ones of the Korean floristic zones, 3 taxa of the 5th grade, 3 taxa of the 4th grade, 13 taxa of the 3rd grade, 13 taxa of the 2nd grade and 22 taxa of the 1st grade were found. For the endemic species of Korea, 4 taxa including Cirsium setidens (Dunn) Nakai were confirmed to be distributed mostly on the slope or the cutting area. Among the collected rare plants (11 taxa), there were 1 taxa of endangered species, 4 taxa of vulnerable species and 6 taxa of least concern species. Also, 51 taxa of naturalized plants were identified and 4 taxa of ecosystem disturbance organism designated by the Ministry of Environment were identified. The urbanization index and naturalization index for all species were estimated to be 15.89% and 9.14% respectively. Our survey is expected to be considered as primary data of biological diversity and ecological axis in the DMZ and the western part of the DMZ. According to the results of this study, it is thought to be necessary to establish policies for conservation and protection of the DMZ.
