The identifying cause of leakage problems on mechanical seal in a feed water pump of power plant have been difficult because of technical limits of domestic mechanical seal manufacturer and the various conditions of power plants. This paper can get a conclusion through the consideration study and experiment test of mechanical seal characteristics of feed water pump depending on oxygen treatment as follows. The oxygen treatment increase dissolved oxygen and cause a corrosion on the mechanical seal stationary ring composed of antimony as well as leakage problems. For solving leakage problems of seal, to eliminate dissolved oxygen in the cooling water of seal with hydrazine injection can prevent leakage problems of mechanical seal in feed water pump.

The method of water treatment for standard coal power plant had changed from all-volatile treatment to oxygen treatment due to a corrosion of boiler tube and operation costs. That was becoming the cause of serious leakage problems with frequency on mechanical seal of boiler feed water pump. The oxygen treatment increase dissolved oxygen and cause a corrosion on the mechanical seal stationary ring composed of antimony as well as leakage problems. In conclusion, eliminating dissolved oxygen with hydrazine injection can prevent leakage problems of mechanical seal.
영상 센서를 이용한 편대 비행 선도기의 3차원 위치 측정

최근 무인 항공기를 이용하여 탐색 및 정찰을 수행하는 경우와 같이 편대 비행을 통한 무인 항공기의 효율적인 임무 수행의 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 편대 비행을 수행하기 위해서는 상호 위치를 인지할 수 있어야 하며, 적진에 침투하는 경우와 같이 통신이 불가능한 경우 편대 비행이 이루어질 수 없으므로, 영상 센서를 이용하여 선도기의 상대 위치를 측정할 수 있어야 한다. 따라서 본 논문은 영상 센서를 이용하여 비행 중인 경비행기의 상대 위치를 측정하는 실험을 수행하였으며, 소형 무인항공기에 비해 크기가 큰 경비행기와 상사성을 맞추기 위하여 3㎞ 전방의 위치에서부터 접근하고 있는 경우에 대한 실험을 수행하였다. 성능의 정확한 평가를 위하여 GPS를 이용하여 상대 거리 및 상대 위치를 계산하였으며, 영상 센서를 이용하여 측정한 상대 위치를 실시간으로 계산할 수 있도록 하였다. In these days, a need for reconnaissance mission using some UAVs is increased and formation flight capability is more required. To perform a formation flight, a relative position of each aircraft is required, but sometimes it can’t be got using the wireless communication during the reconnaissance in the enemy airspace, thus the relative position of a leader should get using the passive sensors like electro vision sensors. In this paper, experiment for a measurement of relative position using optical camera is treated and a relative position of the 3㎞-ahead target is measured. GPS position is obtained to use as a reference data for accurate analysis and relative position of the target is measured and saved via the real-time running program.

쌍안정 카이랄 스플레이 네마틱 액정표시소자는 스플레이 상태와 $-\pi$ 꼬인 상태를 쌍안정 상태로 사용하는 메모리 액정표시소자이다. 셀 갭/피치의 값이 0.25일 경우 완전한 쌍안정 상태를 갖지만, $-\pi$ 꼬인 상태에서 스플레이 상태로 전이시키기 위하여 fringe 전계를 인가할 경우 픽셀영역은 전계의 왜곡에 의해서 완전한 스플레이 상태가 아니라 $-\pi$ 꼬인 상태를 부분적으로 유지하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 화소영역에서 두 안정한 상태가 공존하지 않는 $-\pi$ 꼬인 상태를 어두운 상태로 사용하는 반사형 쌍안정 카이랄 스플레이 네마틱 액정표시소자를 제안한다. 제작된 반사형 액정표시소자는 30:1의 고명암비를 나타냈으며, 응답속도는 수직전압 8 V, fringe 전압 12 V의 구동 전압으로 각각 쓰기 응답시간이 950 ms, 리셋 응답시간이 450 ms였다. 또한 제안된 셀은 +C 광학 보상 필름을 사용하여 좌우 방향에서 $180^{\circ}$의 광시야각을 나타냈다. Bistable chiral splay nematic liquid crystal display (BCSN LCD) is a memory type liquid crystal display using splay and $-\pi$ twist states as two stable states. When the cell thickness to pitch (d/p) ratio is 0.25, splay and $-\pi$ twist states have permanent memory time. However, when the transition from $-\pi$ twist state to splay state is caused by a fringe field, pixel regions show that the splay state is not perfect, but rather includes a contribution from the $-\pi$ twist state. In this paper, we propose a reflective BCSN LCD using $-\pi$ twist state in which the two stable states do not coexist. The fabricated reflective BCSN LC cell shows a high contrast ratio of over 30:1 and response times of 950 ms and 450 ms in vertical and fringe field switching, respectively. The proposed cell also shows wide viewing angle characteristics of $180^{\circ}$ in left- and right directions.

N/A Background/Aims: In research field, a depancreatized animal model is used for the study of diabetes, evaluation of the proper effect of pancreas on systemic organs, and pancreas/islet transplantation. Owing to the diffuse nature of rat pancreas, complete removal is difficult. Total pancreatectomy has been carried out with success by Foglia and Scow, which is serious and uncertain in its results. It should bring about rapid death of the animal in the absence of supplementary treatment. In the conventional rubbing technique using cotton-tipped applicators, the most serious complication was gastric distention. A new experimental model of surgical diabetes with total pancreatectomy was devised, which used classic surgical procedure and overcomed the complication of gastric distention. Methods: Two groups of Sprague Dawley rats weighing 250 to 300 g were studied: group 1, conventional technique of Scow-20 rats; group 2, new technique-20 rats. In group 2, two weeks before pancreatectomy side-to-side antiperistaltic gastrojejunostomy and ligation of pyloric ring were performed to prevent postoperative gastric distention. We compared operative mortality, complications, blood glucose levels, and survival period between two groups. The Chi-Square test was used to determine the statistical significance of differences. Results: Our model of total pancreatectomy results in less coplications and mortality rate(group 1:7/20; group 2:2/20), and longer median survival period than Scows technique (group 1:5 days; group 2:15 days) and diabetes is produced in both group. Conclusions: We believe that the procedure described here is an improvement, as it produces surgical diabetes safely. (Korean J Gastroenterol 1996; 28:549 - 555)
