In order to cope with the regulated fuel economy in near future for construction machines including excavators, idle stop technology has a potential to be implemented as one of measures to save fuel consumption. Since it has been reported that, in real work sites, excavators idle for significant amount of time between each motion, idle stop technology, which has been widely used for vehicles, is capable of reducing fuel consumption during idling. This study aims to measure fuel consumption of engine idling in an excavator and analyze the amount fuel saving by stopping engine during idle. This work shows that fuel consumption could be reduced up to 13.7% owing to engine stop during idle of a typical excavator used in domestic work site.

In order to meet the emissions standards for PM and PN, a development of technology for LPG SIDI(Spark Ignition Direct Injection) fuel supply system and for its application are necessary. Prevention of a vapor lock with use of LPG fuel leads to begin this work. The purpose of this work is to provide optimum design methods for preventing the locking of the fuel vapor from the LPG fuel supply system, and contributes to construction of the designed data. An effect of fuel cooling by returning some fuel from the high pressure pump to the fuel tank is identified using a rig system with Butane/propane= 70%/30% fuel, which enables to estimate the increase of temperature to slow down up to max. 1.4 times. As returning amount of fuel increases, an effect of cooling fuel pump varies and thus an excessive use of low pressure pump leads to the durability and fuel economy problems. Therefore, this work suggests the variable control of returning amount of fuel needs to be reviewed and applied. Measured results of temperature change of high pressure pump show that, after heating to high temperature, it is confirmed that a start of return(opening of return valve) lowers(cools) the temperature of high pressure pump. This concludes that low pressure pump(in-tank motor) enables to cool down the high pressure pump and thus reduce the start time at high temperature re-startability.

There are many cases of poor preparation in examining double contrast colon study of recipient a kidney transplant, because the patient with renal failure is limited in intake of water. This study is to improve problems to be caused by poor preparation in examining double contrast colon study of the patient with renal failure by changing the laxative. Of total objective 142 patients with renal failure, 77 patients by Magcorol (250ml) and Dulcorax 2 Tablets and 65 patients by Colonlyte (4ℓ) were examined double contrast colon study. The images were classified into 4 groups including good, common, poor, and fail according to residual feces and mucosal coating by two radiological technologist. Of 77 patients by Magcorol (250ml) and Dulcorax 2 Tablets used for evacuation, Good, common, poor, and fail group were in 11(14.3%), 18(23.4%), 35(45.4%), and 13(16.9%), respectively. Of 65 patients by Colonlyte (4ℓ), Good, common, poor, and fail group were in 10(15.4%), 33(50.8%), 22(33.8%), and 0(0%). In conclusion, to improve a repeat examination and image quality of double contrast colon study of the patient with renal failure, Magcorol (250ml) and Dulcorax 2 Tablets used for the laxative are changed by Colonlyte (4ℓ).

Common bile duct stones are considered a medical disease for the advancement of endoscopy and its techniques. The clearance rate of stone by endoscopy is very high. We tried removal of common bile duct stone by the endoscopic procedure with basket after endoscopic sphincterotomy, but failed for mechanical problem of the basket. So endoscopic balloon dilation technique was attempted four times repeatedly. The technique consisted of 12mm diameter, 3 air pressure, and 30 seconds. We report one case of this common bile duct stone : the basket was successfully removed by endoscopic procedure due to balloon dilation.
