C의 재귀 호출로부터 동적 구조를 활용한 VHDL로의 변환

하드웨어와 소프트웨어의 통합 설계 방법을 사용하면 다양한 신호처리 시스템을 설계 시간 및 비용에 있어서 효율적으로 구축 할 수 있다. 기존에 연구된 C로 구현된 다양한 신호 처리 시스템을 통합 설계 환경에서 효과적으로 활용하기 위하여 C로 구현된 알고리즘을 하드웨어 설계 언어(VHDL)로 변환할 필요성이 있다. C를 VHDL로 변환하는 경우 특히 동적 할당, 포인터, 재귀 호출 구문의 변환이 용이하지 않다. 본 논문에서는, 현재까지 소프트웨어로 구현되어 왔던 재귀 호출문을 동적 구조를 활용하여 VHDL 구문으로 변환하는 방법론을 제시하고자 한다. 이를 통해 통합 설계의 하드웨어 소프트웨어 분할시 유연성을 부여할 수 있고, 통합 설계의 궁극적인 목표인 시스템의 전체적인 성능 향상과 설계 시간 단축으로 우수한 목적 시스템을 구축할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. We have to translate the algonlhm C to hardware descnptlon language(HDL), If portion or the algonlhm needs to be unplcmenled in hardwarc pari of the syslcm. For this translation. it's dtfftcult to handle dynamic memory allocalion, function calls, pointer manipoJalion. This research shows a design method for a hardware model about recursive calls which was classified into software part of the system previously [or the translation from C to VHDL. The benefits of havlIlg recursive calls m hardware structure can be quite high since provides flexbility in hardware/software partitioming in codesign sysem.
건축·인테리어 디자인과정의 커뮤니케이션을 위한 온라인 다중 사용자 가상환경 활용 사례 연구

Architectural & Interior design communication is a process of exchanging information between architects and other professionals, clients, and prospectus users, and a design medium is a means of communication. Using non-immersive, conventional media, it is challenging for architects communicate physical details and users' activities in not yet built three-dimensional buildings to others. Recent advances online, Multi-User Virtual Environments (MUVEs) allow architects and other professionals to experience a virtually constructed building together using anthropomorphic avatars. In addition, MUVEs also enable them to be aware of the presence and activity of each other. Previous studies suggest that the aforementioned characteristics of MUVEs may facilitate communication between architects and others. But these are focused on communication in controlled experimental conditions. This paper discusses the ways in which MUVEs are applied for authentic and long-term collaboration, design studio, and cultural heritage reconstruction projects, produced by digital design group at the UC Berkeley and the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, and analyzes the influences of MUVEs on those projects. MUVEs helped more precise communication between architects, electronic engineers, and medical staffs, who are collaborating for developing pioneering technology for hospitals. In design studios, MUVEs allowed students to experience other students' design outputs, and thus helped them share ideas mutually. In addition, in cultural heritage reconstruction projects, MUVEs were used for communicating with historians and residents in order to collect evidence. Based on this study, we propose that MUVEs have strong potential for enhancing the communication between architects and other professionals.
BIM 기반의 인간행동 시뮬레이션이 건축설계교육에 미치는 효과에 관한 연구 -무장애와 안전 및 피난설계의 성능탐구와 평가를 중심으로-

While the importance of barrier-free and fire evacuation design is highlighted in architectural design education, systemic analysis, and examination on such performances are still challenging due to methodological lacks. The present study investigates the effectiveness of BIM-based human behavior simulation for architecture major students' analytical examinations to promote barrier-free and fire evacuation performances. To achieve such an aim, quasi-experiments were conducted, which compare 50 students' analysis and examination scores according to the use and non-use of the simulation, and the data were collected via participants' survey and interview. As a result, T-Test and MANOVA analyses indicate that, compared with its non-use counterpart, the use of human behavior simulation better facilitates the students' (1) examination of the physical properties and dimensions for the disabled's accessibility and evacuation, (2) understanding of the bodily capacity and handicap of the disabled, (3) examination on the spatial layouts and locations of exits, (4) understanding on evacuees' urgent behaviors, and (5) responsibility as an architect. Based on previous studies, the reasons of statistical results are interpreted as the explicit observation and analytical measures of multiple numbers of virtual-evacuees and direct-experience from body range of the disabled responding to the populated occupants as what they face in authentic reality.
재귀호출을 위한 합성 가능한 VHDL 코드 변환기 설계

시스템을 설계함에 있어 시스템의 성능과 비용 및 시간을 고려한 하드웨어 소프트웨어를 혼합한 통합설계(codesign) 환경이 많이 연구되고 있다. 통합 설계 과정을 자동화하기 위해서는 기술 언어를 툴에 맞게 자동적으로 바꾸어주는 기능이 필요하게 된다. C를 VHDL로 변환하는 방법에서 특히 동적 할당, 포인터, 재귀 호출에 대한 변환이 어렵다. 본 논문은 재귀 호출 부분을 제어부, 연산부, 입력부, 메모리로 나누어 각각을 component로 설계하게 만들었다. C언어로부터 합성 가능한 VHDL로의 변환 중 재귀 호출에 관한 연구를 수행함으로써 상위 수준에서의 시스템 설계를 할 수 있도록 도와주고, C로부터 VHDL로의 변환에 유연성을 부여하여, 설계를 자동화시키는데 기여할 수 있을 것이다.

The word, a color revolution, is being popularized nowadays as economy becomes active and advancement of civilization deeper and deeper. In particular, color has started to be utilized as a practical expression rather than an imaginary or subject of research in information society of 21st century. Taking today`s situation into consideration, color affects our daily lives more than past and becomes intimately relevant. By effecting on physiological and psychological thought of human beings, colors have a great influence on visual communication by performing their function of information transmission. To commercially utilize color as a marketing vehicle through more effective color scheme, therefore, it requires to analyze psychological factor of colors and how it works on human and his psychology. In this thesis, I`d like to research the concept of colors and its effectiveness focused on comparative and analytic study to find the new possibility of colors as a differentiating marketing strategy.
공간의 의미를 연산하는 가상 사용자 모델이 건축설계 전공학생들의 인간행동 시뮬레이션 운용과 이해도에 미치는 효과에 관한 연구

The previous studies argue that using the semantic properties of BIM objects is efficient for simulating the behaviors of autonomous, computer agents, called virtual-users, but such assumption is not proven via evidence-based research approaches. Hence, this present study aims to investigate the empirical effects of a human behavior simulation model equipped the semantics of spaces on the architecture-major students’ operation and understanding of the simulation system, compared to a typical path-finding model. To achieve the aim, this study analyzed the survey and interview data, collected in the authentic design projects. The analysis indicates that (1) using a simulation model equipped the semantics of spaces helps the students’ operation of the simulation, and (2) it also aids understanding the relationship between the variables of spaces and virtual-users (α = 0.74). In addition, the qualitative data inform that the advantages of the simulation model that computes the semantics of spaces stem in the automatic behavioral changes of massive numbers of virtual-users, and efficient detection and activation on the what-if situations. The analysis also reveals that the simulation model has shortcomings in orchestrating the complex data structure between the semantics properties of spaces and virtual-users under multi-sequential scenarios. The results of this study contribute to develop a future design system combining BIM with human behavior simulation.
