A malignant sarcoma of soft tissue that arises near but not in a joint, most often in an adolescent or young adult, is typically slowgrowing, and may escapes notice until it causes pain. The diagnosis of this tumor can be suspected by X-ray or imaging, made by biopsy, and confirmed by chromosome studies. Cytogenic studies reveal a translocation between the X chromosome and chromosome 18 in the tumor cells. The most common treatment for the tumor is surgery to remove the entire tumor, nearby muscle, and lymph nodes. Synovial sarcoma tends to recur locally and to involve regional lymph nodes. Distant metastasis occurs in half cases. The well-documented and adequately followed cases are currently lacking and this report described an instance of Synovial sarcoma good result after treatment and review of literature.

Purpose : Autogenous bone has been reported the most effective materials but it has disadvantage of difficulties in preservation. Cryopreservation is one of the method but simply freezing brings about cell necrosis which affect the result of bone graft. Accordingly, for the research of the ciyopreservative effect on bone regeneration after replantation of freezed autogenous bone, animal study was done and this is the report of preliminary result. Materials and Methods : Six rabbits were used as experimental animals. Surgical defects were created on the distal femoral heads and mesial tibial heads of each animal using trephine drill.(5mm diameter) the harvested bones were cryopreserved with/without cryoprotectant in-80 C refrigerator for one week, the defects were filled with cryopreserved bone with/without cryoprotectants as experimental group and control group. Then, the animals were sacrified at 1,2 and 3 weeks after surgery. With Goldner’ s modified Masson trichrome stainign and semiautomatic image analysis system, I observed the change of the cells and bone formation Results : After bone graft, bone formation and active remdeling prosess were examined in all experimental groups and the control. But the intensity of such activities of EG(-) group were somewhat weaker than that of Control group and EG(+) group. Control group was the best in bone formation and bone remodeling. Especially EG(+) groupresembled in histologic findings and was observed of bony callus. Histologic findings showed superior bony quantity and quality in EG(+) group than that in EG(-)group

원래 대장균에서 사용하게 제조된 tac과 그것의 space길이를 변화시켜 만든 다른 3종류의 promoter들을 고초균 기원의 endoglucanase 구조 유전자와 융합시켜 chimera 유전자들을 만든 다음, 이들을 대장균과 고초균에서 비교 발현시키면서 고유의 promoter가 아닌 인공적인 tac 및 그것의 space 변환 promoter들이 이들 판이한 2종류의 숙주 세포에서 endoglucanase 유전자를 어느 정도 발현시키는지를 관찰 ㆍ 비교하였다. The tac, originally constructed for the use in Escherichia coli, and its space length mutant promoters, made in this study, were fused to an endoglucanase structural gene isolated from a Bacillus subtilis. The extent of expression of the above fused chimeric genes in E. coli and B. subtilis were observed with a view to detecting efficient artificial promoters of endoglucanase gene working well in B. subtilis other than its native promoter as well as examining and comparing expression of the endoglucanase gene by tac and its space modified promoters in two different host cells.

Partial nucleotide sequence (nt 1-1842) of chloramphenicol resistance plasmid pKH7 has been reported previously and residual nucleotide sequence (nt 1843-4118) of pKH7 was determined and then the complete nucleotide sequence of pKH7 was obtained. pKH7 consists of 4118 bp and has three ORFs. Besides Rep and CAT proteins described in previous paper, Pre protein which mediates site-specific recombination in Staphylococcus aureus was found to be on pKH7. RS_A, a site-specific recombination site of Pre protein, and palA, a specific lagging-strand conversion signal, was also found in pKH7. Amino acid sequence of Pre protein of pKH7 was compared with those of other antibiotic resistant Staphylococcus aureus plasmids.

Guillain-Barre syndrome(GBS) was reported by Landry in 1859. GBS, called acute inflammatory polyneuritis, is a disorder in which the body's immune system attacks parts of the his or her own peripheral nervous system. The GBS is characterized by symmetrical rapidly ascending paralysis that ocasionally leads to respiratory embarrassment and death. The causes and mechanisms of this syndrome are unknown yet. The typical GBS could be diagnosed by the patient's symptoms and physical exams like rapid onset of weakness, paralysis and loss of reflex. For the diagnosis of the analysis of CSF and electrical test of nerve and muscle function can be performed. Most of casese usually occur shortly after viral infection. It is not sure, but plasma exchange, intravenous immunoglobulin, and corticosteroids are generally used for the treatment of GBS.This is a case report of a patient with GBS. He was in accidently coincident with tooth extraction of right mandible 3rd molar. The patient had a past history of acute collitis and influenza before tooth extraction.
항생제 다제내성균 Staphylococcus aureus SA2로부터 분리한 테트라사이클린 내성 플라스미드 pKH6의 염기서열

한국에서 임산균주로부터 분리한 테트라사이클린(Tc) 내성 플라스미드 pKH6의 전체 염기서열을 결정하여 가장 대표적인 Tc 내성 플라스미드인 pT181과 비교하였다. pKH6의 전체 길이는 4439bp로 pT181과 동일하게 나타났으며 염기서열은 7개의 염기에서 차이를 보였다. 전부 다 염기쌍이 치환된 형태로 나타났으며 그 중 3개는 coding 부위에서 일어났다. coding 부위에서 일어난 경우에도 1개는 동일한 아미노산을 coding 하였기 때문에 pT181과 차이가 없었으며 RepC와 Pre 단백질에 있어 각각 1개의 아미노산에서 차이를 나타내었다. The complete nucleotide sequence of pKH6, a tetracycline-resistance (Tc^r) plasmid isolated from multi-drug resistant Staphlococcus aureus SA2, has been determined and compared with that of the staphylococcal Tc^r plasmid pT181. The nucleotide sequences of the two plasmids are in agreement except for 7 nucleotides. All differences are caused by base pair substitutions. Among 6 substitutions, 3 occurred in coding regions. However, only tow base substitutions in coding regions resulted in changes of amino acid sequences in two different ORFs of repC and Pre proteins.
