Chemical constituents of fruits, leaves and barks of Acanthopanax senticosus forma inermis were studied. Their fruits have higher contents of crude ash, crude protein, crude fat, fructose and glucose than those of other Acanthopanax species, and contained larger amount of glutamic acid and malic acid among amino acid and organic acid, respectively. The compounds identified from their barks and leaves, were beta-sitosterol and stigmasterol, sesamin, savinin, syringaresinol diglucoside, oleanolic acid, chiisanoside and polyacetylene (C9H10O2, mp. 62-63).

The compounds were isolated from the fruits of Cnidium tachiroei Making and identified by chemical and spectral discussion. The results obtained were summarized as follows. The steroidal compounds from the fruits of Cnidium tachiroei Making were identified as stigmasterol and β-sitosterol. Myristic acid and linoleic acid were identified as free fatty acids. Compound I (yellowish, needle crystal, C_(16)H<sub>14</sub>O₄, mp 99∼101˚) was proved to be imperatorin which is one of the furanocoumarins. Compound II and III were suggested as coumarin series.

Axillary bud explants from 3-year-old seedlings of Forsythia saxatilis N., rare and endangered species in Korea, were cultured on Murashige and Skoog`s medium. The effect of various cytokinins (BAP, kinetin, and zeatin) at the different concentration(0.2, 0.5 and 1.0㎎/ℓ) was tested. Although an apparent shoot proliferation was not observed, zeatin showed slight promotional effect on normal shoot and leaf development. Both shoots and adventive roots could be induced simultaneously when the explants were cultured on the medium with kinetin, but adventive rooting was gradually reduced according as BAP and zeatin concentrations increased. Axillary shoot growth was promoted by the etiolation treatment. Shoot proliferation has been maintained more than three years with consecutive subculture. Rooted plantlets were successfully acclimatized in the artificial soil mixture and showed normal growth after transplantation into field.

The objective of this paper is to analyze heat and mass transfer characteristics of LiCl aqueous solution for the plate type dehumidification system with grooves on the plate surface. The solution wettability and distribution increased with having the grooves on the plate surface. The effects of process air and solution inlet conditions on the dehumidification performance were studied in this study.
