        현직 영어과 교사연수에 관한 연구동향 분석

        The purpose of this study is to analyze the research conducted on in-service teacher education (ITE) for Korean teachers of English and to discover the education trends and the implications of the research in order to suggest future research agendas. For this purpose, 65 academic articles, published up to 2014, were selected and reviewed from 5 different perspectives such as the historical period, the school level, the research methodology, the in-service education type, and the research theme. First, the results show that research on the topic was first published in 1980s and has been increasing rapidly since 1998. Second, studies dealing with secondary school teacher training were much greater in number, followed by studies on elementary schools and studies that incorporated both elementary and secondary schools. Third, quantitative methods were mostly used in the existing research. Fourth, concerning the training types, intensive in-service English teacher training has received the primary focus in research. Fifth, many studies deal with two themes: development and evaluation of teacher education. Based on these findings, this study provides a systematic and comprehensive overview of research focuses in the field of ITE and suggests some practical directions for future research on the topic of ITE.

        심화 연수를 통한 영어교사의 전문성 인식 및 발달 변화

        본 연구에서는 영어 교사 전문성에 대한 인식과 발달이 심화 연수를 통해 어떻게 변화하는지에 관해 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 2016년 상반기 6개월 심화 연수에 참여한 초·중등 교사 128명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 초·중등 교사들은 영어 교사가 갖추어야 할 전문성 가운데, 신념 및 태도 기반 전문성을 가장 중요하게 인식하고 있는 것으로 드러났다. 둘째, 전문성에 대한 중요성 인식에 있어서 중등 교사의 경우 연수 참여 이후 실행과 신념 및 태도 기반 전문성에 대한 중요성 인식이 통계적으로 유의미하게 상승하였으나, 초등 교사의 경우 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 셋째, 교사 본인의 전문성에 대한 인식에 있어서 초·중등 교사 모두 연수 참여 이후 본인들의 지식·실행·신념 및 태도 기반 전문성이 모두 발달하였다고 인식하고 있는 것으로 드러났다. 마지막으로 영어 교사 전문성에 대한 중요성 인식과 본인의 전문성에 대한 자기인식 간의 차이를 살펴본 결과, 중등 교사의 경우 지식 기반 전문성에 있어서, 초등교사의 경우 세 영역 모두 여전히 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 있는 것으로 드러났다. 이와 같은 결과를 바탕으로 향후 심화 연수에서는 영어 교사들의 신념 및 태도 기반 전문성 발달에 좀 더 초점을 맞출 필요가 있으며, 초·중등 교사 대상의 심화 연수를 독립적으로 개발하고 운영할 필요가 있음을 제안한다. The purpose of this study is to investigate how English teachers’ perceptions of professionalism has changed and how their professionalism has developed after taking the Intensive English Teacher Training Program (IETTP). To achieve this goal, a questionnaire survey was conducted to 72 elementary school teachers and 56 middle school English teachers who participated in the 2016 IETTP. The major findings are as follows. First, both primary and middle school teachers experienced a perceptual change and a development in respect of Knowledge-based, Performance-based, and Belief and Attitude-based professional competence. Second, of the three professional competence, the Belief and Attitude-based professional competence was perceived as the most important one by both primary and middle school teachers. Third, Along with the pedagogical implication of these results, it is suggested that the future IETTP needs to place great emphasis on English teachers’ Belief and Attitude-based professional development. It is also required that IETTP needs to be developed independently based on each school teachers’ needs and circumstances.

      • 패션 일러스트레이션을 활용한 에코백 디자인 개발

        The echo friendly bags first came into the world for preserving environment by reducing the disposable vinyl bags, which became fashion items. It’s very common to put some messages or illustrations into the surface because they are cloth bags with simple structure in general. The purpose of this study was to design the echo friendly bags using fashion illustration that satisfy the modern sensible consumers. The methods of this study were to make the design development through literature research and a case study of echo friendly bags. Through the research on the trend of echo friendly bags with illustration, designs were developed with two different concepts as the flat drawing using computer graphic program such as photoshop CS5 and Illustrator CS5. The first concept, ‘Girl's Pent up Desire’, used the fashion illustration that emphasize girlish feeling with a little bit gloomy mood. The second concept, ‘Girls Be Unlimited Cherub’ expressed free spirit of kitsch and street fashion with unique character and vivid color arrangement.

        초등학교 영어교육 활성화를 위한 영어도서관 활용 방안에 관한 조사연구

        The purpose of this study is to investigate the perception of parents, teachers, and students on what is needed to operate and use English libraries in elementary schools. To achieve this goal, questionnaires were collected from 710 students, 590 parents, and 288 teachers nationwide. The survey consisted of ten questions in four categories: the necessity of English libraries in schools, material resources and human resources in English libraries, types of activity programs, and suggestions on the efficient use of English libraries. The results of the survey were analyzed on a 100-point scale to show the preference of the three groups of respondents. The results of the survey were as follows: first, all three groups considered English libraries in schools helpful for elementary school English education. Second, English libraries in schools should not only be a place for reading books, but also a place for activity-based learning. Third, parents and teachers agreed that English libraries in schools can be successful when there is a consistent supply of materials and human and financial support. Finally, English libraries in schools need to be operated by well-trained experts to help learners use the facilities more effectively. 본 연구는 영어 친화적 환경 조성의 일환으로 최근 추진되고 있는 학교 영어도서관 구축과 관련하여 그 활용성과 효용성을 제고하고자 학생,교사,학부모의 인식에 대한 설문 조사를 목적으로 이루어졌다. 설문은 전국적으로 학생 710명,학부모 590명,교사 288명을 대상으로 실시하였으며,영어도서관이 영어교육에 도움을 주기 위해서 어떻게 구축되어야 하는지에 대해 10개 문항으로 질문하였다. 조사내용을 분석한 결과,설문 참여 집단 모두 영어도서관이 영어교육에 도움이 된다고 응답하였고,집단별로 약간 차이는 있었지만 상당수의 설문 참여자는 영어도서관이 기존의 다른 시설과 별도로 구축되는 것이 바람직하며,영어도서관에서 다양한 활동이 이루어져야 한다는 데에 동의하지만 집단별로 선호하는 활동은 약간씩 달랐다. 이러한 연구 결과를 볼 때,영어도서관은 도서는 물론 다양한 활동을 경험할 수 있는 시설과 프로그램을 갖춘 별도의 공간으로 만들어지는 것이 바람직하다.

        현직 영어 교사연수 효과에 관한 혼합 연구

        Teachers’ in-service training is a basic management practice in running the national curriculum which requires English teachers to keep up with changes within the English educational paradigm. In this vein the in-service English teacher training has been provided, but the discussions on the effects are mixed. Specifically, the teaching method, language proficiency, and affective attitudes are positive, on the other hand, the applicability of the training is negative. This paper investigated the effects of in-service English teacher training in areas of teaching method, English proficiency and affective attitudes. A mixed method approach explored 29 papers (13 applying a quantitative approach and 16 a qualitative approach) for their meta-analytic comparison. The CMA (comprehensive meta analysis) and Nvivo were used for quantitative meta analysis and qualitative data thematic discovery separately. The result shows that teachers’ teaching proficiency, language proficiency and affective attitudes had improved, but the sustainability of the initial effects are questioned in English classes. The suggestion is made to narrow the gap between the content of training and the school setting.
