        수평 매복 상악 견치의 교정적 견인 치험례

        Maxillary canine is one of the most frequently impacted teeth after third molar. This case report presents two patients with horizontal impacted maxillary canines treated by orthodontic traction. A 10-year old boy presented with a chief complaint of the impacted maxillary left canine and a 9-year old boy was referred with bilateral impacted maxillary canines. Impacted canines of both patients showed labially directed horizontal angulation. Impacted canines were treated and aligned by twice sequential surgical exposures. After treatment, both cases showed favorable aligning and root parallelism of the impacted canine.

        The connection system of steel pile and RC footing is an important structure because the total load of upper construction should be transferred through the joint construction of different two materials-steel and RC-with strongly changed section area. Although many connection systems have been developed. their structural and economical efficiency and workability are often insufficient. Therefore, a new connecting system was developed to improve the above mentioned problems of current systems. The divided arc plate could improve the workability and economical efficiency, structural efficiency could be reached by welding. The main purpose of the research is to evaluate the structural behavior of the new designed connection system through experiments.

      • PAN Unit의 단일중합체와 공중합체에서의 배향에 관한 연구

        Polyacrylonitrile(PAN) is a well-known crystalline polymer. Even when PAN is in its atactic configuration, as is usual, the crystallinity still strongly persists. This is due to the strong interaction between the nitrile groups. Hence much interest has been focused on the elucidation of the conformation of PAN. However, a full agreement on the crystalline morphology and the conformational state of individual polymer chains is yet to be achieved. In this study, we used as samples a PAN homopolymer and an AN-methyl acrylate(MA) copolymer. In the latter, MA is considered as a way of introducing a slight structural perturbation to the AN sequence in the homopolymer. Then the infrared dichroism technique was used to follow the behavior of orientation as a function of the extension. In carrying out these experiments, detailed considerations on the conformational structure of the PAN chains were given on the molecular basis. As a result, we found that the orientation behavior of the unperturbed AN sequences was more sensitive to the extension and its linearity of the chains was higher than the perturbed counterpart, in good agreement with the conjecture on the molecular level.

        3차 의료기관 응급센터로 내원한 아나필락시스 환자

        Background: Anaphylaxis is a systematic allergic reaction, which may be fatal. However, despite its seriousness, its low level of incidence has prevented in depth studies. Thus, we analyzed the causes of anaphylactic shock in patients admitted in a tertiary hospital, observed its clinical symptoms, and formed a basis for adequate emergency treatment, as well preventive methods. Methods: The patients who visited Ajou university hospitals from June 1994 to May 2000(7 years) and who met the 1974 JAMA definition were selected for this retrospective study. The analysis of causative agents was made on the basis of clinical symptoms and the patients' chief complaints at the time of admission. Patients diagnosed with anaphylactic shock included those showing at least two types of IgE-mediated symptoms; and those with a simple rash or breathing difficulties were excluded from the study. Results: Of 36 patients, 22 were male and 14 female, Those below the age of 20 comprised 16.7% of the patients(6 patients), between 20 and 29 comprised 16.7%(6 patients), 30 and 39 comprised 25%(9 patients), 40 and 49 comprised 27.8%(10 patients), over 50 comprised 14%(5 patients). The overall percentage show 70% of the patients in active adult age group. Rash was the most common clinical symptoms(89%, 32 patients) and hypotension the second(75%, 27 patients), followed by respiratory distress, fainting, and arrhythmia. Causative agents were insect bites, including bee stings(15 patients), medication(12 patients), food(8 patients), and unknown(1 patients). Nine(9) of the 36 case, were diagnosed as having an atopic origin. Conclusion: Bee sting was the single most common cause in the insect criteria while penicillin & NSAIDs accounted for most of medication-induced cases. Food showed a varied distribution. An atopic origin was not a basis for anaphylactic shock, but did show a two-fold increase of prevalence. This study is the first of its kind in addressing anaphylactic shock, a potentially severe illness, over a period of 7 years.

        과학문명의 발전과 더불어 의료기기의 발전 추세는 한 가지 주요 기능 외에 부가적 기능을 겸비하는 다목적인 형태로 발전하고 있다. 이러한 다기능의료기기의 경우 부가기능이 주요 기능의 안전성에 위해를 가할 수 있으며, 또한 동작원리가 서로 다른 의료기기가 준합되어 사용되는 경우에는 전기적인 결합에 의한 간섭 등에 의하여 전기적인 위해의 요소가 증가할 수 있다. 파라서 본 연구에서는 대표적인 다기능 의료기기인 의료용 마취기를 중심으로, 제조사별 제품의 특성과 국제규격과의 조화를 고려하여 안전성 평가를 위한 기술규격을 개발하고자 한다. 또한 개발 확림된 의료용 마취71의 개별기준규격을 고시화하여, 페품의 안전성확보에 관한 기준규격으로의 유웅한 정보제공과 아울러 국제규격과 조화를 이룬 국내 제품의 개발 가능성을 극대화할 것으로 기대된다. Tissue Engineering is a very promising field in biomedical research and development. Guidance of tissue engineered medical devices(TEMDs) is very important for the patients' safety and national welfare. Most of TEMDs consist of natural and/or biomedical polymers and polymer- cell/tissue component mixture. Some TEMDs like artificial skin and cartilage are in the stage of commercialization, however, the evaluation standards and testing methods are not prepared yet. In this study, we have developed a guidance for the function, biocompatibility and safety tests of tissue-engineered cartilage. The guidance contains the essential checking ponits in the development process of TEMDs, which are as follow ; 1) cell or tissue origin 2) cell or tissue characteristics 3) biomaterial test 4) quality assurance 5) quality control 6) non-clinical evaluation 7) clinical evaluation. TEMDs were divided into two categories according to the cell origin. The first category contains the devices used for repair and reconstruction of structural function of impaired tissues. The other category contains the systemic devices with physiological and pharmacological activity. Generally, the guideline for function and safety of TEMDs would be focused on the long-term implants. We believe that adoption of thes guidance of tissue-engineered cartilage sould lead to the products consistent in quality and performance as well as safety.
