원예활동 환경교육이 유아의 환경감수성과 자연친화적 태도에 미치는 효과

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of environmental education centered on horticultural activities on children's environmental sensitivity and nature-friendly attitude. The subjects of this study were twenty 4-year-olds in the experimental group and twenty more in the comparison group. These groups were given environmental education focusing on horticultural activities. In the experimental group, the environmental education was divided into two sessions, and group discussion activities and environmental education were conducted. As extension activities, walking and workbook activities were conducted. The comparison group received environmental education related to life topics in the Nuri course. As a result of the study, first, in the environmental education centered on horticultural activities, the environmental sensitivity score of young children showed statistically significant improvement in the experimental group compared to the comparative group. Second, the test group showed a statistically significant improvement in the children's nature-friendly attitude score compared to the comparison group. The results of this study show that environmental education centered on horticultural activities has a positive effect on young children's environmental sensitivity and nature-friendly attitudes, which can be enhanced through early childhood education sites. This suggests the viability of designing a teaching-learning program that can be implemented to achieve these goals. 본 연구의 목적은 원예활동 중심 환경교육이 유아의 환경감수성 및 자연친화적 태도에 미치는 효과를 알아보는데 목적이 있다. 만 4세 유아 실험집단 20명과 비교집단20명을 대상으로 원예활동 중심 환경교육을 실시하였다. 실험집단은 원예활동 중심 환경교육을 2차시로 나누어 모둠별 토의활동과 환경교육을 실시하였다. 확장활동으로는 산책활동 및 워크북활동을 실시하였으며, 비교집단은 누리과정 생활주제에 관련해서 환경교육이 실시되었다. 연구결과 첫째, 원예활동 중심 환경교육에서 유아의 환경 감수성점수가 실험집단이 비교집단보다 통계적으로 유의미하게 향상되었다. 둘째, 원예활동 중심 환경교육에서 유아의 자연친화적 태도점수가 실험집단이 비교집단보다 통계적으로 유의미하게 향상되었다. 본 연구의 결과는 원예활동 중심 환경교육이 유아의 환경감수성과 자연친화적 태도에 긍정적인 효과를 미치는 것으로 확인됨에 따라 유아교육현장에서 원예활동 중심 환경교육을 통해 유아의 환경감수성 및 자연친화적 태도를 증진시킬 수 있는 교수-학습프로그램을 적용해 볼 가치가 있음을 시사한다.
Effects of NaCl and Temperature on the Sensory Characteristics of Natural Flavor Enhancers

The objectives of this study were to evaluate the sensory properties of various natural flavor enhancers (NFEs) and to understand the effects of NaCl and temperature on the sensory characteristics of these NFEs. Descriptive analysis was conducted to evaluate six types of NFEs: yeast extract-based NFE, three; fish sauce-based NFE, one; soy sauce-based NFE, one; and hydrolyzed peptide NFE-based, one. The effects of NaCl (no addition vs. addition) and temperature ($20^{\circ}C$ vs. $55^{\circ}C$) were also evaluated. The results showed that the overall flavor intensity and sensory properties of the NFEs differed greatly depending on the NFE source. Two of the yeast extract-based NFEs elicited higher umami intensity than the other NFEs. Addition of NaCl increased some of the savory-related flavors and the perceived viscosity of the sample. Aroma intensities, in general, were enhanced at the higher temperature, whereas flavor, aftertaste, and mouthfeel attributes were perceived to be stronger at the lower temperature.
Investigating Students' Profiles of Mathematical Modeling: A Latent Profile Analysis in PISA 2012

We investigated the classification of learner groups for students' mathematical modeling competency and analyzed the characteristics in each profile group for each country and variable using PISA 2012 data from six countries. With a perspective on measuring sub-competency, we applied the latent profile analysis method to student achievement for mathematical modeling variables - Formulate, Employ, Interpret. The findings showed the presence of 4-6 profile groups, with the variables exhibiting high and low achievement within each profile group varying by country, and a hierarchical structure was observed in the profile group distribution in all countries, interestingly, the Formulate variable showed the largest difference between high-achieving and low-achieving profile groups. These results have significant implications. Comparison by country, variable, and profile group can provide valuable insights into understanding the various characteristics of students' mathematical modeling competency. The Formulate variable could serve as the most suitable predictor of a student's profile group and the score range of other variables. We suggest further studies to gain more detailed insights into mathematical modeling competency with different cultural contexts.
