Air flow in the engine room has become an important factor in the performance improvement of engine cooling. Recently, engine room is becoming denser than ever, because of the advent of high power engine and larger passenger compartment area. Computer simulation is not only an economical tool in view of time and cost saving but also an efficient methop for the optimal design. In this paper, cooling performance in the engine room has been simulated by using the commercialized CFD code, STAR-CD. And a method of predicting the fan rotating effect IS proposed in this study.
Disk Plate shape optimization through flow analysis

Recently, much concern is being focused on brake system because a lot of possibilities to cause a brake uneven vibration and disk plate overheating are increased more than before as vehicle weight and engine power increase rapidly. Especially, brake system cooling is very important because it can decrease brake performance and induced thermal disk plate warpage from heat might lead to brake system vibration. Therefore, a lot of considerations for brake system cooling is needed in design stage. In this paper, brake system cooling analysis for various type of disk plate was implemented and from CFD analysis result, the best design for disk plate was proposed in view of flow with a 3D full car and brake submodel and analyzed by using a commercialized CFD code, ST AR-CD.

Irradiated 88 patients of .Maxillary Sinus Carcinoma at Yonsei Cancer Center for 10years between 1971 and 1980 were retrospectively analysed. The majority of patients had very advanced disease (87.5% of T3 and T4) and 17% of cervical lymph node involvement. 80.6% of all patients were epidermoid type. In 44 cases (50%), irradiation alone was performed. 28 cases (32%) of postoperative radiation after incomplete surgery and the remaining 16 cases (18%) of postopera tive radiation after radical surgery were done. The majority of patients except 6 cases had irradiation a dose between 60Gy and 80Gy in 30-40 fractions over 6 -8 weeks. The actuarial overall 3 and 5 year survival rate were 362% and 26%, respectively. The actuarial 5 year survival rate for 44 cases of radiation alone group was 14.l %, The actuarial 5 year survival rate for 28 cases of incomplete surgery and postoperative radiation group and 16 cases of radical surgery and postoperative radiation group were 312% and 67.4% respectively. In the actuarial 5 year survival rate according to the stage, stage II, Ill and IV were 79.5%, 20.90% and 0%. In recent, for the improvement of survival rate of advanced Maxillary Sinus Carcinoma at Yonsei Cancer Center, combined multidisplinary or trimodal treatment modality have been applied and in near time the more excellent results expect to be analyse.

The interest in the exhaust system of automobile has been much increased as the emission regulation was getting stronger and the durability of system was requested to be improved by the advanced countries including U.S.A. around world. The perfomance target of the system can be achieved by improving the flow distribution of exhaust gas. CFD is not only an economical tool in view of time and cost but also an efficient method for the optimal design.<br/> In this study, we suggested the improved flow distribution for the exhaust system of a developing vehicle. The gas flow distribution was calculated by using the commercialized CFD code, STAR-CD.<br/>

본 연구에서는 궤간가변윤축의 강도를 일반 차축과 대비하여 평가하였다. 차축에 일체형 철제 차륜이 강제 압입된 일반적인 철도차량 윤축의 구성과 달리 궤간가변윤축은 궤간가변 시에 궤간을 고정하는 부품이 일시적으로 궤간고정을 해제하면서 차륜-차축이 독립회전을 하는 구조이며, 궤간이 일정한 구간에서는 별도 부품과의 메커니즘을 통해 차축과 차륜 간 회전력이 전달되는 구조이다. 따라서, 일체형 윤축과는 별개로 차량의 구동 및 제동 시에 해당 부품이 끼워지는 차축부위의 강도가 충분한 지 검토할 필요가 있다. 특히 구동대차용으로 궤간가변윤축을 적용하고자 하는 경우에는 더욱 중요하게 검토되어야 하겠다.
