The purpose of this study was to investigate the cases about utilization and development of abandoned tunnels in Korea, and to explore their characteristics and types. The utilizing type of abandoned tunnels are largely composed of two types: the one that utilizes its original purpose and function, and the other that utilizes its exceptional spatial characteristics. To be more subdivided, there are some types used as bicycle roads and passageways, as tourist spots such as rail bikes, as exhibition space by utilizing the characteristics of blocking light and sound, or as storage and cultivation site. This study also found some problems such as cracks, water leakage, and air ventilation that occur in abandoned tunnel, which is necessary to review solutions and alternatives in the future.
원자력 발전소 화재안전해석을 위한 전산화재모델의 비교 연구

원자력 발전소는 화재 발생 시 대규모 피해를 야기하는 특수한 시설물로서 일반 건축물에 비하여 매우 엄격한 화재 안전 기준을 적용하고 있으며 일반 건축물과 차별화된 화재안전 설계 조건을 요구한다. 본 연구에서는 원자력 발전소의 화재안전성을 평가하기 위한 기초연구로써 원자력 발전소 내 주 제어실(이하 MCR)에 대해 화재시나리오 및 환기조건에 따른 화재해석모델의 계산결과를 비교분석하여 각 해석모델의 특성을 파악하고자 한다. MCR 내 화재안전성을 평가하기 위해 Field Model인 FDS 와 Zone Model인 CFAST를 이용하였으며 NUREG/RC-6850, NUREG/RC-1894에 기초하여 화재시뮬레이션을 수행하였다. 해석결과로써 연기농도, 가시거리, 연층높이 등의 데이터를 분석하여 MCR내의 거주가능 시간을 평가하였으며 이를 통해 원자력 시설물의 안전성 확보를 위한 정량적인 자료를 제공하고자 한다.

This study was aimed at designing a condenser, as a component of the organic Rankine cycle system for ships. The condenser was manufactured through press molding to achieve a bent shape to enhance the heat transfer performance, considering the shape of the heat transfer plate used in a brazing plate heat exchanger. The heat transfer plate was made of copper-nickel alloy. The required heat transfer rate for the condenser was 110 kW, and the maximum number of layers was set as 25, considering the characteristics of high-temperature brazing. Computational fluid dynamics techniques were used to perform the thermal fluid analysis, based on the ANSYS CFX (v.18.1) commercial program. The heat transfer rate of the condenser was 4.96 kW for one layer (width and length of 0.224 and 0.7 m, respectively) of the heat transfer exchanger. The fin efficiency pertaining to the heat transfer plate was approximately 20%. The heat flow analysis for one layer of the heat exchanger plate indicated that the condenser with 25 layers of heat transfer plates could achieve a heat transfer rate of 110 kW.
요추 추간판탈출증에 대한 고식적 및 현미경 수술의 비교분석

This study was performed in an attempt to determine if there was any clinical bene- fit of microdiscectomy over standard procedure. All patients were operated on by the same surgeon with an either method. We evaluate retrospectively 26 cases of microdiscectomy and 26 cases of standard discectomy using data derived from a ques- tionare and chart review from july 1989 to June 1993. Mean operating time was about 117 minutes in the standard lumbar discectomy group, while 103 minutes in the minutes in the microsurgical discectomy group. Mean time to return to work was about 9.6 weeks in the standard lumbar discectomy, while 7.6 weeks in the microsurgical disectomy group. In this clinical comparative study, the two procedures have a similar outcome, and the advantage of microdisectomy is more safe than standard method, because of magnification and better illumination of operating field.
