유산균을 이용한 발효삼정환의 미생물 특성 및 세포 보호 효과

Objectives: To confirm microbiological change and cytoprotective effect of Samjung-hwan (SJH) which fermented by Lactic acid bacteria from natural fermented SJH. Methods: SJH was fermented by Lactobacillus brevis and Lactococcus lactis subsp. lactis from natural fermented SJH. After 1 week of fermentation, we analysed pH and microbial profiling. We also performed measuring total polyphenol total flavonoid contents and 1,1-Diphenyl-2- picryhydrazyl (DPPH) free radical scavenging activity to investigate antioxidant ability. Cell viability was performed by using HepG2 cell. Results: pH of lactic acid bacteria inoculated group and non-inoculated group was decreased and total counts of lactic acid bateria for both group was increased after fermentation of SJH. Total polyphenol and flavonoid contents and DPPH free radical scavenging activity was increased in both group. Total polyphenol contents of lactic acid bacteria Inoculated group is more increased than non-inoculated group. HepG2 cell viability was increased in both group. Conclusions: SJH fermentd by Lactobacillus brevis and Lactococcus lactis subsp. lactis shows change in microbiological character and has cytoprotective effect. Further studies are required for investigating function of lactic acid bacteria during fermentation of SJH.
항생제 연관성 설사의 중의약 치료 효과에 대한 체계적 고찰

Objectives To summarize and evaluate the efficacy of traditional Chinese herbal medicine (TCHM) treatment for antibiotic associated diarrhea (AAD). Methods Eight electronic databases were searched from their inception to August 2017. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) assessing the efficacy of TCHM treatment for AAD were included. The risk of bias was assessed using the Cochrane risk of bias assessment tool. Data analysis was performed using RevMan software version 5.3. Results Seventeen RCTs involving 1138 patients with AAD were included for qualitative synthesis. TCHM treatment improved total effective rate (TER). However, the results that TER in experimental group was significantly higher than in control group were different between the included studies. TCHM enema treatment improved TER, but not significantly higher than control group. The most frequently used herbal formulas were Gamiwekwanjeon, Gamiinsampaedoksan, and Samryungbaekchulsan. The most frequently used TCHMs were Atractylodes macrocephala (Bai Zhu), Dioscorea batatas (Shan Yao). Within the studies documenting the adverse events, no serious adverse events associated with TCHM treatment were observed. Conclusions Evidence of TCHM treatment efficacy for AAD is encouraging, but not conclusive, because of the low methodological qualities, diversity of TCHM treatment prescriptions. Further well-designed RCTs with rigorous randomization and blinding method are needed to confirm these results.
고지방식이로 비만이 유도된 C57BL/6 마우스에서 Metformin과 황금추출물의 병용 투여 시 비만관련 지표에 미치는 영향

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate anti-obesity effect of Scutellariae Radix extract combined with metformin. Methods: Male C57BL/6 mice, 4 weeks of age, were used to set high-fat diet induced obesity model. They were grouped NOR (normal control), HFD (high fat diet control), MET (metformin, 100 mg/kg/day), MH2 (metformin 50 mg/kg/day+Scutellariae Radix 200 mg/kg/day), and HG4 (Scutellariae Radix 400 mg/kg/day). MET, MH2, and HG4 were orally administered for 10 weeks. Body weight was measured every week. Fasting blood glucose, triglyceride, total cholesterol (TC), high density lipoprotein, glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase (GOT), and glutamic-pyruvic transaminase (GPT) were measured before sacrifice. Oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) was also performed. Organ weight and internal fat weight were measured after sacrifice. Results: MH2 group showed a reduction of body weight when compared with HFD group. MH2 group showed stable blood level control which was calculated areas under the curves by OGTT. TC, GOT, GPT level, internal fat, and organ weight in MH2 group reduced. Conclusions: The combined treatment of Scutellariae Radix and Metformin has impact on treating obesity. Further studies are needed to evaluate the effect of Metformin and herbal medicine combination therapy.

Objectives: This study was to investigate the antioxiative capacity, antiobesity effects of Atractylodes Rhizoma Alba, Houttuyniae Herba, Lonicerae Flos, Agrobacterium Rhizogenes, and Coptidis Rhizoma on Raw 264.7 and 3T3-L1 cell lines. Methods: Three different types of herb extracts (A. Rhizoma Alba, H. Herba, L. Flos, A. Rhizogenes, and C. Rhizoma; water 100%, ethanol 30%, ethanol 100%) were used in this study. Total polyphenol compound, 1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging, reactive oxygen species (ROS) activity, NO production and cell proliferation were measured. Results: Total polyphenol compound measurement of L. Flos, A. Rhizogenes, and C. Rhizoma extracts were higher than A. Rhizoma Alba, H. Herba. DPPH radical scavenging activity, ROS activity and NO production of A. Rhizogenes, C. Rhizoma extracts were lower than L. Flos, A. Rhizoma, and H. Herba. Conclusions: Metformin and A. Rhizogenes, C. Rhizoma, A. Rhizoma Alba, and L. Flos extracts combination groups showed synergistic effect on adipocyte differentiation inhibition and antioxidative activity.
