Silicosis is a chronic diffuse interstitial fibronodular lung disease caused by long-term inhalation of dust containing free crystalline silica. Silicosis does not occur by trivial exposure but requires long-term inhalation of high dose of silica. We experienced two cases of Silicosis. According to the examination of the medical records of the two cases including their symptom, exposure duration, International Labour Office (ILO) 1980 Classification and Pulmonary Function Test (PFT), the patient in the first case had coughing with sputum, 15-year long exposure, Category A, Forced Vital Capacity (FVC) 69% and Forced Expiratory Volume for 1 second (FEV1) 69%, and the patient in the second case had no symptom, 2-year long exposure, Category B, FVC 96% and FEV1 77%.
생산직 근로자들에서 개인 환경과 직무 스트레스가 수면문제발생에 미치는 영향

Objectives : The purpose of this study was to look into how job stress and life-style factors influence sleep problems in blue-collar workers. Methods- This research was conducted among 760 blue-collar workers. The job stress was proposed by Karasek,etc, and measured by modified questions. Sleep problems were categorized into insomnia, sleep deprivation, daytime sleepiness and snoring on the basis of the factor analysis 11-item questions. The statistical analysis was conducted using chi-square test and multiple logistic regression analysis. Results: By chi-square test,insomnia showed a significant increase in age (p<0.01) and shift work (p<0.01>. Sleep deprivation showed a significant increase in age (p<0.01 乂 snoring showed a significant increase in body mass index (p<0,01). By multiple logistic regression analysis,insomnia showed a significant increase in age (odds ratio- fifties 1/73) and shift work (odds ratio 2.20), Sleep deprivation showed a significant increase in age (odds ratio- fifties 1,98乂 Snoring showed a significant increase in body mass index (odds ratio- obesity 2,24), Conclusion: This study showed that many blue-collar workers perceived sleep problems as critical. We concluded that age,shift work and body mass index seemed to be an important risk factors for sleep problems.

산화철의 제조에는 기존의 습식화학제조법과 건식화학제조법이 있는데, 모두 환경에 영향을 미치는 화학물질을 대량으로 사용하여 산화철을 제조하는 기술이다. 본 기술보고에서는 환경친화적 제조법으로 스크랩을 원료로 박테리아를 이용하여 산화철을 제조하는 생화학적 기술과 자전고온합성법을 이용하여 산화철을 제조하는 신개념의 산화철제조 기술을 소개하였다. For the manufacture of iron oxide, the hydro-process and the pyre-process are conventionally used. Both processes use a huge amount of chemicals in reaction which affect the environment harmfully. This paper introduced the new environment friendly processes; the bio-chemical process and the self propagating high temperature synthesis process.

철강압연공장에서 산세공정중 발생하는 산화철의 색상을 개선하기 위하여 배소로 조업과 색상혼합공정을 연구하였다. 배소로 조업에서는 조업온도, 폐산장입량, 폐산분사 노즐수에 대하여 검토하였으며, 색상혼합공정에서는 산화티탄, 실리카, 괴타이트를 색상혼합재로 검토하였다. 배소로 조업에서는 조업온도를 낮게 할수록 산화철의 명도가 개선되었으며, 색상혼합공정에서는 괴타이트 첨가 경우에 제일 많이 산화철의 적색 및 명도가 개선되었다. In this study, to improve the color of iron oxide from waste pickling acid at the cold rolling mill, the quality control technologies especially about color were investigated on the spray roaster and iron oxide powder. At the operation condition of the spray roaster, the charge amount of waste acid per hour, temperature, numbers of spray nozzle were investigated. At admixing process, titanium oxide, silica, goethite were tested. Color character of iron oxide can be improved by process control at spray roaster and by admixing process at a pigment factory Iron oxide from results of this study is enough to use as the colorant of concrete product.

철강산세작업중 발생하는 폐산세용액의 재활용중 산화철이 부산물로 생산되고 있다. 이 산화철은 안료 및 훼라이트원료로 사용되고 있다. 훼라이트원료로 사용되는 산화철은 불순물을 엄격히 제한하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 산화철의 주요 불순물인 실리카 및 기타성분을 제거하기 위하여 폐산세용액에서 여과법, 흡착매체법, Fe leaching, 중화법 등 여러 가지 제거방법으로 불순물제거 실험을 하여, 각 방법의 효과를 고찰하였다. The regeneration of wastc piddlng acid from ironmaking industry produces Iron oxides as by products which are used for pigments and raw matcrial of ferrite. Thc impurilies level of iron axides for ferrile arc strictly regalated. Filtrat~on, adsorption medw technique, Fe leaching and ncutralizaiion wcre tried in order to remove silica impurities in the wasb pickling acid solution.
