N/A Objective : The endometrial cancer can be divided into two large groups on the base of carcinogenesis according to the pathologic findings. The hormone induced cancer group(type 1) represents the cancers developed under the effects of unopposed estrogen. And the other group(type 2) can be developed by the mechanisms of divergent variable events such as mutations or gene deletions. These two different types show definite differences in clinical characteristics. Methods : Clinical features of the 43 patients who were diagnosed and were treated as endometrial cancer in Gynecologic department of Ajou University Hospital from June 1994 to November 2000 were evaluated according to the pathologic findings. 22 patients of type 1 and 17 patients of type 2 were classified and analysed statistically. Results : Age, cell types, grade, cancer stage, endometrial thickness, invasion depth of uterine walls were definitely different with statistic significance. The lymphovascular space invasion, the number of lymph node metastasis, pap smear of cervix, adnexal involvement, diabetes, hypertension, CA125, gravida, height were not different between two groups statistically in correlations. BMI shown marked difference but had no statistical significance. Conclusion : The classification of endometrial cancer into the two types is very significant because it can allow avoidance of preceding risk factors and can provide the alteration of treatment tendency and the expectation of benign or malignant prognosis, clinically.
골격근 질환에 적용한 Acetic acid 이온도입의 효과

Purpose:The purpose of this study was to assess the effects of acetic acid iontophoresis on pain and muscle activity of muscularl pain of the upper trapezius muscle. Method: Twenty subjects(M=8, F=12) with myofascial pain of the upper trapezius were randomized into 1 of 2groups. Physiotherapy plus acetic acid(5%) iontophoresis(2㎃, 15minutes) for the treatment group(n=10), and only physiotherapy for control group(n=10). Physiotherapy and iontophoresis 2~3 times a week during 4 weeks (10 sessions). Pain level measured visual analogue scale(VAS) and pain threshold with algometer. Trapezius muscle activity recorded using surface electromyography(EMG). Results: After treatment, VAS was significantly decreased in both groups. Pain threshold was significantly increased after physiotherapy plus iontophoresis treatment group. Only physiotherapy treatment group increased pain threshold but not significantly. Muscle activity was significantly increased after physiotherapy plus iontophoresis treatment compared to before it. Conclusion: The result of this study showed that acetic acid iontophoresis was effect on reduction of pain and facilitation of muscle activity with muscular pain.
키네시오 테이핑 방법이 만성 뇌졸중 환자의 발목관절 근긴장도, 균형 능력 및 관절가동범위에 미치는 영향

PURPOSE: This study examined whether ankle joint stabilizing taping and muscle control taping influenced the ankle range of motion (ROM), muscle tone, and balance ability in chronic stroke patients. METHODS: Ten stroke patients were assigned randomly to experimental group 1 (joint stabilization taping n = 5) and experimental group 2 (Muscle control taping n = 5). After general physical therapy in both groups, ankle stabilization taping was applied to experimental group 1, and muscle control taping was applied to experimental group 2 three times a week for a total of six weeks (18 times). RESULTS: The muscle tone and stiffness of the gastrocnemius (GCM) showed significant differences between the experimental 1 and experimental 2 groups (p < .05). The Berg Balance Scale (BBS) and ROM also showed significant differences within the experimental 1 and experimental 2 groups (p < .05). The BBS and ROM also showed no significant differences between the experimental 1 and experimental 2 groups (p > .05). CONCLUSION: This study examined the muscle tone, balance, and ROM on the paraplegic side of stroke patients using kinesio taping, and the effect of the taping application method was confirmed from the preceding study. Therefore, it can decrease the paralysis side muscle tone and improve the ROM and balance ability.
X-Ray Triple Crystal Diffraction Spectrometer의 제작과 그 응용

고분해도의 X-선 산란을 위해 두 실험 방법이 개발됐다. 그 방법들은 (1) 2-결정 회절 스펙트로메터 (DCD)설치와 (2) 3-결정 회절 스펙트로메터 (TCD) 설치였다. Si(511)-시료(hkl)의 DCD배열로 Si(333), Si(004), GaAs(004)의 rocking curve를 그렸다. 또한 단일체 단색 평행기와 $K_{\alpha1}$ 선택기를 포함하는 Si(111)-Si(111)-Si(511)-sample(hkl)의 TCD배열로 Si(333), Si(004) 그리고 GaAs(004)의 rocking curve를 그렸다. DCD와 TCD에 의한 rocking curve의 FWHM의 차이가 논의됐다. DCD에 의한 $In_{0.037}Ga_{0.0963}As/GaAs$의 (004) 및 (115) 반사 토포그라프가 행해졌다. Two experimental methods have been developed for high resolution measurement of x-ray scattering. The methods used were (1) an x-ray double crystal diffraction (DCD) spectrometer set-up and (2) an x-ray triple crystal diffraction (TCD) spectrometer set-up. With the DCD arrangement of Si(511)-sample(hkl), rocking curves have been plotted for Si (333), Si(004) and GaAs(004). Also, with the TCD arrangement of Si(111)-Si(111)-Si(511)-sample(hkl) including monolithic monocro-collimator and $K_{\alpha1}$ selector, rocking curves have been plotted for Si(333), Si(004) and GaAs(004). The results of FWHM by DCD and TCD set-up have been compared each other and discussed. The reflection topographs (004) and (115) in an $In_{0.037}Ga_{0.0963}As/GaAs$ sample have been obtained by DCD set-up.

Purpose : The purpose of this study is to have examined the influence on the blood circulation by comparing the differences between stimulating the sympathetic ganglion and the muscle group among the stimulation variables in interferential current stimulation and to have found out the most effective stimulating mode for the improvement the peripheral blood circulation in the interferential current stimulation. Method : The subjects of the study is the men and women in the twenties, who are in great condition and have no pathological report for the blood circulation influence. The intensity of the inferential current stimulation is the medium degree, 100 bps constant current, which is the comfort and overt degree to confirm the muscle contraction. The areas stimulated by the interferential current stimulation are the stellate ganglion area in the seventh cervical vertebrae and the forearm muscle area. The stimulating time is twenty minutes long. After stimulating the two areas, the change of the blood circulation has been measured. Results : Both stimulating the sympathetic ganglion and stimulating the muscle, before and after interferential current stimulation, we have seen that the amount of blood circulation was increased significantly and statistically in both two groups(p<.01) and that the amount of blood circulation was increased significantly and statistically in the case of stimulating the sympathetic ganglion(p<.01). Conclusion : The conclusion we received that inferential current stimulation had the clear influence on increasing the peripheral blood circulation. And stimulating the sympathetic ganglion area is more effective than stimulating muscle area directly.

This study is to identify factors affecting public relations(PR) activities through newspapers among hospitals. 53 acute hospitals with more than 500 beds were surveyed by telephone interview, and hospital-related articles on 4 major daily newspapers were searched in KINDS(Korea Intergrated Newspapers Database System). Hospitals` PR scores were evaluated by weighting the direction and the number of hospitals mentioned in an articles. The scores were analysed as the outcome of PR activities by some general characteristics. The mean of PR score was 4.64, most hospitals(22, 41.5%) fell on the group scored more than 0 and less than 5. Hospitals with score under zero were 7(13.2%) and the hospitals scored over 20 point were 3(5.8%). The number of beds and area, two general characteristics of hospitals, had decisive effect on PR activities. Analysis showed hospitals over 1000 beds scored 17.06 point and this group accounted for the highest. Hospitals from 600 to 799 beds scored 2.86, with 800 to 900 beds scored 1.93 and with 500 to 599 beds scored 0.59. Along with area, hospitals in Seoul scored 11.50 point, in Kyong-Ki and Incheon scored 1.50 and in the other areas scored -0.23 point. Department for PR and the number of workers in PR activities made hospitals active in PR. Hospitals with PR department scored 7.05 point, without PR department scored 0.98 Hospitals with workers who is whole responsibility over 5 scored 13.67, from 3 to 4 scored 6.54, from 1 to 2 scored 1.02, and the hospitals without workers who is whole responsibility scored 0.53. Among the characteristics related with PR activities, the assignment of a report in individual hospital had significant effect on the outcome of PR. Hospitals with assigned reporters scored 8.31 point, without them scored 1.89. Finally, the factors affecting PR score were identified by multiple regression analysis. The number of beds and the area(Seoul) were significantly associated with the score in positive direction.

The intensity of the inferential current stimulation is the medium degree, 100 bps constant current, which is the comfort and degree to confirm the muscle contraction. The areas stimulated are the stellate ganglion area in the seventh cervical vertebrae and the forearm muscle area. Results: We have made sure that there is no change in blood pressure and pulse and that the change in the skin temperature occurred highly. Conclusion: In considering the change of the blood circulation in case of stimulation area by the inferential current stimulation, we have seen that stimulating the sympathetic ganglion area is more effective than stimulating muscle area directly.
