        PBL(Project-Based Learning)을 이용한 학습동기 및 자기주도적 학습력 상승 효과 : 치과위생사 인적자원개발을 중심으로

        This study aimed to investigate the learning effect of project-based learning(PBL) based on community dental hygiene education. In this study, we sampled 38 dental hygiene students(4th grade) composed of 9 PBL group in B university(in Cheonan). Each team selected a target group for 9 places to apply the oral health promotion project, which was carried out for 8 weeks from planning to evaluation. It was surveyed to analyze the learning effect of PBL on learning motivation and self-directed ability with 47 questions of the motivation and self-directed learning ability developed in the previous study using paired t-test pre and post PBL. In results, learning motivation was increased after PBL(p<.05), and self-directed learning effect were not increased after PBL. And, according to learning ability, there was no difference between learning motivation and self-directed learning ability before PBL, but self-directed learning effect was higher for students with high learning ability after PBL. In conclusion, project-based learning for community dental hygiene has the effect of improving learners' motivation and self-directed learning ability for the students with high learning ability. This study suggests that PBL contributes to improve learning motivation in community dental hygiene education. It is meaningful that this study analyzed the effects of community-linked PBL in the areas of learning motivation, learning attitude, and self-directed learning ability. 본 연구는 지역 사회 치위생학 실습 수업을 프로젝트 중심 수업(Project Based Learning; 이하 PBL)으로 진행한 후 학습태도, 학습동기, 및 자기주도성 요소 측면에서 학습자의 학습효과를 분석하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 연구대상은 충남소재 4년제 B대학 치위생학 실습수업 수강생인 38명의 치위생학과 4학년 학생들이었고 4-5명으로 구성된 9개의 팀으로 지정된 5개 사업대상별 세부 주제를 선정하고 기획·설계한 구강보건교육을 지역과 연계된 9개 사업 장소에서 8 주 동안 진행하였다. PBL 수업이 학습동기와 자기주도력에 미치는 학습효과를 분석하기 위해 선행연구에서 개발한 설문 문항 중 학습동기와 자기주도적 학습력을 대상으로 한 47개 문항으로paired t-test를 사용하여 PBL수업 경험 전후 효과를 비교했다. 분석결과 1. PBL 수업 경험 이후 학습 동기는 증가하였으나 자기 주도 학습력은 유의미한 수준의 변화를 보이지 않았다. 2. PBL 수업 이전에는 학습자의 학습역량에 따른 학습동기와 자기주도적 학습력 모두 차이를 보이지 않았으나, PBL 수업 이후, 학습역량이 높은 학생의 경우 자기주도력이 더 상승하였다. 본 연구 결과는 지역사회 치위생학 실습교육을 위한 프로젝트 기반 학습이 학습자의 학습동기를 증진시키는 효과가 있으며 학습역량이 높은 학생의 경우 학습태도 및 자기주도성에서 학습역량이 낮은 학생에 비하여 향상의 폭이 높음을 보여준다. 본 연구는 현장경험 및 지역사회 연계 학습의 필요성을 강조 했던 선행연구들에서 더 나아가 실제 지역사회 연계 PBL수업의 효과를 학습동기, 학습태도, 자기주도성의 영역별로 분석을 실행한 연구라는 점에서 의의가 있다.

        모친구강보건지식이 유치우식증의 발생과 치료에 미치는 영향

        The purpose of this study was to assess the influence of mothers' oral health knowledge(OHK) on prevalence and treatment of deciduous dental caries in their children. 295 aged 4 and 5-year-old children and their mothers were selected in Seoul. The mothers who responded the pretested questionnaires were consisted of 16 items regarding home OHK, school OHK and community OHK. Data were collected by oral examination on children and questionnaire survey on their mothers. The results were as follow; 1. Mothers' OHK was an influencing factor of incidence of children's dental caries. Therefore, The relation of Mothers' OHK and the score of children's dmft was showed inverse relationship. 2. Mothers' home OHK was not an influencing factor of treatment of children's dental caries. It is suggested that comprehensive incremental oral health care for children should be educated for their mothers. 3. Mothers' school OHK was not an influencing factor of incidence of children's dental caries. 4. Mothers' community OHK was not an influencing factor of incidence of children' dental caries. 5. Mothers' school OHK and community OHK was not an influencing factor of treatment of children's dental caries. 6. It is recommended that school OHK and community OHK should be included on the process of oral health knowledge education.

      • 뇌졸중 환자의 구강건강상태

        Background: Stroke is the disease among the most prevalent causes of death. Periodontitis and dental caries are the major oral diseases which causes tooth loss. The aim of this study was to survey oral health status of stroke patients. Methods: 130 stroke patients were surveyed for oral health status including the periodontitis and dental caries. Mean age of subjects was 58¡¾11 years old, and 63.8% of the participants were male. 61.5% of the participants were hemorrhagic, and 47.7% of participants was left hemiplegia. We registered the number of teeth, decayed, missing and filled teeth (DMFT) index, the level of periodontitis in each individual. Results: The caries prevalence of stroke patients was 94.6%, the DMFT index was 11.6, decayed teeth (Dt) rate was 17.7%, and missing teeth (Mt) rate was 38.2%. The prevalence of severe periodontitis 92.8%, and mean periodontal index (MPI) was 2.8. The periodontitis of stroke patients with hypertention and diabetes was severe (P〈0.05) Conclusion: 1) The DMFT index and MPI increased according to ages, so oral care should be included in the rehabilitation of the elderly. 2) The DMFT index was low in the people able to toothbrush by himself, so toothbrushing should be instructed. 3) The periodontitis of ischemic stroke patient was severer than that of hemorrhagic patient, so the intensive periodontal management for ischemic patient should be done.         Association between Obesity and Periodontitis in Korean

        Objective: Obesity is a major public health concern worldwide. Periodontitis is a major oral health problem and was reported to be associated with obesity. So, the present study aimed to examine the association between obesity and periodontitis in Korean. Methods: The study used data from 2010 to 2015 the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. A dependent variable, periodontitis, was decided as community periodontal index 3. Obesity was defined as body mass index (BMI), and independent variables are socioeconomic variables (sex, age, residence, economic status, education levels, and occupation), health-related variables (drinking, smoking, and hypertension, diabetes, stress, physical activity), and oral health-related variables were collected. Multiple logistic regression analysis was used to evaluate the association between obesity and periodontitis. Results: In males, 26.5% were overweight and 39.1% were obese. In females, 22.8% were overweight and 30.7% were obese. The higher the BMI was, the lower socioeconomic status was. Periodontitis war higher among them with the lower economic level, the lower education, hypertension and diabetes, and stress. Moreover, periodontitis was significantly associated with obesity in multivariate logistic analyses. The odds ratio (OR) (95% confidence interval [CI]) was 1.28 (95% CI, 1.18-1.39) with adjusted for confounders. This OR increased in female (OR [95% CI], 1.39 [1.22-1.56]). Conclusion: This study demonstrates that obesity is closely associated with oral status, especially with periodontitis in Korean adults. This association was strong in female. Therefore, integrated intervention programs are required to prevent obesity and periodontits for Koreans on a national scale by sex.

        Relationship between Perceived Oral Symptoms and Oral Health Status

        Objective: The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between perceived oral health and oral health status. Methods: The oral examination and survey data of 219 subjects over 40 years of age were analyzed. All individuals were interviewed by self-reporting questionnaire that focused on previous diseases, vascular risk factors (hypertension, diabetic mellitus,cardiac disease), smoking and drinking habits, social history, BMI, the frequency of daily tooth brushing and the presence of regular dental visits. Dental survey was conducted in relations to the number of teeth, DMFT index, and the pocket depth. Results: 1. Better perceived oral health status was likely to rate their periodontal conditions as good with more teeth remaining and less dental caries. 2. With increasing DMFT index, perceived oral health and periodontal conditions were rated poorly with a severe dry mouth experience. 3. With high CPITN index, perceived periodontal conditions were rated poorly with less number of teeth remaining and a severe dry mouth condition. 4. In a multivariate analysis adjusted for socioeconomic status, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, frequency of daily tooth brushing and regular dental visits, the better perceived oral health status is, the lower DMFT index is. Conclusion: Self-rated oral health is a simple measure and reflects not only the objective oral status but also the socioeconomic status and the psychological effects of oral health. Thus, we should actively use the perceived oral health criteria to promote the nation's oral health.

        일부 치위생학과 학생들의 학습태도 및 강의형태에 따른 학습매체 만족도 조사

        Objectives: The purpose of the study was to investigate the satisfaction with instruction medium according to learner attitude and lecture mode in the dental hygiene students. Methods: A web-based self-reported questionnaire was complected by 155 dental hygiene students in Cheonan from May 26 to June 5, 2015. The questionnaire consisted of general characteristics of the subjects, school adaptation, interest to learn, effort to learn, faculty centered lecture, learner centered lecture, self-directed learning, motivation to learn, characteristics of each subject, and satisfaction with lecture mode. The study was approved by institutional review board (IRB) by Baekseok University. Chi-square test and multivariate logistic regression were used to evaluate the satisfaction to medium of instruction according to explanation factors. Results: The lecture mode, opportunity and motivation to learn, interest to learn and effort to learn were the significant factors to satisfaction with instruction medium. In multivariate logistic regression model, the adjusted odds ratio was 6.28 for the opportunity to learn and 4.87 for the interesting to learn. Conclusions: The satisfaction with instruction medium is the most important factor that decides the lecture mode and learner attitude including opportunity to learn and concern to learn.

        전동칫솔을 이용한 칫솔질 교육이 지적장애인의 치은건강증진에 미치는 효과

        본 연구는 지적장애인을 대상으로 전동칫솔을 이용한 칫솔질 교육 후 치면세균막 감소 및 칫솔질 시 출혈여부를 조사하여 치은건강증진도를 조사하고자 2015년도 6월부터 2015년도 9월까지 경기도 광주 및 천안 인근의 시설에 입소해 있는 장애인 50명을 대상으로 2회에 걸친 반복적인 일대일 칫솔질 교육 후 5주 후에 치면세균막 지수와 칫솔질 시 출혈여부 감소를 분석하였다. 성별로는 남성는 32명, 여성은 18명이었으며 반복적인 칫솔질교육은 칫솔질 교육 5주 후에도 구강환경 개선에 효과가 있었는데, 치면세균막 지수는 1차 방문시(잇솔질 교육 이전)에 1.71±1.21이었고 2차 방문시(잇솔질 교육 일주일 후)에 0.93±0.87로 감소하였으며, 4주간격을 두고 3차 방문하였을 때도 치면세균막 지수가 0.88±0.84로 낮게 유지되었다(p<0.05). 이러한 치면세균막지수는 성별, 장애등급별, 칫솔질 자립여부 및 칫솔질 횟수로 분류하였을 때도 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 그리고 칫솔질 후 출혈여부는 1차 방문시보다 2차 방문시에 많이 감소하였으며 4주간격을 두고 3차 방문하였을 때도 칫솔질 후 출혈이 더 감소하였으며 성별, 장애등급별, 칫솔질 자립여부 및 칫솔질 횟수로 분류하였을 때에도 감소하는 경향성을 보였다(p<0.05). The purpose of this study was to assess the effect of tooth brushing instruction using powered toothbrushes to reduce plaque index and bleeding on brushing in the people with intellectually disability. Tooth brushing instruction with powered toothbrushes was carried out for 50 persons admitted to a welfare facility or special school, repeatedly by 1 week interval, from May to September, 2015, and 1 month later, plaque index and bleeding on brushing were examined. Plaque index decreased significantly (in 2nd visit, from 1.71±1.21 to 0.93±0.87), and results were maintained in last examination (in 1 month). Bleeding on brushing decreased significantly (in 2nd visit and 3rdvisit, from 2.31±1.90 to 0.31±0.66). Therefore, powered toothbrush was effective to reduce plaque index and bleeding on brushing for the people with intellectual disability. Plaque index and bleeding on toothbrushing decreased also in classification in according to sex, level of disability, independence of toothbrushing, and frequency of toothbrushing.

        구강건강상태와 감지 건강상태(EuroQol-5D)와의 연관성

        The purpose of this study was to examine association between oral health status and perceived general health symptom. We analyzed 14,231subjects who participated in Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (2007∼2009). All individuals were examined by a questionnaire about socioeconomic history, smoking and drinking habit, the frequency of daily tooth brushing, the presence of regular dental visit, and EuroQol-5D. Dental survey was conducted to find the decayed, missing, and filled teeth (DMFT) index and community periodontal index. Subjects with perceived problem with mobility had higher DMFT index (odds ratio, 1.18, p<0.001). Subjects with with perceived problem with pain/discomfort had higher DMFT index (odds ratio, 1.16, p<0.001). Self-rating general health symptom was not associated with periodontitis (p>0.05). Perceived general health was associated with DMFT index. It is recommendable that we can use the perceived general health to predict oral health status.

        치위생학 전공교육이 구강건강증진에 미치는 효과

        Purpose: This study was performed to evaluate the impact of knowledge provided by dental hygiene education on oral health promotion. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional study design was used in which a survey was carried out on 116 dental hygiene students. Self-reported questionnaires were registered regarding income, parent’s education level, perceived health, perceived oral health, perceived periodontal health, interest in oral health, perceived dry mouth, and oral health behaviors. Oral examination was evaluated with decayed teeth, missing teeth, and filled teeth. Plaque index was examined with Q-ray Cam. Results: 1. Decayed, missing and filled teeth index of 116 students was 5.03±3.77, and there was no difference among student’s grades. 2. Perceived oral health and perceived periodontal health were highest in 4th grade students and lowest in 1st grade students. 3. Tooth brushing frequency and regular dental visit increased according to grades (p<0.01). 4. Plaque index of 4th grade students was significantly lower compared to other students (odds ratio of 3rd grade students: 11.76, odds ratio of 2nd grade students: 7.69, odds ratio of 1st grade students: 45.45). Conclusion: This study suggests that dental hygiene education can improve oral hygiene performance of students.
