This study investigates shareholder return policy focused on peer effect and payout rigidity under global financial environment. The peer effect and payout rigidity factors are hypothesized in this paper for explanations why firms pay dividends and repurchase stocks in major country’s financial market. We examine peer effect and payout rigidity on the firms’ dividend and stock repurchase policies within the industry groups defined by Korean Standard Industry Classification and Korean Stock Exchange Industry Classification. We collect the data from January 3, 2006 to December 31, 2015 and test whether both peer effect and payout rigidity can be supported in Korean financial market using different models respectively. The results show that the peer effects are not found in Korean market but the payout rigidity is significant in a firm’s payout decision making. It means that the Korean firms more consider payout rigidity than their peers’ financial behaviors in making shareholder return policy. Also, this rigidity became more apparent after the financial crisis. Several implications are made compared to other country.

Background : The sympathetic investigations during thoracic sympathectomy are essential to an adequate sympathectomy that will lead to sufficient and lasting relief of palmar hyperhidrosis. The measurement of palmar skin temperature has been used as an indicator of success of transcutaneous chemical thoracic sympathectomy. We measured intraoperative palmar skin temperature to know whether it can be used as a same purpose in the endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy under general anesthsia. Methods : Fifteen patients (18 to 25 years old) with palmar hyperhidrosis underwent endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy under general anesthesia. The palmar skin temperature was measured with a skin probe of a thermometer applied on the both index finger tips. The palmar skin temperature was monitored continuously from the beginning of anesthesia to the complete arousal. Results : The palmar skin temperature increased significantly by about 3oC just after induction. There was no significant difference in the palmar skin temperature between just before sympathectomy and soon after sympathectomy during the endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy. Conclusions : Intraoperative measurement of palmar skin temperature can not indicate a definite sympathectic denervation during the endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy under general anesthesia. Master-Slave 방식을 적용한 가정용PV Charging Module 개발에 관한 연구

ESS의 중요성은 네트워크 신뢰성 저하 및 재생 가능 에너지원의 확장으로 인한 전력 수요의 안정화로 인해강조되었다. ESS (Energy Storage System)는 남은 전력을 저장하고 전력 수요를 충족시키기 위해 필요할 때 이를 사용하며 주로 태양 광 및 풍력과 연계하여 ESS 시스템을 구축한다. 본 논문에서는 낮은 일사량에 효과적인 Master-Slave 방법을 이용한 가정용 PV 충전 모듈을 제안한다. 모듈을설계 한 후 고속 MPPT 알고리즘이 적용되어 PV 모듈의 비선형 출력 특성에서 최대 출력을 생성한다. PV 충전 모듈의 입력에 대한 평균 전력 값은 296.90 W, 출력 전력은 289.60 W로 평균 97.54 %의 전력변환효율을 보인다.

This research was performed to investigate the effect of thermo-mechanical cycling (TMC) treatment on the shape memory effect (SME) of Fe-10Mn-9Cr-8Ni-5Si (wt.%) alloy. Various TMC parameters were systematically changed to study the influence of individual parameter on the SME, and to find the optimum processing condition for the best SME of the alloy. The amount of prestrain and the annealing time were the important parameters for controlling the SME, and the best shape recovery was observed at the condition of 4% prestrain and 873K/60min. annealing. It was ascertained by microstructural observation that the improvement of the SME was primarily due to the introduction of a number of defect structure such as stacking faults and dislocations. These defects increased yield stress for γ matrix, and probably acted as a favorable nucleation site for ε martensite formation.

Background : There have been unexpected cases of failed alcoholic sympathectomy, even though satisfactory effects had been obtained in test blocks with a mixture of contrast media and local anesthetics. It was plausible to suspect the contrast media as a cause of the failure of alcoholic sympathectomy. So, the purpose of this study was to evaluate whether the contrast media can hinder the action of alcohol in alcoholic sympathectomy or not. Methods : In Sprague - Dawley rats (200 300g), thoracic paravertebral sympathetic chains were exposed and planned regimens were injected in these regions. The rats were divided randomly into seven groups, group C (control group), group D (administration of dye just after exposure), group D-A30 (administration of dye just after exposure, administration of alcohol 30 min. after dye), group A30 (administration of alcohol 30 min. after exposure), group D-A0 (administration of dye just after exposure, administration of alcohol just after dye), group D-A60 (administration of dye just after exposure, administration of alcohol 60 min. after dye) and group D-A90 (administration of dye just after exposure, administration of alcohol 90 min. after dye). Degrees of cytoplasmic contraction were evaluated in the ganglion cells of each member of the experimental groups. Results : The contraction ratios of cytoplasms in group D-A30 and A30 were greater than that of group C and D. The contraction ratios of cytoplasm in group D-A60 and D-A90 were greater than those of group D-A0 and D-A30. Conclusions : According to our results, the contrast media seems to hinder the action of alcohol in alcoholic sympathectomy. (Korean J Anesthesiol 1999; 37: 472∼477)

Microstructure and fracture behavior of the squeeze cast Mg-Al-Zn-Si alloys (AZ91-Si, AZ51-Si, AZ51 Si-Ca) have been investigated in the present study. To clarify the fracture behavior, in-situ fracture test and fractographic observation were conducted. The higher Al content promoted formation of the polygonal type Mg2Si, but resulting in reduction of the ductility due to increase in amount of Mg17Al12 and to presence of coarse Mg2Si. The lower Al content favored formation of the chinese script type Mg2Si which promoted the brittle fracture along the Mg2Si/matrix interface. AZ51-Si alloy had a higher ductility than AZ91-Si, because a number of slip lines were developed inside grains and cracks were blunted by matrix. The addition of Ca eliminated the chinese script type Mg2Si. Instead, fine Mg2Si particles were present in a polygonal shape, resulting in improvement of mechanical properties.
