A 30 year-old female visited our out-patient clinic with painful joint swelling in both hands and feet. Because she had tested positive for rheumatoid factor, and her inflammatory markers were elevated, the case was initially classified as rheumatoid arthritis RA), according to the 2010 American College of Rheumatology (ACR)/European League Against Rheumatism (EULAR) classification criteria. However, radiographic examinations, including simple radiography and MRI, revealed that her peripheral bone lesions were compatible with bone tuberculosis. The patient also exhibited pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) on chest X-ray and CT examinations. She was treated with isoniazid (INH), rifampicin (RFP), ethambutol (EMB), and pyrazinamide (PZA), and exhibited a good response to these medications. The patient was diagnosed as having bone TB, and her peripheral bone lesions were resolved using anti-TB treatment. This was an uncommon case of bone TB mimicking RA. (Korean J Med 2014;87:373-378)

Clothing for energy harvesting is not only its performance, but also the clothing comfort level is very important. Therefore, the subjective clothing comfort level was evaluated on the basis of the three parameters (pressure sensation level, activity sensation level, and thermal sensation level). The comfort level of the clothing was derived on the basis of the tightness level of the seamless knit, design structure of the garment, area of energy harvesting, and frequency of motion; further, the comfort level was calculated on the basis of the arithmetic mean of the three parameters.

본 연구는 시·청각 피드백을 통해 아동의 운동 효과를 증진시킬 수 있는 의류형 웨어러블 동작 센싱 및 피드백 시스템을 개발하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 본 연구에서는 직물 센서 제조 및 이를 적용한 스포츠웨어 디자인, 직물 기반 동작 센싱 모듈 설계, 아동의 운동 흥미 유발을 위한 시·청각 피드백 시스템 개발 등의 일련의 연구를 수행하였다. SWCNT 기반의 동작 센싱용 신축성 직물 센서를 개발하고, 이를 의복의 사지 관절 부위에 부착한 스포츠웨어를 디자인하였으며, 센싱 모듈을 설계하여 아동을 대상으로 한 관절 동작 실험을 통해 센싱 성능을 검증하였다. 또한 악세서리 형태로 개발된 피드백 제품을 통해 본 연구에서 개발된 스포츠웨어를 착용한 아동의 동작에 따라 빛과 소리로 반응하도록 구현하였다. 본 연구의 결과로, 아동의 운동 흥미를 유발할 수 있는 아동용 스포츠웨어 및 악세서리 제품의 디자인 프로토타입을 제안하였다. The objective of this study was to develop clothing-type wearable motion sensing and feedback systems to enhance children’s sports by promoting visual and audio feedback. In this study, several applications, such as fabric sensors, sportswear integrated with various types of fabric sensors, and fabric-based motion sensing module design, as well as a visual and audio feedback system for gaining a better understanding of a child’s interest in a type of exercise, were developed. An SWCNT-based stretchable fabric sensor was developed for motion sensing, and sportswear was designed using the fabric sensor that was integrated into the limbs of the garment. The sensing module was developed, and sensory performance was evaluated through a joint motion experiment for children. In addition, using the feedback system that was developed in the form of an accessory, the responses of light and sound were also examined based on the movement of the child who was wearing the sportswear prototypes. This study focused on the development and assessment of prototype designs for children's sportswear and accessory products that can help to ascertain a child’s interest in a particular exercise.
직물전극의 구조가 심장활동 신호의 동잡음 감소에 미치는 효과

Computer embroidery was used to create six types of contact-type textile electrodes for measuring the heart activity signals by manipulating the electrode size and configuration method. These electrodes were each attached to chest belts. Chest belts with the six types of electrodes were worn sequentially by four males with good physical health, and the heart activity signals were detected while they were walking in place at a rate of 80 ㎐ for 40s. To collect the heart activity signals, the BIOPAC ECG100 device was used at a sampling rate of 1 ㎑, and the detected raw signal was filtered using a bandpass filter. The results of this study indicated that with regard to the textile electrodes’ configuration method, the convex electrodes detected higher-quality signals than the flat electrodes; however, no significant performance difference found in detecting heart activity signals among the three electrode sizes.
CNT 기반의 직물센서 구현 방법에 따른 관절동작 센싱 효율 평가

본 연구의 목적은 본 연구에서는 탄소나노튜브 기반의 신축성 직물 센서의 모양과 의복 상 부착 위치가 아동의 사지 관절 동작 센싱 성능에 미치는 영향을 분석하고, 이를 통해 아동의 사지 동작 센싱에 적합한 직물 동작 센서의 요건을 규명하고자 하였다. 실험 대상 아동에게 2종의 센서 모양과 2개의 센서 부착 위치에 따라 조작된 실험복을 착의시킨 후 60 deg/sec의 속도로, 팔과 다리의 굽힘-폄 동작(60°, 90°의 동작 각도별로 10회씩 3회 반복 동작, 총 60회 동작)에 의한 직물 센서의 신장과 수축에 따른 전압의 변화량을 측정하였으며, 가속도 센서를 함께 부착하여, 센싱 결과의 일치도를 분석함으로써 신뢰도를 검증하였다. 실험 결과 아동의 팔과 다리 동작을 가장 효율적으로 측정할 수 있는 직물 센서의 구성 요건은 장방형 모양 센서 및 관절로부터 4㎝ 아래 부위에 부착된 센서로 나타났다. 본 연구에서는 아동의 사지 동작 측정에 적합한 직물 센서를 개발하고 관절동작 센싱에 적합한 센서의 모양과 의복 상 부착 위치에 대한 조건을 분석하였으며, 의복에 통합된 유연한 직물 센서를 활용하여 인체 부위별 동작 센싱이 가능하다는 것을 규명하였다. This study aimed to determine the effects of the shape and attachment position of stretchable textile sensors coated with carbon nanotube on their performance when used to measure children's joint movements. Moreover, the child-safe requirements for fabric motion sensors are established. The child participants were advised to wear integrated clothing equipped with the sensors of various shapes (rectangular and boat-shaped) and attachment positions (at the knee and elbow joints or 4 cm below the joints). The voltage change induced by the elongation and contraction of the fabric sensors was determined for arm and leg flexion-extension motions at 60 deg/s (three measurements of 10 repeats each for 60°and 90°angles, for a total of 60 repetitions). Their dependability was determined by comparing the fabric motion sensors to the associated acceleration sensors. The experimental results indicate that the rectangular-shaped sensor affixed 4 cm below the joint is the most effective fabric motion sensor for measuring children's arm and leg motions. In this study, we designed a textile sensor capable of tracking children's joint motion and analyzed the sensor shape and attachment position on motion sensing clothing. We demonstrated that flexible fabric sensors integrated into garments may be used to detect the joint motions of the human body.

In this paper, we propose Radiation Dosage Measurement system for vehicle load radiation management. Proposed system is composed of plastic scintillator, PMT, AFE board, 가변고전압발생 장치, embedded control borad. Moving vehicle"s load are autmomatically measured for its radiation dosage and, thus, the proposed system can shorten the measurement time as well as the processing time.
