2LO-18 에너지 트랜스퍼 조절을 통한 청색 형광 0LED 효율 개선

청색 형광 OLED 효율을 개선하기 위한 새로운 시스템을 개발하였다. 기존 센시타이징 시스템이 가지는 단점인 덱스터 에너지 트랜스퍼를 제어하기 위해, 1~2nm의 두께를 가지는 레이어를 반복적으로 증착하였다. 호스트로 DPEPO를, 어시스턴트 도펀트로는 DMAC-DPS, 형광 물질로 TBPe를 사용하였고, 그 결과 형광 물질인 TBPe의 EQE는 최대 13.1%에서 18.8%까지 증가하여 이 시스템이 효과적으로 작용하고 있다는 것을 보여주었다.

The prevalence of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has led to an increase in the number of patients being treated at medical institutions, including the number of patients requiring surgical treatments. Although the operating room infection control has focused on preventing surgical site infections in patients, a high interest has been shown in preventing infections in the medical staff because of a high risk of exposure of the medical staff to body fluids and respiratory system secretions during surgery when operating on suggested or confirmed patients with COVID-19. A thorough surgical preparation by the medical institution is warranted to protect both the patient and medical staff from contracting infections. The medical institution should closely examine the operation process to maintain the facilities related to the operation and plan the placement of human resources and patient movement. Further, specific guidelines for commodity, environmental, and waste management should be established in accordance with the agency’s situation, and medical workers should be continuously trained using the related guidelines.

A novel emitting layer structure of white organic light-emitting diodes (WOLED) was developed usingexciplex-forming two blue emitters, 2,3,4,5,6-penta(9H-carbazol-9-yl)benzonitrile (5CzCN) and tris(2-(1-(2,4-diisopropyldibenzo[b,d]furan-3-yl)-1H-imidazol-2-yl)phenyl)iridium (Ir(dbi)3). The 5CzCN bluedelayedfluorescence material and Ir(dbi)3 phosphorescent emitter partially formed a red exciplex in themixedfilm. Combination of blue emission from the blue emitters and red emission from the exciplexprovided white emission in the blue emitting 5CzCN and Ir(dbi)3 co-doped device. The WOLED fabricatedusing the blue emitting 5CzCN and Ir(dbi)3 emitters achieved high color rendering index of 90.8 at 100 cd/m2.

Silicon based high triplet energy host materials were synthesized for blue phosphorescent organic light-emitting diodes. Two host materials were developed by coupling diphenylsilane with CN modified carbazole. Two host materials showed HOMO/LUMO as -6.04/-2.47 eV and -6.20/-2.39 eV and high triplet energy over 2.90 eV which is suitable for application as the hosts of deep blue-emitting Ir emitters. The deep blue PHOLEDs using CN modified carbazole based diphenylsilane exhibited high external quantum efficiency over 20% and achieved color coordinate of (0.15, 0.26) and (0.14, 0.23) at 3% doping concentration.
Comparison of N95 Respiratory Mask Fit Testing

Background: In this study, we measured the adherence of the representative N95 respiratory mask products on the current market in Korea, compared, and used the results as reference for selecting masks. Methods: This study was conducted on nurses frequently dealing with patients suspected or diagnosed with airborne diseases at a university hospital in Korea. The fit levels of the three types of masks were measured. A total of 183 people, 48 in product A, 92 in product B, and 43 in product C, participated in the study. The coefficient of adherence to the N95 masks was measured using a quantitative adherence tester (TSI Portcount Pro+8038). Results: Regarding the pass rate of the fit testing, product B showed the highest pass rate in 46 cases (50.0%), followed by 16 cases in product A (33.3%), and one case in product C (2.3%), indicating a significant difference among the products. The overall fit factor of the product was in the order of product B (104.64), product A (82.95), and product C (17.64), which showed that only the overall fit factor of product B was passable. Conclusion: Owing to the difference in fit depending on the type of mask, medical institutions should offer various products; thus, medical service providers can choose an appropriate mask, and regular N95 mask fit testing needs to be mandatory.

A lifetime extending molecular design approach by increasing the bond dissociation energy of the thermally activated delayed fluorescent (TADF) emitters was investigated. A TADF emitter with a molecular design having the donors in a planar manner, 4-(9H-carbazol-9-yl)-6-(9,9″-diphenyl-9H,9′H,9″H-[3,3′:6′,3″-tercarbazol]-9′-yl)isophthalonitrile (TCzIPN), was compared with state of the art green TADF emitter. The two emitters were green TADF emitters with similar peak wavelengths, but the TCzIPN exhibited three times longer lifetime than the current TADF emitter. Analysis of bond dissociation energy of the TADF emitters revealed that the weak CN bond of the TCzIPN was stabilized by small dihedral angle between donor and an aromatic linker. This was confirmed by exciton stability test of the emitters, and the CN bond stabilization effect in triplet excited state was well correlated with the lifetime improvement of the TCzIPN devices.
Bipolar type indolocarbazole host for green phosphorescent organic light-emitting diodes

A bipolar host designed using indolocarbazole as a bipolar moiety was developed by coupling two indolocarbazole moieties via a phenyl linker. The indolocarbazole derived hosts could carry holes and electrons in the emitting layer, functioning as bipolar hosts in the green phosphorescent organic light-emitting diodes. The linker based molecular design was superior to the directly coupled molecular design to match carrier balance for high quantum efficiency in the green phosphorescent devices.
High color rendering index white organic light-emitting diodes using exciplex emission

새로운 백색 OLED 소자의 발광층 구조로서 엑시플렉스를 형성하는 두 개의 청색 발광 물질을 이용하는 방법을 개발하였다. 청색 발광 물질로는 지연 형광 발광 물질인 2,3,4,5,6-penta(9H-carbazol-9-yl)benzonitirile (5CzCN)과 인광 발광 물질인 tris(2-(1-(2,4-diisopropyldibenzo[b,d]furan-3-yl)-<sup>1</sup>H-imidazol-2-yl) phenyl)iridium (Ir(dbi)<sub>3</sub>)을 사용하였으며, 두 청색 발광 물질은 혼합시 부분적으로 적색의 엑시플렉스를 형성하였다. 5CzCN과 Ir(dbi)<sub>3</sub>를 함께 도핑한 디바이스 스펙트럼 측정 결과, 청색 발광 물질로부터의 청색 발광과 엑시플렉스로부터의 적색 발광으로 백색광의 발광을 확인할 수 있었으며 5CzCN과 Ir(dbi)<sub>3</sub>를 함께 도핑한 디바이스는 최대 90이상의 연색지수를 나타내었다.

ifetime enhancement of blue thermally activated delayed fluorescent (TADF) devices was achieved using a carrier separating host structure which was developed using dibenzofuran-triazine type electron-transporting type host materials. Two host materials built on a chemical platform of dibenzofuran-triazine were synthesized as high triplet energy host materials for a blue TADF emitter and were mixed with a common hole-transporting type host. The separation of the carrier channel in the emitting layer lead to voltage reduction, external quantum efficiency increase, and lifetime extension of blue TADF devices.
Highly Efficient Thermally Activated Delayed Fluorescence Emitter by Using New Indole Moiety

We designed and synthesized three emitters with newly synthesized indole moiety. By photoluminescence measurement, the emitters showed Sky-blue, Green and Yellow emission. Three emitters were tested using the same host material in organic light-emitting device. Because of large difference between singlet energy and triplet energy, blue dopant did not show thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) property. In case of yellow dopant, absolute photoluminescence quantum yield was not enough to show TADF property. Green emitter showed the largest external quantum efficiency, which demonstrated the new indole moiety was suitable for green TADF emitter.
