This study is based on the fact that school education systems now have faced with many problems and the belief that the work oriented education can help children to lead their own life by themselves. The purpose of this study is to understand the work oriented education to amore advanced degree, to compare and analyse the practical arts education with alternative education, and to propose the direction of mutual complement at the work oriented education in practical arts education and an alternative education. Various informations such as articles and books are gathered, classified, and interpreted for the purpose. The work oriented education is a method of education, which includes handicraft activity or physical activities combined with mental activities, which has been spotlighted by educators since the early 19th century. The practical arts education is a basic cultural subject for 5th and 6th grade students in elementary schools. The work oriented education is based on philosophy of the practical arts education and the way of the practical arts education. Also, an alternative education is the movement which points out, criticizes, and copes with the present school system problems and includes work oriented education as an important activity. Considering all the results, the work oriented education has the value, which is “the development of meaningful learning” and “the combine of various sides of life”. The work oriented education is a part of the practical arts education and the alternative education, so the practical arts education and the alternative education must develop each other in mutual complement.

New malting barley variety “Doo San #12 was developed from the cross “Tai Chung 2 rowed barley #1×Deba abed” made in 1972 at Sacheon Malting Barley Experiment Station. Doo San Farms Co. Ltd. This variety was determinded to recommend to the all malting barley production areas in southern part of Korea. This variety is lodging registance in short culm, high tillering, good quality and high yielding variety.

New malting barley variety “Doosan # 22” is a semidwarf, early maturity, good quality, high tillering and high yielding variety. This variety was developed from the cross “Seijo# 17×New Golden Melon” in 1974 at Sacheon Malting Barley Experiment Station, Doosan Farm’s Co. This variety was determined to recommend to the all malting barley production areas in southern part of Korea from 1985.
