IODP Expedition 311에서 채취한 퇴적물 시료들의 TOC 함량은 대부분 1 %미만이고 육지에서 해안으로 갈수록 높은 함량을 보여준다. TOC/TN비는 4에서 10의 범위를 가지고 있으며, 이 값은 대부분의 유기물들이 육성식물 보다는 조류기원임을 보여준다. 반면에 Rock-Eval 분석 열분석결과는 유기물들이 Type III 의 육성식물 기원임을 지시하고, 대부분의 유기물들이 미성숙단계 (immature stage)에 있음을 보여준다. 유기물 기원에 대한 지화학적 지시자들 사이의 불일치를 해결하기위해 유기물의 탄소동위원소 (^{13}C_{org}) 분석을 실시하였다. 분석된 유기물 탄소동위원소 값은 -28.4 %_o,에서 -23.0 %_o의 범위를 가지고 있으며, 이는 유기물들이 식물성 기원보다는 해수 및 담수의 조류가 혼합된 기원이 우세하다는 j것을 지시해준다.

Postoperative rhabdomyolysis with acute renal failure (ARF) is a rare complication of laparoscopic urologic surgery. It is associated with lateral decubitus surgical position, long operative time, and increased body mass. We report a case of a 49-year-old-man with right renal cell carcinoma who underwent a laparoscopic right radical nephrectomy for 7 hours in left decubitus position and was complicated by ARF due to postoperative rhabdomyolysis. Laparoscopic renal surgery is performed in many surgical renal diseases and heightened suspicion may help early recognition of postoperative rhabdomyolysis. Vigorous hydration and hemodialysis are also helpful in treating ARF secondary to rhabdomyolysis.

N/A In early solidification during the continuous casting of steel slabs, the formation of oscillation marks on the surface of slabs was mainly affected by carbon contents and casting conditions. The control of oscillation mark is required for the HCR(Hot Charged Rolling) process because the deep oscillation marks seriously deteriorate the surface qualities of steel slabs. The metallographic study has revealed that the oscillation mark can be classified principally according to the presence or absence of a small `subsurface hook` and the depth of the oscillation marks in the subsurface structure at the basis of individual oscillation marks. The subsurface hook of oscillation marks was either straight or curved. When the amount of overflow was small and the subsurface hook was formed in the top of oscillation marks, the subsurface hook was straight and the oscillation mark was shallow. The oscillation marks without subsurface hook have small early solidification shell and were formed wide. The actual negative strip time(t_(N)) was changed by the effect of meniscus level fluctuation Therefore irregular early solidification shell and oscillation mark were formed.

N/A The pressure of the mold flux acting on the meniscus shell was investigated through the coupling analysis of heat transfer in the mold and fluid flow in the flux caused by the mold oscillation. Finite element method was employed to solve the conservation equation associated with appropriate boundary conditions. As reported by previous workers. the axial pressure is positive on the negative strip time and negative on the positive strip time. A maximum pressure is predicted toward the top of the meniscus shell which has the thin shell arid a maxirnuni value is in proportion to the relative mold oscillation velocity. The relative mold oscillation velocity was changed by the effect of meniscus level fluctuation. Therefore the pressure of the mold flux acting o n the menisctis shell was different each cycle ofthe mold oscillation due to the irregularity of relative mold oscillation velocity
