The development of disc herniation is usually associated with physical trauma or degenerated intervertebral disc. Lumbar disc herniation is one of the most common causes of lower back pain and radicular pain. Patients may have back pain with radiating to lower extremity, loss of sensation or paresis, decreased deep tendon reflex and other varied clinical manifestations. But these clinical manifestations may not be presented in spinal cord injured patient, because they have already decreased muscle power,loss of sensation and altered deep tendon reflex. Instead, nonspecific neurologic symptom such as increased spasticity may be presented. Electrodiagnostic study is helpful in evaluating radiculopathy due to disc herniation. Here, we report a case of spontaneous lumbar disc herniation with radiculopathy confirmed by electrophysiologic study and MRI in cervical spinal cord injured patient. This is the first report on spontaneous lumbar disc herniation in tetreplegia patient.

The majority of cystic masses in the lateral neck are benign entities, and these entities include branchial cyst. Occult papillary thyroid carcinoma can occasionally present with regional lymph node metastasis. However, cystic metastasis from occult papillary thyroid carcinoma is a very rare condition. We present here a case of a cystic neck mass as the sole initial clinical manifestation of metastatic occult papillary thyroid carcionoma. (Korean J Endocrine Surg 2009;9:228-231)

지역 방송사 유튜브 뉴스 콘텐츠 특성과 이용자 반응에 관한 내용분석

이 연구는 지역 지상파 방송사의 유튜브 시사뉴스 콘텐츠의 특성과 이용자 반응 간의 상관관계를 살펴보고 대응 방안을 탐색하는 데 목적이 있다. 유튜브 오픈 API를 활용하여 전국 31곳의 지역 지상파 방송사의 유튜브 뉴스 채널에서 한 달 간 업로드 된 3,950건의 동영상을 표본으로 추출하였다. 개별 동영상을 분석 단위로 설정하고 형식적 특성과 내용적 특성, 이용자 반응 등을 내용분석 하였다. 연구결과, 디지털 전용 콘텐츠를 생산하고 있었지만 매우 낮은 비율이었으며, 대부분은 제목과 형식이 그대로 업로드 되는 방송 다시보기 영상이었다. 또한, 상당수의 채널이 TV편성과 같은 종합 채널의 형태로 운영되고 있어 독자적인 플랫폼으로서의 전문성을 보여주지 못하고 있었다. 이는 지역 방송사의 유튜브 채널은 TV나 자사 홈페이지와의 차별성이 부재하며, 여전히 TV플랫폼의 보조적 역할이나 아카이브 기능에 편향되어 있음을 알 수 있는 부분이다. 그럼에도 불구하고, 지역 전문성과 유튜브 감성을 반영한 소수의 디지털 전용 콘텐츠는 높은 조회 수와 반응을 이끌며 온라인 공간에서의 확장성을 보여주었고 지역 방송사 유튜브 뉴스 채널에 현실적이고 효과적인 방향성을 제시했다. This study aims to examine the characteristics of news content and users’ reactions in local broadcasting Youtube news’ channel, and explore how the local media should response in the new online video environment. YouTube Open API sampled 3,950 news-related videos uploaded over a month on 31 YouTube news channels nationwide. The content analysis was performed on the basis of the analysis of individual videos, such as characteristics of each content and users’ reactions. As a result, a few news channels have produced digital-only content, but the ratio has been very low, most were broadcast replay videos with titles and formats uploaded as they were. In some cases, it still operates as a comprehensive channel, which failed to show its expertise as an independent digital news platform. This shows that theses YouTube channels lacks differentiation from TV or its own web page, and is still skewed to the auxiliary role or online archive function of TV platform. Nevertheless, digital-only content, which can be a national issue based on regional expertise, has led to a higher number of views and users reactions, suggesting that is a realistic and effective strategy with expandability in online space in the future.

엑스포 파빌리온에서 감성 디자인 표현 연구

엑스포는 시대적 패러다임을 빠르게 반영하며 그 전시체계도 진화하여 왔다. 미래의 발전상을 다루어왔던 창조의 장으로써의 엑스포는 21세기 들어 세계가 직면하고 있는 다양한 문제들에 대한 대안을 공유하는 장으로 변화하고 있다. 본 연구는 엑스포 파빌리온이 관람객과의 커뮤니케이션하는 중요한 수단으로 볼 때, 시대적 패러다임을 반영하는 엑스포 파빌리온에 대한 디자인 접근방법으로써 감성디자인이 어떠한 의미를 지니고 있으며, 감성디자인의 표현은 어떻게 나타나고 있는지 파악하는 것을 연구의 목적으로 하고 있다. 연구의 방법은 문헌을 통해 감성디자인의 의미를 파악하고, 엑스포 파빌리온에서 감성디자인 접근의 필요성을 밝힌다. 선행연구 분석을 통해 감성디자인 표현특성을 도출하고, 파빌리온 디자인 계획 요소와 연관하여 분석의 기준을 제시한다. 이를 토대로 사례분석의 결과를 종합한다. 연구의 범위는 2010년 상하이 엑스포와 2015년 밀라노 엑스포의 국가관으로 한정한다. 공간에서 감성디자인 특성과 파빌리온 디자인 계획요소와의 연계를 통한 감성디자인 표현의 분석 기준은 다음과 같다. 디자인 개념을 표현하는 상징성, 공간 프로그램에서 관람객과의 상호작용을 유발하는 지원성, 공간 구성을 통해 관람객의 다양한 체험을 유도하는 장면성과 연속성이다. 감성디자인 표현 사례의 분석결과, 파빌리온의 조형성을 표현하는 상징성은 형태의 오브제화, 이미지의 형상화로 나타나며, 공간 프로그램을 통한 지원성은 참여를 통한 경험의 강화, 다중적 의미 생성으로 나타나고, 공간구성을 통한 장면성과 연속성은 비일상적 장면 구성, 비결정적 시퀀스 구성으로 나타난다. 감성디자인의 표현은 관람객의 감성을 자극하여 다양한 커뮤니케이션을 만들어내고, 이를 통해 풍부한 체험과 그 가치를 만들어가는 것이다. 결론적으로, 엑스포 파빌리온에서 감성디자인 표현의 의미는 감성의 자극을 통해 엑스포의 주제에 대한 다양한 의미와 가치를 이해함으로써 관람객의 정서적 만족감을 갖게 됨과 동시에 세계가 다루는 공통의 문제들에 대한 대안을 공유할 수 있게 된다. 따라서 감성디자인은 현 시대가 지향하는 엑스포 패러다임에 부응하며, 엑스포의 문화적 가치가 만들어가는 디자인접근 방법이라 하겠다. Expo has reflected the contemporary paradigms in a timely manner. As a result, Expo"s exhibition system has evolved accordingly. As the realm of creation that has dealt with the future developments, Expo has been evolving into the realm in which the alternatives to various problems the world is facing in the 21st century are shared. The purpose of this study is to identify what significance emotional design has as a design approach method in relation to the Expo pavilion reflecting the contemporary paradigms if Expo favilion is deemed as an important tool to create communications with spectators. Moreover, this study aims to examine how the expressions of emotional design are represented. In regard to the research method used in this study, the significance of emotional design is to be identified through literature review. In addition, the need for an emotional design approach is to be revealed through literature review. The precedent studies are to be analyzed for the purpose of deducting the characteristics of emotional design expression and also presenting the analysis criteria in relation to the elements of pavilion design plan. Lastly, the results of case analysis are to be examined and summarized. The scope of this study is limited to the pavilions at Expo Shanghai 2010 and Expo Milano 2015. Following are the analysis criteria for the expressions of emotional design on the basis of the linkage between the spatial characteristics of emotional design and the elements of pavilion design plan: symbolism for expressing design concepts, support for inducing interactions with spectators in a spatial program and scene and continuity for inducing diverse experience of spectators through spatial configuration. As a result of the analysis on the cases of emotional design expression, symbolism expressing the formativeness of pavilion was represented as an objet of a form and also as a shape of an image, whereas support through spatial program was represented as reinforcement of experience through participation and generation of multiple meanings. Lastly, scene and continuity through spatial configuration were represented as configuration of non-routine scenes and non-deterministic sequences. The expressions of emotional design creates diverse communications by stimulating the emotion of spectators. In doing so, they can create a wealth of experiences along with the values thereof. In conclusion, the significance of the expressions of emotional design at Expo pavilion is as follows. Spectators can have emotional satisfaction by understanding diverse meanings and values in relation to the themes of Expo through stimulation of emotions. At the same time, it becomes possible to share the alternatives to the common problems, with which the whole world is dealing. On that account, emotional design can be said to fulfill the Expo paradigm of the present day. More importantly, it can be regarded as a design approach method to create the cultural values of Expo.
