사교육비가 우리나라 가계와 사회 전체에 부담을 주고 있다. 교육부의 2015년 초중고 사교육비 조사 결과에 따르면, 우리나라 사교육비 총 규모는 17조 8천억 원이며, 1인당 월평균 명목 사교육비는 24만 4 천원으로 나타났다. 사교육비의 대부분은 대학입학을 위한 준비과정으로 선행학습에 투여되고 있다. 선행 학습을 규제하기 위한 정부의 법적, 제도적 노력들이 지속되고 있음에도 불구하고, 사교육과 선행학습에 대한 관심이 줄어들지 않고 있다. 이 연구에서는 대학입시를 앞두고 있는 고등학교 재학생과 학부모의 선 행학습에 대한 인식과 경험을 알아보았다. 선행학습을 경험했거나 인지했던 고등학생이 지니고 있는 선행 학습에 대한 필요성과 개념, 공교육정상화법 실행 이후의 변화와 공교육 활성화를 위한 의견 등을 청취하 였다. 결국, 공교육의 활성화와 선행학습의 규제는 어느 하나의 법률 제안이나 개별 대학의 입시정책 개선 으로 바꿀 수 있는 사안이 아니다. 사회 전반의 의식 수준을 높이고 미래교육에 대한 패러다임 구축을 통 해 점진적으로 추진해 나가야 할 사안이다. 앞으로의 미래교육은 점수 위주의 경쟁보다는 서로 배움과 상 호 나눔을 통한 자아실현과 지속가능한 공동체의 성장을 추구해야 할 것이기 때문이다. In this study, as an extra learning form, ‘prerequisite learning’ refers to those which study the subject in advance at least one month or more than their regular curricular. The purpose of this study is to examine the recognitions and experiences on the prerequisite learning in high school students. By doing so, we can try to reflect the educational viewpoints not for the score-gathering but for the self-realizing and sustainable developing community-constructing, and to contribute to changing our educational paradigms for the future education.
Cell Migration: Regulation of Cytoskeleton by Rap1 in Dictyostelium discoideum

Cell movement involves a coordinated regulation of the cytoskeleton,F-actin-mediated protrusions at the front and myosin-mediated contraction of the posterior of a cell. The small GTPase Rap1 functions as a key regulator in the spatial and temporal control of cytoskeleton reorganization for cell migration. This review outlines the establishment of cell polarity by differential localizations of the cytoskeleton and discusses the spatial and temporal regulation of cytoskeleton reorganization via the Rap1 signaling pathway during chemotaxis with a focus on recent advances in the study of chemotaxis using a simple eukaryotic model organism,Dictyostelium discoideum.

BACKGROUND: Although rapid recovery of cardiac contraction is a hallmark of Takotsubo cardiomyopathy (TTC), the time course of recovery is still ill-defined. We aimed to investigate the time course of left ventricular (LV) functional recovery using 2D speckle tracking echocardiography and electrocardiography (ECG). METHODS: Thirty-two consecutive patients (65 ± 16 years, 26 women) with TTC were prospectively recruited. ECG and echocardiography were performed at baseline (No. 1), before discharge (No. 2), and at 1 week (No. 3) and 5 weeks (No. 4) after discharge. Echocardiographic images and ECGs were analyzed to measure ejection fraction (LVEF), global and regional longitudinal strain (GLS, RLS), and T wave inversion (TWI) scores. RESULTS: At baseline, LVEF, GLS, and TWI score were 39 ± 8.8%, -11 ± 4.3%, and 1.8 ± 3.0, respectively. Both LVEF and GLS continued to improve from baseline at the No. 2, No. 3, and No. 4 timepoints (49 ± 9.3%, 56 ± 7.5%, 58 ± 6.8%, respectively, for LVEF and -15 ± 4.2%, -17 ± 3.9%, -19 ± 3.4%, respectively, for GLS). TWI score was decreased at the No. 3 ECG relative to baseline and then increased (No. 2: -2.5 ± 3.0, No. 3: -2.9 ± 5.2, No. 4: -0.3 ± 4.4). In the apical subgroup, the reverse base-to-apex gradient of RLS had disappeared by the No. 3 echocardiography. CONCLUSIONS: Contractile function as assessed by LVEF and GLS recovered continuously in patients with TTC throughout the acute and subacute phases, with rapid recovery in the acute phase. Negative T wave progressed during the acute phase and recovered more slowly during the subacute phase.
Surface Modification of Textured Vegetable Protein to Produce an Edible Scaffold for Cultured Meat

Cultured meat is in the spotlight as a future food for ethical and sustainable meat production. In cultured meat production, a myriad technology is involved to proliferate and differentiate muscle cells in vitro to mimic the properties of slaughtered meat. Among them, scaffold is the core technology since it organizes muscle cells in the nature form of muscle tissue. Here, we used textured vegetable protein (TVP), the commercialized alternative meat made of a defatted soy flour product, as an edible scaffold. Then, we developed a coating film to modify TVP surface. This film consisted of natural polysaccharides induces cell attachment. After applying the film to the TVP surface to produce a cultured meat prototype, we evaluated the enhancement of flavor and texture of the prototype due to the film. This research is the first attempt to develop cultured meat using completely edible materials.
염증성 장질환 환자에서 Clostridioides 감염

Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), comprising Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, is a chronic inflammatory condition of the gastrointestinal tract, which is often accompanied by altered gut microbial composition. Gut dysbiosis in IBD is considered to be the reason for the high risk of Clostridioides difficile infection (CDI) in patients with IBD. Therefore, CDI should be evaluated in IBD patients with a symptom flare. Medical treatment of non-severe CDI in IBD is similar to that in non-IBD patients and includes oral vancomycin or fidaxomicin. The risk of recurrent CDI in IBD is higher than in non-IBD patients and this could be mitigated by fecal microbiota transplantation. As CDI may worsen the clinical outcomes of IBD, patients should be carefully monitored and an escalation of IBD therapy needs to be considered when there is no improvement seen with the antimicrobial treatment of CDI. This review discusses the risk, pathophysiology, diagnosis, and management of CDI in IBD.
