        소에 있어서 이식 수정란의 생존성에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구

        This experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of the number of embryos transferred, state (fresh or frozen), developmental stage of embryos and donor-recipient synchrony on pregnancy rate and embryonic loss in cattle. The animals used in this experiment were 95 heads of Korean native cattle, Holstein and crossbred. The results obtained in this experiment are as follows; 1. Fourty six out of 95 recipients (48.4%) were pregnant and embryo mortality rate (EMR) was 23.2%. 2. The pregnancy rate was higher when an embryo was transferred additionally on day 7after the AI on estrus (59.1%) than when one (45.6%) or two (40.0%) embryos were transferred. However, EMR was also higher when an embryo transferred additionally than the other groups. 3. The pregnancy rate of cows transferred fresh embryo was higher (56.0% vs 45.7%) and EMR of fresh embryo transferred cows was lower (20.0% vs 24.3%) compared with those of cows transferred frozen-thawed embryo. 4. The pregnancy rate was slightly higher (50.0% vs 48.1%) when the embryo of blastocyst stage was transferred than when the embryo of morals stage. However, EMR was slightly lower in the cows transferred morals stage embryo (22.8% vs 25.0%). 5. The pregnancy rate when the donors showed estrus 12 hours earlier than the recipients (76.9%) was higher than when the donors and recipients showed estrus at the same time (45.5%) or when the donors showed estrus 12 hours later than the recipients (37.5%). Similar trends were also noted in EMR.

        소에 있어서 비외과적 채란 및 이식에 관한 연구

        These experiments were conducted to investigate the effects of hormone treatment, serum total cholesterol (T-CHO) levels and flushing site on ova recovery and transfer method on pregnancy rate in cattle. The best number of ova recovered among PMSG treatments was showed in PMSG 3000IU + PGF₂α 25㎎ and the number of ova recovered and recovery rate of FSH were more than those of PMSG. In serum T-CHO levels, the case of more than 150㎎/100㎖ in superovulated cattle showed higher than those of below 150㎎/100㎖ in ova recovery. The recovery rate of uterine body was slightly better than that of each uterine horn. Cleavage stage of ova recovered on 7 to 8 days following estrus were mostly morulae and blastocysts and the average normal rate of ova recovered was 78.7%. The mean length of the cycle preceeding PMSG and FSH treatment were 52.38±20.90 and 23.83±13.26 days, respectively. When PGF₂α was administrated after flushing, the day of interval from the induced estrus to spontaneous estrus tended to shorten. The pregnancy rate in single, A1 + single and twin was 22.0, 35.7 and 35.6%, respectively.

        소에 있어서 다배란 유기에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구

        These experiment were conducted to investigate the effects of the kinds and dosages of gonadotropins, breed, parity, body weight, season, milk yield and serum total cholesterol (T-CHO) levels on ovarian responses in superovulated cattle. The number of follicles and corpus luteum (CL) per head in superovulated cattle were 6.6±080 and 4.8±0.72. Superovulation with FSH resulted in ovarian response more than that of PMSG and the best ovarian response in parity, body weight and season was showed in heifer, 350-450㎏ and autumn, respectively. In the calving-superovulation interval, below 5 month was showed poor ovarian response. In the lactating dairy cows, the best ovarian response was showed in below 15㎏/day of milk yield and decreased as milk yield increased. In the serum T-CHO levels, the best result was obtained from more than 150㎎/100㎖ and the ovarian response increased as the serum T-CHO levels increased.

        한우와 샤로레교잡에 의한 신종한우육성 연구 1 . 농가사육상태하에서의 한우와 샤로레교잡종의 발육및 번식능력 비교

        This experiment was carried out to compare the growth rates and reproductive traits between Korean native cattle and Charolais crossbreeds. The results obtained were summarized as follows: The body weight of Charolais crossbreed (CK) was 41, 39, 44, 29% heavier at the age of 3, 6, 12 and 18 months than that of Korean native cattle(K) on the farm performance and was 26, 47, 58, 51% heavier on the station performance test(S.P.T). In the Charolais back-crossbreed (CCK) was S5, 44, 46, 40% heavier on the farm performance and 50, 49, 69, 55% on S.P.T. Body measurement of the crossbreeds was taller, wider and longer than that of K. Age and body weight at puberty of the crossbreeds was earlier and heavier than that of K. The type of parturition of Charolais crossbreeds was 92.6% in normal and 7.4% in abnormal in CK, and 94%, 6,0% in CCK, respectively.

        육돈생산을 위한 우량교배조합 선발시험

        The results of a crossbreeding experiment with a total of 315 pigs of Berkshires, Hampshires, Durocs, Landraces, Large Whites, seven different twobreed crosses and twelve different three-breed crosses, produced at Livestock Experiment Station from 1975 through 1979, are summarized as follows. 1. The three-breed cross from D♂×(H♂×L♀) F₁♀ mating had the highest average daily gain and lowest feed requirement per unit gain, followed by the D♂×(Lw♂×L♀) F₁and H♂×(Lw♂×L♀) F₁♀ matings. The Berkshires and Landraces ranked lowest among the 24 mating groups compared for both of the traits. Males had higher average daily gain than females by about 0.06㎏ and had lower feed requirement by about 0.14. 2 . The three-breed crosses from D♂×(H♂×L♀) F₁♀, D♂×(Lw♂×L♀) F₁♀ and H♂×(Lw♂×L♀) F₁♀ matings reached 90㎏ body weight at younger age than the other groups. The D♂×(H♂×L♀) F₁♀ group reached 90㎏ at younger age than the Landrace by 39 days. The effects of the mating group, year, season and sex were statistically significant for the average daily gain, feed requirement and age at 90㎏ body weight. 3. The dressing percentage and lean meat percentage tended to be higher in H♂×(Lw♂×L♀) F₁♀, H♂×L♀ and H♂×B♀ matings compared to the other mating groups. The effects of the mating group and season were statistically significant, but the effects of the year and sex were not significant. 4. The loin-eye area was largest in the Kw♂×L♀ mating and smallest in the B♂×L♀ mating. Males had higher dressing percentage, higher lean meat percentage and loin-eye area than females. 5. The backfat was thinnest in purebred Hampshire and was thickest in B♂×L♀mating. The effects of the mating group and year were significant, but the effects of the season and sex were not significant. 6. The results obtained in the study suggest that the three-breed crosses from D♂×(H♂×L♀) F₁♀, D♂×(Lw♂×L♀) F₁♀ and H♂×(Lw♂×L♀) F₁♀ matings are superior crossbreds for pork production.

        돼지의 수정란 이식에 관한 연구 1 . 채란시기 및 반복채란이 수정란의 생산에 미치는 영향

        This study was carried out to investigate the effect of collection days of embryos, surgery times by repeated recovery, and number of follicles on the number of embryos recovered, developmental stage and number of transferable embryos in order to provide the basic data for the surgical collection of pig embryos. The results obtained from this study were summarized as follows, 1. The superovulation was induced by PMSG 1.000IU and HCG 500IU on day 15 to 16 of estrus cycle. The average number of embryos collected on day 4, 5 and 6 following HCG injection were 13.1, 17.1 and 12.7, respectively, and recovery rate was 97.8, 96.6 and 81.9%. Embryos collected on day 5 were best in the recovery rate and number of embryos collected. 2. In the developmental stage by recovery days, the percentages of 2-to 16-cell on day 4 morula to blastocyst on day 5 blastocyst to hatched blastocyst on day 6 were 28.2% 38.0% and 61%, respectively. 3, The abnomal rates of embryos collected on day 4, 5 and 6 were 43.6%, 13.9%, and 23.6% respectively. 4. The average number of embryos collected by the no. of` operations for the repeated collection was 19.2, 13.0 and 13.7 in 1st and 2nd surgery. 3rd and 4th and over 5th surgery, respectively. The number of embryos collected was most in 1st to 2nd surgery but the recovery rate of it was slightly lower. The percentages of transferable embryos by repeated operation were 42.2%, 76.9% and 75.9% in 1st and 2nd, 3rd and 4th and over 5th operation respectively, but there were no significant differences in the number of transferable embryos among the operation times. 5. The number of embryos collected from ovaries without unruptured follicle was 16.1 and the recovery rate was 94.7% and the number and the percentages of normal embryos were 12.3 and 74.6% respectively which were higher than those from ovaries with the unruptured follicles.

        돼지의 수정란 이식에 관한 연구 2 . 수태율 및 산자수에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구

        This study was carried out to investigate the effect of days after estrus of recipients, number of corpora lutea. days of embryos after ovulation, degrees of synchrony and number of embryos transfered on the conception rate and litter size to provide the basic data for the sugical embryo transfer to produce excellent pigs. The results obtained were summarized as follows; 1. The conception rate and litter sizes were higher when the embryos were transfered to recipients on day 4 after the estrus(90%, and 6.1 heads) than when transfered on day 3(75% and 5.3 heads). 2. The conception rate and litter size were higher(100% and 7.0 heads) when the number of ovulation was 16-20 than when the number of ovulation was 11-15(75% and 5.7 heads) or more than 21(83.3% and 5. 2 heads). 3. When the fertilized embryos were collected on day 5 and 6, conception rates and litter sizes were 75% and 6.7 heads and 100% and 5.2 heads, respectively. 4. While the litter size was more when the donors came into heat I day earlier than 2 days earlier(6.5 vs 5.6 heads) the conception rate was higher when the donors came into heat 2 days earlier than 1day earlier (66.7 Vs 100%). 5. There was no significant difference in conception rate by the number of transfered embryos(85.7%), while the litter size was more when transfered 15-19 embryos than when transfered 12-14.However, the litter size was not proportional to the number of embryos transfered.

        소의 발정동기화 및 동결수정란 이식에 관한 연구

        This study was conducted to investigate the effects of breed and parity of recipients, grade of frozen-thawed embryos and degree of donor-recipients synchrony on conception rate when the frozen-thawed bovine embryos were transferred to 60 heads of Korean Native cattle (KNC), Holstein and crossbred in Livestock Experiment Station, Rural Development Administration, and nearby large farms. To synchronize the estrus, regularly cycling heifers and cows of 114 heads were injected with 50㎍ of cloprosternol twice 11 days apart. The results obtained from this study were summarized as follows; 1. Cows showed estrus with the range of 2-6 days after the first shot and 2.5-4 days after the second shot. The rate of response was higher in the second shot (82.5%) than the first shot (67.5%). 2. The rate of response to cloprostenol after the first shot was high in crossbred, Holstein and KNC in the order, although no significant differences were noted in the second shot. 3. The overall conception rate was 45.0% and that of Holstein was 52.2% (24/46) and that of KNC was 37.5% (3/8). However none of crossbred was pregnant. 4. The conception rate of heifers (46.9%) was slightly higher than that (42.9%) of cows. 5. The conception rate of cattle transferred with excellent, good and fair embryos were 68.9%, 35.9% and 40.9%, respectively. 6. The conception rate was highest when the recipients began to show estrus 12 hours later than donor did.
