Concrete Shear Strength of HIRC Beams Reinforced with a SMA

The aim of the study is to evaluate the concrete shear strength and structural behavior of two general beams and eight shape memory alloys (SMAs)-reinforced beams under the flexural test. This work compares the existing reference formula for concrete shear strength with test result to provide the basic data for the design of highly intelligent reinforced concrete (hereinafter, HIRC) beams. The evaluation of the concrete shear strength was performed with effective depth (d=65, 70, 80), SMA diameter change (ø=2.0, 2.5) as the main variables of the specimens. For the relationship between the effective depth and the Vexp/Vcal, the test result shows that the concrete shear strength gradually approaches 1.0 as the effective depth length increase. For the AIJ formula, the specimens are approached evenly for comparison between Vexp/Vcal and the by-product (garnet, fly-ash) reinforced specimen; however, other formulas indicate a deviation.
혼합구조로 이루어진 보-기둥 접합부의 구조적 거동 특성

본 연구는 최근의 건설 환경 변화에 따른 여러 가지 제문제점들에 대한 구조적 측면에서의 대응책의 하나로서 새로운 구조 시스템 전개를 위해 이종구조부재로 구성된 보기둥 접합부 모델을 제안한 것이다. 본 연구에서는 장스팬 S보의 강성을 향상시키기 위해 S조의 단부를 RC조로 보강하여 강성 및 내력증대를 꾀하였으며, 이종구조 사이의 원활한 응력 전달을 목적으로 SRC조 단부의 보 주근은 U자형 갈고리 모양으로 정착하여 철골 플랜지에 용접 접합하였다. 일련의 실험을 통해 접합부 강성 및 내력 특성을 고찰하였고 본 접합부의 가능성을 제시하였다. This study proposed to beam-column joint model consisting of different type structural member to develop new structural system in the structural viewpoint as to a method to overcome various problem according to change of construction environment. This study promoted rigidity and capacity to stiffen reinforced concrete for steel structure end to increase rigidity of long spaned steel beam, and welt to steel flange to anchor U-shaped main bar of SRC structure end to easy stress flow between the different type structure. Through the series of experiments, proposed to possibility of this joint model, and investigated joint rigidity and capacity.

Effects of pulsed electric filed (PEF) processing combined with heating (H-PEF processing) on the inactivation of microorganisms and the physicochemical properties of mixed mandarin and Hallabong tangor (MH) juice were studied. Using a pilot-scale PEF system, MH juice, pre-heated at 55 °C, was PEF-treated at 19 kV/cm of electric field and 170 kJ/L of specific energy and the juice, pre-heated at 70 °C, was PEF-treated at 16 kV/cm and 100 kJ/L or 12 kV/cm and 150 kJ/L. H-PEF processing at 70 °C–16 kV/cm–100 kJ/L reduced the aerobe, yeast/mold, and coliform counts of MH juice by 3.9, 4.3, and 0.8 log CFU/mL, respectively, without affecting the ascorbic acid concentration and antioxidant capacity of juice. H-PEF processing changed juice color and browning degree (p\0.05), but not total soluble solid content or pH. By controlling initial juice temperature and electric field strength, H-PEF processing can be an effective pasteurization method for mixed juice with minimal changes in quality.
호혜적/공감적 소구 유형과 장애인 태도의 상호작용에 따른 돕기 메시지 수용 효과의 차이

본 연구는 장애인 돕기 캠페인을 대상으로 장애인 태도에 따라 호혜적/공감적 메시지 유형의 소구력에 차이가 있는지 조사하였다. 호혜적/공감적 소구는 기존에 많이 연구된 이성적/감성적 소구를 돕기라는 주제와 어울리는 형태로 개선, 보완한 대조 대비적 설득 방식이다. 장애인 태도는 장애인을 편견 없이 동등한 권리와 자유를 향유하는 존재로 인식하는 정도를 의미한다. 150명의 참여자를 대상으로 장애인 돕기를 촉구하는 설득 메시지를 보여주고, 호혜적/공감적 소구유형을 집단 간 변인으로 교차하여 실험하였다. 그 결과 메시지 태도와 행위 의도에서 상호작용이 도출되었다. 실험 결과, 호혜적 소구는 장애인 태도가 더 우호적인 사람들에게 메시지 태도와 행위 의도에 더 효과적인 것으로 나타났고, 공감적 소구는 장애인 태도의 우호적인 정도에 의해 크게 영향을 받지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과는 돕기 메시지의 전달에는 감성적인 호소가 더 영향력이 크다는 기존 연구의 결과들과 차별적인 것으로 상황에 따라서는 이성적으로 호소하는 방식이 효과적이라는 증거를 제시한다. The current study examined whether the relative effects of reciprocal/empathic appeal depend on the recipient’s pre-attitude shown persuasive messages for disabled people. Reciprocal/empathic appeal type is an improved and complemented form of rational/emotional appeal considering the theme of helping. Pre-attitude toward the disabled is the extent to which a person recognizes people with disabilities as having equal rights and freedom from the perspective of social inclusion. One hundred and fifty participants were shown the messages advocating aid for the disabled with the experimental design of appeal type by pre-attitude. The significant interactions were found in the results of message attitudes and behavioral intention. Reciprocal type was more effective to the individuals with higher pre-attitude than those with lower pre-attitude. Empathic appeal did not elicit any significant difference. The results of this study are different from the previous findings that emotional appeal was more influential than rational appeal in the delivery of messages for helping and provides the evidence that rational appeal can be more effective than emotional appeal depending on the situation.
H형강의 크기효과 및 전단보강방법에 따른 합성보 거동 평가

The performance of composite beams comprising end-reinforced concrete (RC) connecting to center-steel concrete (SC) under monotonic loads is described in this paper. The experiment took four kinds H-steel size effects as a bending specimen, three kinds of steel ratio and shear reinforcing methods as the main parameter. The main shear reinforcing methods are as follows: horizontal reinforcing (type-web), with stirrups and without stirrups. It showed difference in structural performance ductility, energy dissipation capacity and shear according to the attaching method of reinforcing. The behavior modes of overall specimens, namely, bending failure in beam, bending-shear failure in beam and shear failure in beam were observed. Test results showed that the composite beam constructed with a reinforcing method exhibited excellent strength, deformation capacity in comparison with the regular RC beam. It is noted that the most effective methods were horizontal reinforcing one and H-steel size effects 0.8% percent.
