This study addresses the development of a riding toy with 3 degree of freedom(DOF) motion. A typical riding toy has one input power and it is steered by a handle. However, if omnidirectional wheels are used, the riding toy can perform 3DOFs motion on a 2-dimensional plane by an appropriate combination of input powers without any additional steering means. These input powers are one foot-driven power and two hand-driven powers. In this study, an alternate wheel mechanism is selected for an omnidirectional riding toy; each rear wheel is connected to a differential gear set. This decoupling mechanism improves the intuitional operation of the omnidirectional riding toy. Ergonomics is considered into the design of the omnidirectional riding toy on the basis of accumulated data for physical condition of humans. In this study, the driving mechanism is proposed by simulating a human body as a 4-bar linkage. Each of driving torques of the omnidirectional riding toy is compared with the human strength in each direction. The simulation results show that higher input power is required for the complex motion of the omnidirectional riding toy such as rotational motion but independent motion with one direction only can be obtained by a relatively small input power and the omnidirectional riding toy can be operated at the same speed as typical riding toys with a low speed ratio. Accordingly, the omnidirectional riding toy can be used by 6-7 year-old-boys who have low physical strength.

A serious of test were conducted to examine the effects of the reinforcement length to the geosynthetic reinforced soil (GRS) wall models. The strength for the GRS wall with increased reinforcement length was improved. The failure in GRS wall models shows ductile behavior however the failure in unreinforced wall model shows inelastic behavior.

Objectives: It will be necessary to make statement about the competence targeted in the dental hygienic education that adopts the competence-based curriculum from the standpoint of core competence which the students need to be equipped with in the society. Methods: To achieve the education objective of Dental Hygienics, the information available on the website of the Korean Dental Association, universities and graduate schools were used, and the education objectives of the concerned universities which were posted in the websites of 82 universities from July to August, 2011 were analyzed. Results: C7 and C1 accounted for 21.1%, the highest percentage, in the core capability, while HP1 comprised 79.6% in the health improvement and disease prevention. CM1 stood at 73.7%, the highest percentage, in the community involvement(CM) area, and PC4 accounted for 90.8%, the highest percentage, in the patient care(PC) area. In the professional growth and development(PGD) area, PGD1 was the highest, followed by PGD3. In relation to the comments on the occupational types after graduation, 63.1% of respondents mentioned the dental hygienists at the school, while 33.3% did not make any comment on the dental hygienists. Conclusions It was necessary to re-establish the essential objectives of the graduates based on the competence as the accomplishments of studying and learning in the department of dental hygiene. It may be a useful method to set the competency-based education objective on the basis of the implementation ability and the level of graduates.
치위생(학)과 학생의 셀프 리더십이 임상실습 스트레스와 스트레스 대처방식에 미치는 영향 -대구 경북 중심으로-

Objectives: This study aims to investigate the relationship between the self-leadership and stress of students majoring in dental hygiene in clinical practice. This study will be helpful to cope with clinical practice effectively. Methods: Subjects were 221 dental hygiene students from 4 universities in Daegu and Gyeongbuk. Data were abalyzed by independent t-test and multiple regression analysis. Results: Stress-response was 60.36 points in high self-leadership group and 57.20 points in kow self-leadership group. It was statistically significant. Clinical practice-induced stress was made by self-expectation, rehearsal, and self-criticism. Stress was able to be overcome by self-reward and positive mind. Conclusions: It is necessary to take the curriculum into consideration which can improve the self-leadership before the clinical practice or at the early phase of clinical practice in order to ensure that the students majoring in dental hygiene are exposed to less stress arising from clinical practice and better cope with such stress.

심층수를 음용수화 하는 것은 심층수에 포함되어 있는 붕소 때문에 크게 제약을 받고있다. 붕소는 사람과 식물에게 유독한 것으로 보고되고 있다. 이러한 붕소를 제거하는 유용한 방법이 몇 가지 있는데, 본 논문에서는 해수에 포함된 붕소를 제거하기 위한 붕소제거제를 폴리머 레진 형태로 합성 하였다. 합성된 레진을 IR분석을 통해 특성을 분석하였고, SEM을 이용하여 그 표면을 관찰하였다. 붕소제거능력을 평가하기 위해 레진을 직경이 0.25mm, 0.5mm 및 1.0mm가 되도록 구분하여 준비하고 베치방식의 실험을 통해 그 결과를 관찰했다. The use of deep water as drinking water is greatly limited of significant concentration of boron in sea water. Boron is reported to be toxic for human and plants. Some of possible methods are available to remove boron. The polymeric resins were synthesized to remove the boron from the sea water. The resin was characterized with IR analysis and the morphology was discussed with SEM images. To assess boron removal capacity of the resin, it was distributed in three different bead size i.e., 0.25mm, 0.5mm and 1.0mm. The removal behavior of this resin was examined under the batch experiments.
