Objective : The aim of this study is to investigate the effectiveness of ShinBaro Pharmacopuncture in the treatment of patients with Lumbar spine Herniated Nucleus Pulposus. Methods : We investigated 20 cases of patients with lumbar disc herniation and devided into two groups. Experimental group were treated with ShinBaro Pharmacopuncture with integrated package treatment and control group were treated the same therapies without ShinBaro Pharmacopuncture. To evaluate the treatment effects of two groups, we used numeric rating scale(NRS), oswestry disability index(ODI). Results : In NRS of lumbar and sciatica pain and ODI, that of experimental group was much more improved than control group, and decrement of NRS of lumbar pain showed statistical significance along with the duration of treatment. Conclusions : ShinBaro Pharmacopuncture was thought to be effective for relieving symptoms of lumbar spine herniated nucleus pulposus, although further study is needed.
This paper describes a robust diagnosis method for a rotor system with a journal bearing. To enhance the robustness of a journal bearing diagnosis system, it is of great importance to define an optimum datum unit for featuring anomaly states of the rotor system. To support the research goal, this study makes use of three measures for class separation, including Kullback-Leibler divergence (KLD), Fisher discriminant ratio (FDR), and a newly proposed measure: probability of separation (PoS). From the viewpoint of class separability, this work found that PoS is more attractive than other methods for quantification of class separation. PoS offers favorable properties like normalization, boundedness, and high sensitivity. A generic algorithm integrated with one of three measures consistently suggested the optimum datum units among the feasible datum units. Optimum datum units were found to be one-cycle for time-domain features and sixty-cycles for frequency-domain features. The support vector machine (SVM) classifier with the optimum datum units was used for diagnosing a normal and three anomaly states. The health classification results showed that the proposed optimum datum units can outperform other datum units.
This study presents a discussion about the topic of attitude formation among students in the subject of East Asian history. What attitudes are sought after in the subject of East Asian history? What kind of effect does the subject of East Asian history have on high school students? This study found that the objectives of the East Asian history subject were “attitude of cultural sympathy,” “attitude of respect for others,” and “attitude of pursuit for mutual development” in the aspect of attitude. It was also found that those attitudes were characteristically exhibited in the students that learned East Asian history. Both the students that learned East Asian history and the ones that did not were still negative about Japan. For all that, the findings of the study highlight that the mean scores of the students that learned East Asian history were higher than those of the ones that did not, which indicates that the subject of East Asian history alleviated the anti-Japanese sentiment of students in a limited fashion and had positive effects on their attitudes. There was a premise that there should be efforts for mutual peace in the perceptions of Japan among the students that learned East Asian history, which shows the educational possibilities of the East Asian history subject in the East Asian era of the 21st century.
Teaching and learning cannot take place in a vacuum. The role of a teacher has a great deal to do with the kind of people the students are and can become. Likewise the role of a teacher is not free from the teacher’s own culture. We are people of a culture, and we carry our cultural heritage into every situation of life, including teaching and learning. Teaching is serving. If teaching is serving, we must serve effectively so our ‘customers’ or students are satisfied. This study is intended to help those who are and are going to work outside of their home cultures, especially in non-western cultures. This is an analysis and exploration of the roles of the teachers in three each different cultural contexts. There are a number of ways of interpreting a teacher’s role. In this study, the writer will examine four different prototype teacher roles based upon a grid group model developed by Lingenfelter through a comparative analysis of teacher’s roles revealed in three different ethnographical studies: Japanese, American, and Kwakiutl.
Current situation of degradable plastics technologies is reviewed. It is found that there are both advantages and disadvantages in current technologies. Current market and legislation on the degradable plastics are also analyzed. Results show that there are still some technological shortcomings and misunderstandings to overcome among consumers. In the future, there should be a standard testing method for evaluating the degradability of each technology.
