        수술중 시행한 척수 조영술의 유용성

        Objectives : There are many kinds of method to evaluate neural decompression during operation. They are direct visual and manual inspection, intraoperative ultrasound, endoscope, intraoperative computed tomography and intraoperative myelography. We used intraoperative myelography to evaluate the proper decompression of neural elements during the decompressive surgery. Methods : We injected 10-20cc of nonionic water-soluble contrast materials through direct puncture site of exposed dura during operation or lower lumbar level or lumbar drain inserted preoperatively. 12 patients were included in this study. They were 7 patients of centrally herniated lumbar disc disease, 1 patient of multiple lumbar spinal stenosis, 2 patients of thoracic extradural tumor and 2 cervical fracture & dislocations. Results : 5 of 12 patients showed remained neural compression through intraoperative myelography, so they were operated further through other approach. Myelographic dye is heavier than CSF, so the dependent side of subarachnoid space was visualized only. In one case, CSF leakage through hemovac was detected, but it was treated only bed rest for 5 days after hemovac removal. Conclusion :Intraoperative myelography is an effective method to evaluate neural decompression during spinal surgery. This technique is easy and familiar to us, neurosurgeons.

        영산강,섬진강수계 호소환경조사 -하동호 등 10개 호소 중심으로-

        Yearly mean temperature in the 29 lakes surveyed ranges from 12.6 (Suncheon) to 13.9°C (Mokpo), the lowest in -2.7°C (January) and the highest in 25.9°C (July). Monthly mean the amount of rainfall recorded the highest of 336.7 mm in August and the lowest with 4.9 mm in January. A total of 424 species of phytoplankton were identified. They were 157 Chlorophyceae, 161 Bacillariophyceae, 39 Cyanophyceae, and 67 other algal taxa. The phytoplankton diversity were low in stream type reservoirs such as Guemho, Youngsan and Youngam. The population density of phytoplankton ranged from 19 to 53,161 cells/ml. Annual mean of total zooplankton abundance in 45 sites was 369±827 ind./L (n=180). Rotifers were the most common taxa and their relative abundance was high (65~77%). The benthic microinvertebrate fauna of 10 reservoirs of Jeonnam province were 71 species of 61 genera of 44 families of 16 orders of 7 classes of 4 phyla. Aquatic insects of Phylum Arthropoda were 50 species of 44 genera of 28 families of 6 orders. The number of individuals was 6,132. Diptera was highiest (41.3%), and Ephemeroptera (31.0%), Trichoptera (17.5%), Anellida (3.8%), Mollusca (3.3%), Crustacea (0.4%). Large hydrophytes were identified 32 taxa, 2 varieties 30 species 26 genera and 20 families. Especially, Jijung and Juam lakes require management such as physical remove of this ecosystem disturbance field plants. Fishes were identified total 44 taxa, such as 25 Cyprinidae (56.8%), 8 Cobitidae (17.0%), 3 Gobiidae (6.4%), 2 Bagridae (4.3%), 2 Osmeridae (4.3%), 2 Odontobutidae (4.3%), 2 Centrachidae (4.3%), 1 Siluridae (2.1%), and 1 Centropomidae (2.1%). A pale chub was dominant species (18.9%).

        국가 연구시설장비의 효율적 관리를 위한 법제화 방안

        As the increase of national R&D programs and budget investment so have research facilities and equipment also increased. However it is reported that research facilities and equipments tend to be left without being used or underutilized after a project comes to an end or when there are not sufficient technical engineers, which end up undermining effective budget expenditure. In this regard, it is highly necessary to secure R&D investment efficiency and to maximize the joint use of research facilities and equipments by establishing a systematical management system for national research facilities and equipments. Up to now Korean government has depended upon Basic S&T Law for regulating the management of research facilities and equipments. Basic S&T Law is general in nature and can not contain detailed guidelines for the management of research facilities and equipments. This is why a new law has been required. This paper aims at suggesting a model of regulation and law which is suitable for Korea situation. Related regulations and laws across governmental departments were thoroughly analyzed and criticized. Current trends among major developed countries were also surveyed in order to draw implications for a new model. Upon theses reviews, detailed format and contents of law were suggested. Especially some controversial expected issues were studied more deeply one by one. The result of this paper will contribute to enacting a new law for the efficient management of national research facilities and equipments.

        주성분분석에 의한 인천연안 수질의 평가

        In this study 14 items of surface water quality of Incheon coastal area were analyzed. And samples were gathered four times a year periodically from April 1985 to October 1988. Varimax rotation was adopted for further explanation of initial factor matrix. From this method five factors were extracted. The results of this study were as follows; 1. An average concentration of COD, SS, T-N, PO₄-P were l.5 ㎎/ℓ, 22.5 ㎎/ℓ , 427.0 ㎍/ℓ and 73.3 ㎍/ℓ respectively. And water quality of Incheon coastal area was deteriorated gradually. 2. From the principal component analysis, variance of Factor 1 was 30.2 %. From Factor 2 to Factor 5, the percent of variance were 13.9%, 10.9%, 8.3% and 7.2% respectively. Therefore cumulative percentage of variance from Factor 1 to Factor 5 was 70.5%. 3. Factor I was artificial pollution pattern by domestic wastewater and industrial wastewater, Factor 2 was natural pollution pattern by precipitation, Factor 3 was physical property pattern by water temperature and dissolved oxygen, Factor 4 was oil pollution pattern and Factor 5 was conservative salinity variation pattern. 4. The groups of sampling sites which were influenced by tidal current in the Incheon coastal area were confirmed. And it is possible to explain partially that the boundaries which were affected by inflow streams through Principal Component Analysis with salinity, SS and PO₄-P.
