An infrared-guided missile has been emerging as a major threat against combat aircraft due to its passive guidance characteristics and with recent advances in stealth technology. Hence, the infrared stealth technology and its effectiveness-evaluation technique become more significant than ever before. In this study, we applied missile aerodynamics to lethal range calculation which allowed more precise prediction. CFD analyses were newly involved in estimating drag force characteristics of an infrared-guided missile. Velocity profiles during flight period of the missile were constructed utilizing these drag characteristics and then incorporated into our in-house code to predict corresponding lethal ranges. The results showed that the present method can predict lethal range more appropriately than the previous one with constant velocity profile. As one of the results, if a fighter gains altitude more which reduces less drag of the attacking missile, then the lethal envelope increases significantly more compared to the lock-on envelope.

In this study, the natural frequencies and mode shape of an external mounting pod were verified using the modal analysis and modal testing technique for a pod mounted on an aircraft. The procedure associated with the FEM building of an external mounted pod to predict the dynamic behavior of aircraft structures is described. The simplified FEM reflecting the results of the modal testing of a pod is built through the optimization, applied to the structural dynamic model of an Aircraft, used to verified the stability of vibration and flutter of an aircraft.

In this study, we studied growth chracteristics of lead chromate pigment particles to control particle size. And then, we experimented on operating parameters which are solution pH, initial reactants concentration, and reactants feed rate etc. with precipitation reaction method. The pigment growth chracteristics which is obtained in the experiment are as follows ; (1) We could get small particles in the condition of acidic product solution, and large particles in the condition of basic product solution. (2) The particles size is getting smaller when the initial concentration of product solution is getting diluter. (3) The effect of reactants feed rate is that the growth of particle size is stable when reactant solution is fed slowly. And particle size is not concerned with feed rate of reactants.
