Annular elastolytic giant cell granuloma is a rare form of granulomatous dermatosis, characterized clinically by annular plaques with slightly elevated margins, and histopathologically by the phagocytosis of elastic fibers by multinucleated giant cells. It typically occurs in sun-exposed areas of the skin in middle-aged women. However, some cases involving unexposed areas have been described. A 57-year-old man had erythematous plaques on both palms accompanied by a sensation of heat for 2 weeks. Histopathological examination revealed granulomatous infiltration with multinucleated giant cells and elastophagocytosis, which is consistent with annular elastolytic giant cell granuloma. Herein we report an interesting case of annular elastolytic giant cell granuloma that occurred on non-sun-exposed skin, palms. (Korean J Dermatol 2016;54(2):133∼135)
축소모형 실험을 통한 파형강판 합성 하로판형 철도교의 소음성능 평가

도심구간을 통과하는 철도교량의 경우 소음저감 성능이 우수한 교량형식이 요구된다. 개발 중인 교량은 웹을 파형강판으로 적용한 강합성 하로판형 교량이며 철도차량을 감싸는 단면으로 교량단면 자체가 방음벽 역할을 하는 특징을 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 파형강판 합성 하로판형 철도교의 단면 특성으로 인한 소음차단 효과를 확인하기 위해 축소모형을 제작하여 무향실에서 공기전달음 차단 성능평가 실험을 수행하였고 결과를 분석하였다. 폴리머 콘크리트 박막 교면포장 적용을 위한 실제 교량 정적 해석

본 논문에서는 폴리머 콘크리트 박막 교면포장의 적용성을 알아보기 위한 하나의 방법으로 SMA(Stone Mastic Asphalt) 교면포장으로 시공된 실제 교량 및 이와 동일한 조건에서 교면포장을 박막의 폴리머 콘크리트로 대체한 가상의 교량에 대해 정적 해석을 실시하였다. 다양한 교량형식에 대한 평가를 위하여 SMA 교면포장으로 시공된 PSC(Prestressed Concrete) 거더교, 강박스 거더교, PSC 박스 거더교, RC(Reinforced Concrete) 라멘교를 해석하고 비교하였다. 바닥판과 교면포장은 완전히 접착된 것으로 가정하였으며 시공 중 발생한 응력과 처짐은 무시하고 교면포장의 자중과 차량하중으로 인하여 발생된 응력과 처짐을 분석하였다. 해석 결과 가벼운 단위중량과 앓은 두께로 포장지중이 더 작았던 폴리머 콘크리트를 사용한 교량의 응력과 처짐은 SMA를 시용한 교량보다 작은 것으로 해석되었다. 차량하중으로 인해 폴리머 콘크리트를 사용한 교량에 발생한 응력과 처짐은 앓은 포장 두께로 인한 단면이차모멘트의 감소 때문에 SMA를 사용한 교량보다 크게 나타났다. 포장의 지중과 차량하중이 동시에 작용하는 경우에는 지중 감소효과가 지배적으로 작용하여 폴리머 콘크리트를 사용한 교량의 응력과 처짐이 더 작게 나타났다. 향후 교면포장의 공용성 조사와 경제성 분석을 통한 비교 연구가 필요한 것으로 판단된다. In this paper, actual bridges constructed with SMA (Stone Mastic Asphalt) deck pavement and virtual bridges substituted the deck pavement with polymer concrete under the same conditions were statically analyzed to investigate applicability of the thin polymer concrete bridge deck pavements. PSC (prestressed Concrete) girder bridge, steel box girder bridge, PSC box girder bridge, and RC (Reinforced Concrete) rahmen bridge constructed with the SMA deck pavement were analyzed and compared to evaluate various types of the bridge. The bridge deck and pavement were assumed to be fully bonded and the stress and deformation during the construction were ignored while those due to pavement weight and vehicle loading were analyzed. According to the analysis results, the stress and deformation of the bridges using the polymer concrete due to the pavement weight were smaller than those using the SMA because of smaller self weight due to lighter unit weight and thinner thickness of the pavement. The stress and deformation of the bridges using the polymer concrete due to the vehicle loading were larger than those using the SMA because of the smaller area moment of inertia due to the thinner pavement thickness. In case that the pavement weight and vehicle loading applied simultaneously, the stress and deformation of the bridges using the polymer concrete were smaller because effect of self weight reduction was more dominant. Investigation of performance of the bridge deck pavement and analysis of economical efficiency are warranted.
50세 이상 연령층에서 발생한 모기질종의 임상 및 병리조직학적 연구

Background: Pilomatricoma is a benign, appendageal tumor differentiating towards the normal hair follicles and is characterized by basaloid, transitional, and shadow cells. It is most frequently seen in children; however, a bimodal onset distribution is observed in the first and sixth decades. Objective: The purpose of this study was to analyze the clinical and histopathological features of pilomatricomas in patients over 50 years of age, and to compare these features with those occurring in patients under 20 years of age. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the medical records and histopathological findings of 73 patients under 20 years and above 50 years of age. The morphological stages of the tumors were analyzed through histopathological findings. Results: The age of patients in the over 50-year age group ranged from 50 to 82 years, with a mean age of 60 years. The male-to-female ratio was 1.1:1. The duration of lesions was from 1 month to several years, with half of the patients having the tumors for over 12 months. The predilection sites were the head (51%), followed by the upper extremities (21%), neck (15%), trunk (6%), and lower extremities (6%). In 73% of the patients over 50 years of age, pilomatricoma was less likely the suspected diagnosis compared with that in the under 20-year age group. Epidermal cysts were most likely suspected in patients over 50 years of age. Histopathologically, half of the tumors were located in the subcutis, which was not significantly different when compared with pilomatricomas in the under 20-year age group. The most common evolutional stage of tumors was early regressive (52%), followed by late regressive (27%), fully developed (15%), and early stage (6%). Capsulation (9%), inflammatory cell infiltration (60%), multinucleated giant cells (36%), calcification (33%), and ossification (12%) were observed. With the exception of capsulation, there were no significant differences in these histopathological features in pilomatricomas in patients over 50 years of age compared with those in patients under 20 years of age. Conclusion: Pilomatrichomas in patients over 50 years of age show no pain, are located in the head and neck, are present for a long duration, and have various clinical presentations when compared with those in patients under 20 years of age. However, they are not rare tumors in adults. Accordingly, pilomatricomas should be included in the clinical differential diagnosis of a solitary, deep skin tumors presenting in adults, especially when they occur on the head.
