The hypolipidemic effect of the diet containing uncooked food was evaluated in hyperlipidemic rats. Body weightgain, food intake and food efficiency ratio were not significantly different among the diet groups examined. Significant decrease in plasma total cholesterol(8.8%), triglyceride(10.0%) and LCL-cholesterol(34.8%) were observed in uncooked food diet groups, and the liver total cholesterol and triglyceride level to the extent of 8.7% and 16.7%, respectively. Uncooked food groups substantially increased the plasma HDL to total cholesterol ratio(47.2%) and decreased the atherogenic index(37.6%) as well. Gut transit time for uncooked food was significantly higher, up to 104 minutes, compared to that of control diet group. These results suggest that uncooked food may have beneficial effects on blood lipid level and gut transit time in hyperlipidemc rats.
영지버섯으로 배양된 한국 유기농 토종 쌀의 생산 조건과 혈당강하 효과에 관한 연구

영지버섯으로 배양된 유기 한국 토종 쌀이 항당뇨 효과에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위하여 영지버섯의 액체배양과 유기 한국 토종 쌀에서의 영지버섯 배양 및 생산된 유기 한국 토종 영지버섯 쌀을 당뇨가 유발된 흰쥐에 경구투여한 후, 혈당, 혈청 지질 및 alanine aminotransferase(ALT)와 aspartate aminotransferase(AST) 활성을 조사하였다. 영지버섯 액체배양 조건은 pH가 4.5와 5.0이고, 온도는 $30^{\circ}C$에서 최적인 것으로 나타났고, 유기 한국 토종 영지버섯 쌀 생산 조건으로는, 물리적 형태나 배양 조건 등을 고려했을 때, 1kg의 토종 쌀에 7.5%의 종균을 접종하여, $28^{\circ}C$에서 9일간 배양하는 것으로 나타났다. 혈당 강하 효과 시험에서 당뇨 유발군에서, 영지버섯으로 배양된 유기 한국 토종 쌀의 급여군에 있어서의 혈당의 감소정도가 대조군보다 유의하게 감소하였다. 또한 영지버섯으로 배양된 유기 한국 토종 쌀의 급여군에 있어서의 혈장 total cholesterol과 triglyceride는 대조군에서 보다 낮은 수치를 나타내었고, ALT와 AST 활성은 대조군에서 보다 낮은 수치를 나타내었다. This study was conducted to investigate the hypoglycemic effects and the production conditions of the Korean organic native rice cultured by Ganoderma lucidum. The broth culture of Ganoderma lucidum, the innoculation and culture of Ganoderma lucidum to the Korean organic native rice, and the oral administration of the Korean organic native rice cultured by Ganoderma lucidum to the streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats, were carried out. Then, the blood glucose level, the serum total cholesterol and triglyceride, and the activities of alanine aminotransferase and aspartate aminotransferase, were analyzed. The pH 4.5 at $30^{\circ}C$ was the optimal condition of the broth culture of Ganoderma lucidum. When the physical shape and the smell of the produced rice were considered, the optimal conditions to produce the Korean organic native rice cultured by Ganoderma lucidum, were the seeding of Ganoderma lucidum to Korean organic native rice in the rate of 7.5% weight, and the culture period of 9days at $28^{\circ}C$. In streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats, the blood glucose level of the dieted group by the Korean organic native rice cultured by Ganoderma lucidum for 2 weeks, were significantly decreased when compared with the control. And, the levels of the total cholesterol and triglyceride in serum were ranked less than those of the control. Also, in streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats, the activities of alanine aminotransferase and aspartate aminotransferase in the serum of the dieted group by the Korean organic native rice cultured by Ganoderma lucidum for 2 weeks, were lower than those of the control.
스트렙토조토신 유도 당뇨백서의 골조직 재생에 흡수성 차폐막이 미치는 영향

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effects of bioresorbable membranes in guided bone regeneration of streptozotocin induced diabetic rats. 50 Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly categorized into 4 groups: Group 1 & 2 had 10 normal rats each and group 3 & 4 included 15 streptozotocin induced diabetic rats each. Defect measuring 7mm in diameter was formed on every rat calvarium. No membrane was used in groups 1 & 3 and membranes were used in groups 2 & 4. The rates were sacrificed at 2 and 4 weeks after defect formation. Routine histological specimens were prepared. Masson-trichrome and HE stain were done before light microscopy. Guided regenerative potential was evaluated by measuring the amount of new bone formation in the calvarial defect by histomorphometry. Following results were obtained. 1. New bone formation in the diabetic groups was significantly less that than in the normal groups regardless of membrane use(p<0.05). 2. In the comparison of new bone formation in the normal groups, membrane group showed significantly more bone formation(p<0.1). 3. When the amount of new bone formation was compared in the diabetic groups, more bone was formed in the membrane groups but the difference was not statistically significant.4. In the normal groups the amount of new bone formation was significantly greater at 4 weeks compared to that at2 weeks(p<0.05) but amount of bone regeneration at 4 weeks was not significantly greater than that at 2 weeks in both diabetic groups.
고지질이 유발된 흰쥐에서 버섯된장 추출물의 Hypolipidemic 효과

버섯된장 추출물이 고지혈증에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위하여 고지혈증이 유도된 흰쥐에 세 종류의 버섯된장 추출물을 경구투여한 후 혈청 및 간장에서의 지질 성분을 측정하였다. 그 결과 체중 증가량에 있어서 영지버섯 된장군(ESG)이 대조군에 비해 10%가 유의하게 낮았으나, 다른 군들은 차이가 없었다. 식이 섭취량, 식이 효율 및 간과 신장의 무게에 있어서는 버섯된장 추출물 투여군들이 대조군과 별다른 차이가 없었으나, 비장 무게는 ESG군이 다른 군에 비해 유의하게 낮았다. 혈청 총 cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol 및 간장 총 cholesterol 농도는 버섯된장 추출물 투여군 모두가 대조군에 비해 유의하게 낮았으며, 특히 ESG군이 대조군보다 혈청 총 cholesterol 20%, LDL-cholesterol 33%, 및 간장 총 cholesterol 17%가 낮게 나타났다. 버섯된장 추출물 투여군들이 대조군에 비해 유의적인 차이는 없었지만, 혈청 HDL-cholesterol은 높았고, triglyceride와 동맥경화지수는 낮게 나타났다. 혈청 총 cholesterol에 대한 HDL-cholesterol의 농도비는 버섯된장 추출물 투여균 모두에서 대조군에 비해 유의적으로 높았으며, 특히 ESG군이 대조군에 비해 35%가 높게 나타났다. 이상의 결과로 버섯된장 추출물들, 특히 ESG가 고지혈증 억제작용뿐만 아니라 관상동맥경화증을 비롯한 각종 동맥 경화증을 예방할 수 있는 가능성과 간장에서 지질 농도의 억제효과가 있음을 시사해주고 있다. The hypolipidemic effects of soybean paste containing mycelia of Phellinus linteus, Cordyceps militaris, Ganoderma lucidum were evaluated in hyperlipidemic rats. Body weight of the rats fed with soybean paste containing mycelia of Ganoderma lucidum (ESG) were significantly lower than control group whereas, there was no significant difference in body weight in other diet groups. Food intake, food efficiency ratio, and liver and kidney weights were not significantly different among the diet groups examined. However, the spleen weight of ESG group was markedly lower than other groups. Significant decreases in serum total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol and liver total cholesterol were also observed in all diet groups tested. All groups fed with soybean paste containing mycelia of mushroom were almost equally effective in increasing plasma HDL level and decreasing the atherogenic index, whereas the ratio of HDL to total cholesterol was significantly increased in all experimental diet groups.

Purpose: Korean medical services are not balanced across regions and social classes. To prevent mortality gaps, Korea must distribute its medical resources more efficiently. Patient factors affecting emergency room visits serve as basic data for determining best practices for public healthcare distribution. Methods: The data included 18 473 visits by 14 949 de-identified patients who visited a public emergency room over one year. The dependent variable was the number of emergency room visits. A Poisson regression was conducted with the independent variables, comprising sociodemographic, socioeconomic, and spatial accessibility factors and patient characteristics. Results: Older men with higher Korean Triage and Acuity Scale scores visited more frequently. Greater patient- hospital distance decreased visits; however, the presence of a hospital within 1 km of a patient’s residence did not affect the number of visits. The use of 119 services was negatively correlated with the number of visits. Visits increased with more medical benefits. Conclusions: Patient age, distance to hospital, use of 119 services, and medical benefits should be considered when planning or managing public hospitals in Korea.
