The generation, verification and validation of Emergency Procedures for Nuclear Power Plant is a difficult and complex process. Atomic Energy Control Board(AECB) requires that emergency procedure and plan be produced before obtaining the Operating License, that is, detailed plans and procedures to handle emergency situations for both on-site actions and off-site actions be developed. In this report Emergency Operating Procedures Standard for Canadian Nuclear Utilities which makes reference to U. S. practices and the current direction of emergency procedures for CAN-DU reactors are reviewed and compared based on scope(events covered), methodology (event-oriented or symptom-oriented or hybrid) and format(method of presentation) preponderantly, and an attempt is made to integrate these procedures and as a result the recommended strategy for Wolsong unit 2, 3, & 4 is presented as event-specific procedures, generic procedures(when event is not diagnosed) and whose format is combination of logic diagram and text.

There are different kinds of methods in coloring process of vehicles. The electro-deposition process has excellent coating performance, it causes deformation of a vehicles hood in the processing. The predict the deformation of vehicle’s hood in electro-deposition process, analysis is required about the painting system. The reason the hood of vehicle is deformed in the electro-deposition process is fluid pressure such as paint. Therefore, CFD simulation was used for analyzing the distribution pressure imposed on vehicles in the painting process. In the present study, electro-deposition pool and vehicle’s movement were considered in order to predict the characteristics of pressure distribution of the vehicles hood, ASI method and VOF method were used for the movement of the vehicle and interface tracking. The numerical results derived, from the numerical method had a good agreement with the experimental data. The results of present study can be provided as useful information for prevention of deformation in the electro-deposition painting process.

Dynamic characteristics of pantograph-catenary system that supplies electrical power to high-speed trains are investigated. A simple catenary is composed of the contact and messenger wires connected by hamgers possessing bi-directional stiffness properties. The influences of parameters that determine the contact properties of pantograph - catenary system are investigated through numerical simulations. For the catenary, a finite difference model composed of 10 spans is constructed. The contact and messenger wires are modeled as strings with respective tension and damping ratio values. The pantograph is modeled as a linear 3-degree-of-freedom system. It is found that the tension, number of hangers and damping ratios as well as the speed of the train significantly influence the contact forces and contact separation rate.

To improve the efficiency of heat transfer in cooling and heating systems, an efficient distribution of refrigerant is required. Especially, the performance of heat exchanger with the two-phase refrigerant is closely related with the splitting characteristics of refrigerant. In the present study, the splitting characteristic of two-phase refrigerant inside a distributor was numerically predicted by using an Eulerian method. For the prediction of pressure drop in several downstream tubes, the pressure boundary conditions based on the Lockhart and Martinelli method was applied to the outlet boundary of numerical model. With these numerical methodologies, splitting characteristic of two-phase refrigerant was predicted for various conditions. In this way, numerical results were in good agreement with experimental data. From the results, it was observed that the splitting characteristics of two-phase refrigerant are determined by the geometric factors of distributor. With the numerical results of splitting characteristics in the distributor with various geometric parameters, the optimized geometry of distributor was obtained for the uniform split of refrigerant.
