A natural topological manifold structure of phase tropical hypersurfaces

First, we define phase tropical hypersurfaces in terms of a degeneration data of smooth complex algebraic hypersurfaces in $(\mathbb{C}^*)^n$. Next, we prove that complex hyperplanes are homeomorphic to their degeneration called phase tropical hyperplanes. More generally, using Mikhalkin's decomposition into pairs-of-pants of smooth algebraic hypersurfaces, we show that a phase tropical hypersurface with smooth tropicalization is naturally a topological manifold. Moreover, we prove that a phase tropical hypersurface is naturally homeomorphic to a symplectic manifold.

In this study, orbit determination (OD) simulation for the Korea Pathfinder Lunar Orbiter (KPLO) was accomplished for investigation of the observational arc-length effect using a sequential estimation algorithm. A lunar polar orbit located at 100 km altitude and 90° inclination was mainly considered for the KPLO mission operation phase. For measurement simulation and OD for KPLO, the Analytical Graphics Inc. Systems Tool Kit 11 and Orbit Determination Tool Kit 6 software were utilized. Three deep-space ground stations, including two deep space network (DSN) antennas and the Korea Deep Space Antenna, were configured for the OD simulation. To investigate the arc-length effect on OD, 60-hr, 48-hr, 24-hr, and 12-hr tracking data were prepared. Position uncertainty by error covariance and orbit overlap precision were used for OD performance evaluation. Additionally, orbit prediction (OP) accuracy was also assessed by the position difference between the estimated and true orbits. Finally, we concluded that the 48-hr-based OD strategy is suitable for effective flight dynamics operation of KPLO. This work suggests a useful guideline for the OD strategy of KPLO mission planning and operation during the nominal lunar orbits phase.

In this study, we propose an effective strategy for precise orbital and geodetic parameter estimation using SLR (Satellite Laser Ranging) observations for ILRS AAC (Associate Analysis Center). The NASA/GSFC GEODYN II software and SLR normal point observations of LAGEOS-1, LAGEOS-2, ETALON-1, and ETALON-2 are utilized for precise orbital and geodetic parameter estimation. Weekly-based precise orbit determination strategy is applied to process SLR observations, and Precise Orbit Ephemeris (POE), TRF (Terrestrial Reference Frame), and EOPs (Earth Orientation Parameters) are obtained as products of ILRS AAC. For improved estimation results, selection strategies of dynamic and measurement models are experimently figured out and configurations of various estimation parameters are also carefully chosen. The results of orbit accuracy assessment of POE and precision analysis of TRF/EOPs for each case are compared with those of existing results. Finally, we find an appropriate strategy for precise orbital and geodetic parameter estimation using SLR observations for ILRS AAC.

PURPOSES : The purpose of this study is to disseminate the process of deriving the truck performance curve of Korea’s representative trucks in detail such that the relevant experts can use it in the future when re-selecting the representative trucks and deriving the truck performance curve accordingly. METHODS : To collect relevant data required to derive the truck performance curve, this study used four trucks that implemented the weight/power of the nation’s representative trucks, and conducted a practical driving test on four different upgrade sections. RESULTS : The truck performance curve was derived for each driving position to represent the deceleration and acceleration capabilities of the truck through the actual driving test on the upgrade sections. CONCLUSIONS : The truck performance curve derived from this study indicated that the truck’s deceleration and acceleration capabilities increased as the total weight/power of Korea’s representative trucks improved, and the design of the climbing lane demonstrated that the design method used in this study saved approximately 60% of the construction cost compared to the existing method.
오픈홀로 라이브러리를 활용한 홀로그램 촬영 및 재현 기술

자가간섭 디지털 홀로그래피는 별도의 참조광이 필요 없이 물체광을 나눠 간섭무늬를 만드는 디지털 홀로그래피 방식이다. 자가간섭을 활용한 홀로그램 픽업 시스템은 자연광에서도 홀로그램의 기록이 가능한 장점이 있다. 본고에서는 기하학적 위상렌즈를 활용한 자가간섭계를 통해 디지털 홀로그램을 기록하고, 기록한 홀로그램을 홀로그램 데이터 처리를 위한 오픈소스 라이브러리인 오픈홀로 라이브러리를 활용하여 위상 변조 공간광변조기에 홀로그램을 재현한다.

Nanotechnology is the science and technology that focuses on the understanding and control of matter at nanometer scale where unique phenomena enable novel applications. Nanotechnology deals with the production and application of physical, chemical,and biological systems at scales ranging from individual atoms to submicron dimensions, as well as the integration of the resulting nanostructrures into larger systems. Science and technology in nanotechnology promises breakthroughs in are as such as materials science,nanoelectronics, medicine, healthcare, biotechnology, information technology, and thus having consequences for the quality of human life in near future. It is also widely felt that nanotechnology will be the next revolution in food industry. This article reviews some of the current nanotechnology research that is applicable to food science and technology and projects what can be achieved from the newly emerging field of food nanotechnology.

In tropical geometry, the sum of two numbers is defined as the minimum, and the multiplication as the sum. We learned that dynamic programming in tropical algebraic geometry can be used to find the shortest path in graphs. We have also learned about the Bezout's Theorem, which is a theorem concerning the intersections of tropical plane curves, and the stable intersection principle.

The Artinian point star configuration quotient and the strong Lefschetz property

It has been little known when an Artinian point quotient has the strong Lefschetz property. In this paper, we find the Artinian point star configuration quotient having the strong Lefschetz property. We prove that if $\mathbb X$ is a star configuration in $\mathbb P^2$ of type $s$ defined by forms ($a$-quadratic forms and $(s-a)$-linear forms) and $\mathbb Y$ is a star configuration in $\mathbb P^2$ of type $t$ defined by forms ($b$-quadratic forms and $(t-b)$-linear forms) for $b=\deg(\mathbb X)$ or $\deg(\mathbb X)-1$, then the Artinian ring $R/(I_\mathbb X+I_\mathbb Y)$ has the strong Lefschetz property. We also show that if $\mathbb X$ is a set of $(n+1)$-general points in $\mathbb P^n$, then the Artinian quotient $A$ of a coordinate ring of $\mathbb X$ has the strong Lefschetz property.
