Radiochemical cis-trans Isomerization of ${\beta}$-Styrylnaphthalene

${\beta}$-스티릴나프타렌의 방사화학적 이성질화 반응을 G값과 방사정류상태를 측정하여 연구하였다. 여기서 얻은 결과와 광화학적 이성질화 반응의 연구결과를 비교함으로써 이 올레핀의 벤젠 용액을 ${\gamma}$-선으로 쪼여주면 들뜬 단일상태와 삼중상태가 다 이성질화 반응에 참여함을 알았다. Radiation-induced cis-trans isomerization of ${\beta}$-styrylnaphthalene is studied by determination of G values and the radiostationary states. The results are compared with data obtained in direct and sensitized photoisomerization of the compound. Both the excited singlet and triplet states are involved in the isomerization of ${\beta}$-styrylnaphthalene in the radiolysis of benzene solution.

The phetochemistry of the model compounds for pyrimidine bases, N-methyl-4-pyridone and N-methyllutidone, is studied. Spectrophotometric and chemical studies on the irradiation of these compounds in aqueous solutions indicate that the hydration occurs at the α-position to nitrogen followed by the ring opening. The products obtained from ring opening undergo some unknown reactions, perhaps oxidations and polymerizations.
