In this paper, VHF(30~230[MHz]) electromagnetic waves radiated from partial discharge(PD) at two-type electrodes in air are measured and the peculiar patterns of their spectra are reported. Also, the polarization and distance characteristics of electromagnetic wave radiated by PD, were investigated. In case the epoxy insulator in inserted, the noise level of radiated electromagnetic waves is 0.6~6.2[dB] higher than the case in air at below 90[MHz]. The frequency spectrum distribution of radiated electromagnetic waves appears different in the whole frequency range according to the arrangement of antenna.

This paper deals with the multiresolution analysis of wavelet transform for partial discharge(PD). Test arrangement is based on the needle-plane electrode system and applied AC high voltage. The measured PD signal was decomposed into "approximations" and "details". The approximation are the high scale, low-frequency components of the PD signal. The details are the low-scale, high frequency components. The decomposition process are iterated to 3 level, with successive approximation being decomposed in turn, so that PD signal is broken down into many lower-resolution components. Through the procedure of signal wavelet transform, signal noise extraction and signal reconstruction, the signal is analyzed to determine the magnitude of PD.

This paper deals with multiresolution analysis of wavelet transform for partial discharge(PD), both corona and surface discharge. Multiresolution analysis was used for performing discrete wavelet transform. PD signals was decomposed into "approximation" and "detail" components until 4 levels by using discrete wavelet analysis. In this paper, daubechies family is adopted for the research of the characteristics of PD signals. The results show that in corona discharge the segment 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 values of defined variable is increased with discharge process, so phase distribution is characterized by 210~330 ranges. In case surface discharge in expoxy insulator inserted, defined variable values is fairly symmetric discharge pattern because coupled both corona and dielectric bounded discharges. We can confirmly discriminate the type of PD source.

In this paper, reduction characteristics of the ac flashover voltage in the horizontal air gap of sphere-sphere and needle-needle electrode system were investigated when the combustion flame was present near the high-voltage electrodes. The reduction characteristics of ac flashover voltage were discussed with the thermal ionization process, the relative air density and the deflection phenomena in the shape of flames that changed by the corona wind and coulomb‘s force. As the results of an experimental, it was found that the reduction of flashover voltages in sphere-sphere system, in comparison with the no-flame case, are 79.9[%] for k=0, 82.9[%] for k=0.5, 87.5[%] for k=1.0, 85.0[%] for h=0[cm], 40.8[%] for h=5[cm] and 28.2[%] for h=9[cm] when ac voltage is applied.

The most of faults in gas insulation of power facilities are caused by partial discharge. Therefore we simulated partial discharge and measured the radiated electromagnetic wave emitted from partial discharge in SF? gas by biconical antenna. This paper describes time delay and electric fields pulse characteristics of radiated electromagnetic waves with distance(1[m], 3[m], 5[m]) between antenna and discharge source.

본 논문은 XLPE(cross-linked polyethylene insulated power Cables)을 절연물로 사용하는 22.9[kV]용 전력케이블에 외부 손상에 의해 발생되는 부분 방전을 모의하였으며, 절연 진단방법 중 하나인 UHF법을 이용하여 부분 방전시 공간으로 전파되는 방사전자파을 EMI, EMC 측정용 BiconiLog 안테나(EMCO 3142)와 스펙트럼 아날라이저를 이용해 측정하는 UHF법을 이용하였다. 본 연구 결과 방전진전과정의 평가가 가능함을 확인하였다. This paper simulated partial discharge caused by 22.9[kV] power cable using XLPE(Peroxide Crosslinkable Polyethylene) insulation having the outside damage. As one of the insulation diagnostic method a radiated electromagnetic waves were measured by an UHF method using a BiconiLog antenna(EMCO-3142) and a spectrum analyzer used to measure EMI, EMC. From results of this study, It was confirmed that discharge Ogress were possible to be estimated by the proposed method.
