The purpose of this study is to provide a basic data to evaluate realistic load-carrying capacity of bridges by load test. The conventional diagnostic load test, resonance test, and proof load test were carried out on the Ssanggye-1 bridge (RC T-girder bridge). In this paper, general description of test procedure and results are described. More detailed analysis will be followed by other participants of this project.

The purpose of this study is to identify the effect of service recovery efforts in the hotel business. This study tested if there is any significant effect of service recovery on consumers` revisiting intentions. Specifically this study identified the level of satisfaction for tangible and intangible rewards and its impact on service satisfaction, trust, and revisiting intentions. The intermediate effect of trust variable was also identified. In Busan, Ulsan, and Changwon 262 observations who have unsatisfied experiences were surveyed. Results show that there are several critical factors impacting on service recovery. First, both tangible and intangible rewards significantly influencing the service recovery but only intangible reward impact on the trust. It means that intangible rewards including kind attitude, sufficient apology, full understanding in the gust`s shoes are better effect on improving trust. This trust leads more intention to visit after assuring the service quality. This study found customers` trust impacts on their revisiting positively. They revisit and build another level of trust. According to this study the trust cannot be achieved without proper level of rewards program intangible. It is imperative to have progressive rewards and strong recovery strategies to retain regular customers when a company failed to meet their expectation.
Vol.20 No.4
The purpose of this study is to test if there is any significant effect of hotel employees empowerment on service recovery, job satisfaction and organizational commitment. In accordance of theoretical studies and previous examinations, hypotheses have been set to accomplish the objects. The 270 questionnaires were sent to 6 five-star hotels in Seoul and 262 questionnaires were collected. 255 questionnaires were finally analyzed. The findings of this study are summarized as follow: First, empowerment has positive effects on both adaptive recovery and proactive recovery. Second, the effects of hotel employees empowerment on job satisfaction, organizational commitment were positive. Third, both adaptive recovery and proactive recovery have positive effects on job satisfaction, organizational commitment. Forth, the effects of job satisfaction on organizational commitment were positive. It is concluded that hotel employees empowerment has significant effects on service recovery, job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Thus, the managers and owners of hotel should dedicate the empowerment to the employees. By doing this, the hotel can be more profitable and achieve a competitive advantage in the rapidly changing hotel management environment.

This study was conducted to improve performance flow of PACS registration and output of external medical images by developing or adding File Transfer Protocol(FTP) Module on Order Communication System(OCS) and to upgrade efficiency of performance. The numbers of requests for examination of external medical images from January 2004 to December 2007 were investigated and the numbers of cases of examinations and losses were done respectively from January to June, 2007 as a period before the improvement and from July to December, 2007 as a period after it. Satisfaction of persons inputting external medical images of CD was asked directly before and after the improvement. When the numbers of requests for examination of external medical images from 2004 to 2007 2004 were investigated, they were 12,783, 16,774, 21,613 and 27,487 cases in 2004, 2005, 2005 and 2007 respectively. For the numbers of the requests from January to December, 2007 it was the lowest in February by recording 1846 and it was 2800 in October. While the number of loss of external medical images was averagely 3.6 before using FTP Module on OCS, it reduced to 0 and satisfaction increased to 98% after it. By utilizing FTP Module on OSC for PACS registration of external medical images, the images were delivered simultaneously with occurrence of order, PACS registration of many patients was conducted together and CDs were returned to patients immediately after sending images from outpatient clinics or wards to remove possibility of losing them. In addition, because the module was established on OCS and data were sent associated with order, problems related with order were decreased. By eliminating movement distance it was turned out to be very effective in terms of time and space.

N/A Dimensional defects of castings are mainly due to the stresses and strains caused by a nonuniform temperature distribution and phase transformation during solidification and cooling, and by mechanical constraint between the mold and casting. It is, however, nearly impossible to trace movements of the casting and mold during solidification and cooling by experimental measurements for castings with complex shape. Two and three dimensional deformation analyses of the casting and the mold were performed using commercial finite element code, MARC. It was possible to calculate deformation and temperature distribution in the casting and mold simultaneously. Cooling curves of the casting obtained by calculation were close to that measured in the field since it was possible to treat latent heat evolution of the casting which could be divided into two parts, primary and euctctic parts. Mold bent inward just after pouring due to the temperature gradient across the mold thickness, and mold returned to its previous position with time. Plastic deformation occurred at the part of the casting where solidification was slow.
