WCC 세계교회 연합 운동과 한국교회 에큐메니칼 운동의 역사와 평가

19세기 후반부터 싹트기 시작한 교회연합 운동을 세계교회협의회를 중심으로 살펴보려고 하는 목적으로 이 글은 씌어졌다. 이론이나 이슈를 중심으로 연합 운동을 기술하지 않고 순전히 나의 근 50년간의 체험과 느낌을 중심으로 서술했음을 밝혀둔다. 애초부터 이렇게 해달라는 편집위원장님의 의도도 있었지만 신학을 전공하지도 않은 평신도 입장에서 에큐메니칼 운동에 참여한 나에게는 당연한 한계였다. 어찌 보면 이런 평탄한 글이 독자에게는 오히려 부담이 없으리라는 위로를 스스로 하고 있음도 사실이다. 무엇이 WCC의 연합 운동을 튼튼하게 했을까 그리고 하고 있는가 하는 점에 대해서는 나는 대강 다섯 가지의 쟁점을 언급했음을 밝혀둔다. 첫째가 다양성을 인정하는 데에서 출발한다는 점이다. 전 세계의 350여 개교단의 그 많은 전통과 예배 양식을 다 인정하면서 정의, 평화, 창조질서의 보존이라는 신앙고백을 이 세상에서 실천하는데 총력을 기울이고 있기에 강렬한 연합 운동을 할 수 있다는데 초점을 맞추고 한국 연합 운동도 이것을 시금석으로 삼았으면 한다는 뜻이다. 이 다양성의 인정이 모든 결의를 수행해 나가는데 투표보다 만장일치의 합의점 도출에 의거하는 의사 결정과정에서 실천되고 있다고 보았다. 유엔을 비롯한 모든 국제기구들이 꼭 투표로 결정해야 할 사안을 제외하고는 이 과정을 선호하고 있다는 사실이다. 둘째는 1948년 공식 창설 이전에 많은 연합 운동이 차근차근 뭉쳐서 창립에 힘을 실었기에 연합 운동이 공고하게 되었다고 보았다. 즉, 신앙과 직제 운동, 선교대회, 교회와 사회 운동 그리고 기독교교육 운동의 역사를 살펴보았다. 셋째는 정의, 평화, 창조질서의 보존이라는 큰 담론 속에서 세분화되고 구체적인 나라 또는 지역을 중심으로 프로그램을 추진했기에 성공했다고 보았다. 남아프리카의 인종차별정책, 미완이지만 한반도 동북아 평화운동, 미얀마의 민주화 운동, 아프리카의 빈곤 문제 등등 말이다. 이런 이슈가 계속 WCC에 의해서 실행되면서 모금 문제가 해결되었다는 교훈을 서술했다. 넷째는 에큐메니칼 보트의 선장이 아주 중요하기에 포터 총무를 살펴보았다. 마지막은 여성 청년 평신도들이 얼마나 중요한 역할을 하는지 보았다. 목회자들과 똑 같이 중요하다는 사실 말이다. 한국 연합 운동에 대한 평가는 잘 모르면서 서술했음을 독자들이 이해해주기 바란다. 평신도의 입장에서 다듬어지지 않았음을 밝혀둔다. Ecumenical History with the World Council of Churches, could be traced from 19 Century’s record. Even if the official inauguration of WCC in Amsterdam in 1948 is very much welcome, it is worthwhile to reflect those prehistory which has been strengthening the unity of churches afterward. Therefore we are reminded the fact that the initial movement toward Church Unity started from the before or the after of 1895 when WSCF establishment was announced all over the world. We all know, 1910 World Mission Conference in Edinburgh strongly motⅣated world churches toward Ecumene. After this event, 1937 western Church leaders had gathered and declared “The League of Churches like League of Nation” are very much important. Unfortunately, this recommendations were not realized due to unexpected circumstances, so that, as a result, the establishment of WCC had to be postponed against this recommendation, due to World War 2 brought about by Adolf Hitler, Germany in 1939. Important roles played by four Major Ecumenical Movements which have been main Pillars for the WCC’s traditional strong Ecumenical Unity, namely, World Mission Conferences, World Conferences on Faith and Order, World Conferences on Life and Work, and World Council of Christian Education(WCCE) Conferences, which joined in 1966, are identified. Along with those official church delegations, there has been a strong leadership played for the formation of WCC from Christian Youth movements, such as YMCA, YWCA, and WSCF, as well as lay movement. Among various important leaderships around 100 years long of WCC history, Phillip Potter and Ⅵsser’t Hooft have been only chosen and highlighted. There has been a certain limitation of my writings on Korean Ecumenical movements, because I am lay person. However, I hope very much, readers will understand these limitations. In this paper, deal with structural design under low wind speed conditions calculated by computational fluid dynamics for a small blade that is utilized in dual rotor wind turbine system. For this purpose, the authors checked the turbine system condition such as airfoil camber, number of blade, incidence angle to have effect on system output power. Through the analysis of the flow pattern around blade, the suggested blade condition and incidence angle was effective to improve under low wind speed. and verification of Dual Blade shapes using the computational fluid dynamics software

This paper attempts to examine cultural essentialism and cultural hybridism regarding Native Americans’ cultural identity in Linda Hogan’s Power and Leslie Marmon Silko’s Ceremony. The two novels have a common feature that the Omishto in Power and Tayo in Ceremony seek their identity respectively during the journeys of their lives, but Omishto is inclined to cultural essentialism and Tayo cultural hybridism. To be concrete, it examines assimilationism in assimilation policy and resistance against it in two novels. And then it analyzes cultural nationalism through the relation between Omishto and Ama Eaton in Power, and examines cultural hybridism through medicine man Betonie’s story telling in Ceremony.

찻잎의 수확시기를 달리하여 제조한 돈차(錢茶)의 관능적 특성과 화학성분

한국 전통차인 돈차의 복원과 보급을 위한 기초자료를 확보하기 위하여 찻잎을 4월 28일, 6월 15일 및 8월 20일에 각각 수확하여 제조한 돈차를 5개월간 숙성시킨 뒤 추출물의 맛과 화학성분함량을 조사하였다. 돈차 맛은 4월 28일, 6월 15일 및 8월 20일에 수확한 것 순으로 높게 평가되었다. 색도는 찻잎의 수확시기에 따른 차이가 거의 없었다. 무기물 함량은 K>Mg>P 순으로 많았는데, 8월 20일에 수확한 것에서 K는 8.93, Mg는 0.54 및 P는 0.47 mg/100 mL로 많았다. 총 카테킨 함량은 4월 28일, 6월 15일 및 8월 20일에 수확한 것에서 각각 41.90, 40.28 및 39.33 mg/100 mL로 많았다. 총 페놀화합물은 6월 15일에 수확한 것에서 85.85 mg/100 mL로 가장 많았다. 결론적으로 좋은 돈차를 생산하기 위해서는 찻잎을 조기 수확하는 것이 바람직한 것으로 나타났다. This study was conducted to investigate the basic traits for the restoration and extension of a Korean traditional tea Doncha (coin-shaped) utilization. Tea leaves have harvested at different time, on April 28, June 15, and August 20, manufactured for Doncha tea, and after-fermented for 5 months. Taste and contents of chemical composition were examined during the procedures. The taste of Doncha was evaluated with best values when harvested on April 28, and followed by June 15 and August 20. No significant difference in color degrees of tea extracts among the harvesting time was observed. Ca, Mg and Mn showed the highest content in the sample harvested on August 20. Total catechin contents in tea leaves harvested on April 28, June 15, and August 20, were 41.90, 40.28 and 39.33 mg/100 mL, respectively, showing gradually decreasing with later harvesting time. Total phenolic content in Doncha extracts harvested on June 15 was the greatest by 85.85 mg/100 mL. In conclusion, leaf harvest at earlier time would be better for Doncha production with high quality.

오웰의 정치적 체험과 산문 : 제국주의에 대한 정신적 통찰과 도덕적 딜레마

This paper aims at examining imperialism and Orwell’s moral dilemma in “A Hanging”and “Shooting an Elephant.” First, the paper points out that “A Hanging” is a document in which Orwell exposes the hollowness and evil of imperialism as a dissenting insider. An narrator sees a native hanged in a prison, realizes the mystery, the unspeakable wrongness, of cutting a life and gets emotional insight of detesting British Imperialism. Therefore it examines the moment of realization and epiphany Orwell felt through the process of hanging. Second, the paper discloses that “Shooting an Elephant”is also a record of a moment of sudden insight which means the futility of the white man’s dominion in the East. The essay dramatizes the real nature of imperialism, which is, that the wielder of tyrannical power is himself enslaved and brutalized in the process. Therefore the paper argues that experiencing conflict between hatred of colonialism and hatred of the colonized, Orwell illustrates a moral dilemma.
