Bednar tumor was described by Bednar in 1957. The histologic pattern of this tumor shows similar to dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP) but melanin pigments are scattered within the tumor, It s rare neoplasm accounting for approximately 1-5% of all case of DFSP. Clinically, this tumor is considered to be intermediated malignancy, because of slow growth and frequent local recurrence and lack of distant metastasis. The majority are located on the trunk and the upper and lower extremities, but extremely rate in the head and neck area. Microscopically, this tumor is characterized by tight storiform spindle cells and long slender cells that admixed with a small population of melanin containing dendritic cells. This dendritic cells are the primary features distinguising this lesion from conventional DFSP. Complete surgical excision and close follow-up case are necessany for this neoplasm because of probable intermediate malignancy. A patient was admitted to Our Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery due to swelling on right parotid area and numbness of the right lower lip on September, 1994, By clinical examinations and C-T finding, we dignosed tentatively as myxoma or pleomorphic adenoma. Surgical excision of this tumor was performed with parotidectomy and mandibular osteotomy under the frozen biopsy. By final microscopic and electromicroscopic examination and immunohistochemical study, this tumor was diagnosed as Bednar tumor. So, we report a case of pigmented DFSP with review of literatures.

Purpose: Rapamycin (RPM) and its analogues are known for their potent immunosuppressant and anti-proliferative properties, which stem from their ability to modulate the signal transduction pathways involved in cell cycle progression from the G1 to S phase. Thus, RPM has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of a number of non-immune cell types, including hepatocytes, vascular smooth cells and fibroblasts. In addition to its effects on proliferation, RPM may also play a role in the regulation of apoptosis under certain circumstances. Methods: The effects of RPM on the activation, proliferation and expression of cytotoxic effector molecules were examined on Molt-4 human T-lymphocyte by determining its effects on apoptosis, cell viability, reactive oxygen species (ROS) production and mitochondrial dysfunction. Cells were cultured in the presence or absence of RPM, and then analyzed by Flow cytometry after staining with PI (propidium iodide). Results: The viability of Molt-4 T cells dose- and time-dependently decreased on the addition of RPM. Conclusion: RPM induced cytotoxicity was characterized by G2/M phase cell cycle arrest. In addition, a pharmacological scavenging study of ROS, including H₂O₂, revealed the cytotoxicity was mainly induced by the generation of ROS, which might modulate the expression of Bak protein and mitochondrial dysfunction.

This study is aimed to analyze the change of chinese fishing vessels` entry into the East Sea off North Korea and suggest directions for countermeasures. Based on the real landing data in China, Chinese fishing vessels` squid catch volume and value in the East Sea off North Korea are estimated. Results show that at least 205 thousand tons of squid was caught by Chinese fishing vessels in 2014. If the catch amount is calculated by the unit price per kilogram at the same year in Korea, it would be 556.3 billion KRW. As the UN sanctions become stricter with the recent resolution 2371 passed, Chinese fishing vessels` entry may increase in the future to compensate decreased seafood supply from North Korea. Even though there are not many options left for Korea to decrease the impact of Chinese depletive fishing, the study suggests countermeasures such as strengthening cooperative crack down on the Chinese illegal fishing vessels in Korean waters; increasing cooperation with UN member countries to incorporate banning the trade of fishing rights in the next UN sanctions; establishing regional fisheries management organization and managing migratory species with China and Japan cooperatively in the long term.

Congenital branchial anomalies are congenital developmental defect resulted from incomplete obliteration of branchial cleft, arches and pouches, and usually finded as cyst, fistula and sinus. The branchial cysts are common among these congenital anomalies. Branchial cleft cysts can be classified by developmental origin and anatomical position, but second branchial cleft cyst is the majority in these branchial anomalies. The branchial cleft cyst affects men and women with approximately equal frequency, but predicted on left side The clinical symptoms are painless mobile swelling and no tenderness during palpation. Surgical excision is usual treatment. But if infection or abscess is persisted, I&D with antibiotic therapy is to be performed initially. 23-year old female visited to our hospital due to palpable mass on the right neck area. By clinical examinations and CT finding, we diagnosed as branchial cleft cyst tentatively. We performed complete surgical excision and diagnosed this lesion as branchial cyst that originate from second branchial cleft. So we report a case of branchial cleft cyst with review of literatures.

Congenital muscular torticollis(CMT) is a disorder characterized by shortening of at least one of the cervical muscles and tilting of the head to opposite side. The most commonly affected muscle is the sternocleidomastoid muscle. Pathogenesis and etiology of congenital muscular torticollis were not clearly identified, but considered as fetal malposition, birth trauma, vascular accident, heredity, infection and CNS pathology. Untreated congenital muscular torticollis often causes facial asymmetry and This is the rasult of tensional rotation of the face toward affected side. So early treatment may prevent facial and neck asymmetry and limitation of neck movement. There are many treatment methods in CMT, including conservative and operative method, but presently Bipolar release and Z-Plasty of SCM muscle has been introduced when the conservative treatment had failed. The benefits of this method are to preservation of the normal Neck V-contour and improvement of the neck motion. We treated CMT using Bipolar release and Z-plasty in two patients. After that the patients improved on the range of neck motion and maintained the normal V-conture of the neck, so we report two cases of CMT with literatures.

Nasal bone fracture is common in mid-facial trauma patients. In these patients, facial bone and nasal bone fracture are reducted at same time, but definite nasal reduction is diffidulty in these patients because of nasotracheal intubation during general anesthesia and facial swelling in early facial trauma patients. If nasal packing and MMF are needed, there are difficult to maintain the reducted nasal bone because of some difficulty in airway maintenance after nasal packing and increasing the patient discomfort. So postoperative nasal deformity is more common in these combined patients. Secondary rhinoplasty is necessary in these patients who have deformed nasal bone, and there are many methods and materials for secondary rhinoplasty. But if primary nasal bone was reducted symmetrically, it is easy in secondary rhinoplasty. We present 7 cases of secondary rhinoplasty in mid-facial trauma patients who had combined nasal bone fracture. In these patients, primary nasal bone reduction carried with closed reduction method during primary facial bone reduction. About 6 months later, we performed secondary rhinoplasty with iliac bone and alloplastic materials. So we report these cases with literatures.
