        교사들이 이해하는 인문교육의 개념 탐색

        The purpose of this study was to understand teachers’ concepts of humanities education. The author interviewed five teachers who provide humanities education in practice, or teach subjects related to humanities. The study results showed that the teachers defined humanities education in terms of five concepts: humanistic reflection, empathy, integration, establishment of thoughts, and life direction. Taking these terms in context and considering their correlations and directions, unique perspectives on humanities education emerge. The teachers defined knowledge that students can relate to as the right content for humanities education, among various kinds of knowledge that lead to humanistic reflection. They perceived a comprehensive understanding of one subject or content in varied dimensions and contexts as the major method of humanities education. As the objective of humanities education, they identified setting a life direction and determining how to live a life, through conversation, discussion, and writing. These results demonstrate that teachers’ concepts of humanities education are educationally consistent, student centered, and practical. This study contributes to the communication between policy, theory, and classroom practice and informs the actual implementation of a unified humanities education for all life stages. Further philosophical exploration of humanities education is required to establish concrete guidelines for its practice. 본 연구의 목적은 인문교육에 대해 교사들이 어떤 개념을 지니고 있는지 이해하는 것이다. 이를 위해 연구자는 실제 인문학 교육을 하거나 인문학 관련 교과를 가르치는 교사 5명을 면담하였다. 연구 결과, 교사들은 인문학적 성찰, 공감, 통합, 생각의 정립, 삶의 방향 등 다섯 가지 개념들로 인문교육을 정의하고 있었다. 이들 용어들은 그 자체만 보면 그리 특별하지 않으나 사용되는 맥락과 이들 사이의 관련성, 지향하는 방향 등을 살펴보면 인문교육에 대한 특별한 관점을 발견할 수 있다. 교사들은 인문학적 성찰을 이끄는 지식 중에서도 학생들이 공감할 수 있는 지식을 인문교육의 내용으로 규정하였고, 특정 교과를 넘어 하나의 주제나 내용을 다양한 차원과 맥락에서 통합적으로 이해하도록 하는 것을 인문교육의 주된 방법으로 인식하였다. 나아가 대화와 토론, 글쓰기를 통해 자기 생각을 정립함으로써 어떻게 살아야 하는지 삶의 방향을 정하도록 하는 것을 인문교육의 목표로 생각하였다. 이러한 연구 결과는 인문교육에 대한 교사들의 개념이 교육적으로 단일하고 학생중심적이며 실천적임을 보여 준다. 이에 본 연구는 생애주기별 인문교육의 본격적인 시행을 앞두고 정책과 이론과 현장의 소통에 기여함으로써 인문교육의 개념을 합의하는 데 이바지할 것으로 기대한다. 나아가 이를 계기로 인문교육의 방향성 있는 실천과 구체적 지침 마련을 위해 인문교육에 대한 교육철학적 탐구가 요청된다.

        Double Object Constructions: Indirect Objects as PP Goals

        This paper delves into some interesting aspects of double object constructions (DOC) in English and proposes the structure of DOC in terms of the applicative phrase (Bruening, 2010). I combine the DOC and the so-called prepositional dative construction into one unified construction where IO is projected as PP in the specifier of the applicative phrase either on the left or on the right. The head of PP may be null or overt; if it is null via P incorporation, it is disguised as NP. If it is overt, however, it is realized as PP either on the left or on the right of DO. The postulation of PP along with P incorporation can provide a principled account of an asymmetry in the passive of IO and DO in DOCs. The passive of DO in DOCs freely occurs, whereas that of IO in DOCs is highly restricted across ditransitive verbs among native speakers. The account in terms of PP Goal attributes this asymmetry to the existence of P, null or overt, hindering IO to be passivized out of PP, which is treated as a barrier in passivization in English.         모호성과 명료성의 광고 표현방법에 따른 광고와 브랜드회상 차이에 대한 연구

        최근에 급증하고 있는 모호성 광고는 기존에 많이 사용되어온 명료성 광고에 비해 소비자의 주의를 집중시키고 정보처리의 동기를 강화시키기 때문에 효과에도 차이가 있을 것이라는 전제아래 본 연구를 실시하였다. 이에 본 연구는 모호성과 명료성의 광고표현 방법에 따른 광고와 브랜드회상 차이 및 두 가지 표현방법의 선호유형에 따른 광고와 브랜드회상 차이를 검증하는 것이 목적이다. 연구결과 모호성과 명료성의 광고표현 방법에 따라 광고회상과 브랜드회상에는 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 광고회상 검증에서 모호성 광고의 글 또는 그림을 정확하게 기억하고 답변한 응답이 명료성 광고에 비해 높게 나타났으며 브랜드회상 분석에서도 명료성 광고보다 모호성 광고에서 브랜드를 더 정확하게 기억하고 있는 것으로 검증되었다. 광고 표현방법 선호에서는 명료성 광고를 선호하는 응답자가 더 많았으나 선호유형에 따른 광고회상의 차이는 보이지 않았다. 그러나 브랜드회상에서는 선호비율이 높았던 명료성 광고의 브랜드회상이 더 정확한 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구에서는 모호성, 명료성 광고의 creative수준을 고려하지 않아 일부 한계점이 존재하나, 향후 이러한 부분을 보완하여 상황과 타깃에 적합한 표현방법을 활용한다면 효과적인 광고 전략 수립에 도움이 될 수 있을 것이다. This study was conducted under the assumption that the recently growing ambiguous advertisements attract consumers attention and strengthen motivation of information processing more than the existing clear advertisements and would produce different effects. Hence, this study aimed to verify differences between advertisement and brand recall according to advertisement from methods of ambiguity and clear, differences in brand recall, and the preference type over the two expression methods. Based on the results from this study, it has been learned that there is a difference between advertisement recall and brand recall according to expression methods of ambiguity and clear. Verification of advertisement recall revealed that correct memory of answer to the texts or pictures of ambiguous advertisements was higher than those of clear advertisements. Analysis of brand recall verified that the brand was more correctly remembered with ambiguous, than clear, advertisements. In preference of advertisement expression method, there were more respondents preferring clear advertisements but there was no difference in advertisement recall based on preference types. However, brand recall was more correct with clear advertisements whose preference rate was higher. This study has not considered the level of creativeness in ambiguous and clear advertisements and there may be certain limits. If the limits are observed and expression methods more appropriate to circumstances and targets are applied, this study will be helpful to establish more effective advertisement strategies.

        The Perceptual Patterns of Arguments andAdjuncts by Korean EFL Learners

        This paper delves into some grammatical aspects of arguments and adjuncts and examines how Korean EFL learners perceive them with respect to the predicate. I have illustrated some tests and criteria in order to distinguish between the two sentential constituents. It is noted, however, that this distinction is not straightforward and fails to reach an agreed consensus on the precise definition of the two. In this paper, I try to attest to their working characteristics from the perspective of EFL learners. To this end, I took a survey among 38 Korean EFL learners to examine the perceptual patterns of arguments and adjuncts. The subjects were given two tasks: a grammatical judgement task (Task 1) and a sentence completion task (Task 2). The findings of the survey reveal that arguments play a more vital role than adjuncts in affecting grammaticality judgment in sentences in Task 1. Arguments are also seen to contribute more than adjuncts to the completion of sentences in Task 2. Although arguments are more contributory to the well-formedness of a sentence, adjuncts are observed to have their own shares of contribution to it.

        교양 성서 과목의 효과적인 운영을 위한 연구― 한남대학교의 사례를 중심으로

        Based on the analysis of a survey conducted at Hannam University, the author makes suggestions as to how to improve the Bible course offered in Christian universities. Of 126 students surveyed, 80 answered that they had no anticipation before the beginning of the class. However, at the end of the semester, there was a significant change in their attitude towards Christianity. It turns out that the instructor's unbiased stance on religiously sensitive issues, the application of theories used in other fields of humanities to the Bible, and the use of various multimedia resources contributed to the increased satisfaction with the class. The author argues that the following should be taken into consideration in order to improve the overall quality of the course: (1) Converting students to Christianity should not be the aim of the Bible course in Christian universities; (2) The class must be academic in nature; (3) The course should include the discussion of some controversial issues of modern society such as suicide, death with dignity, death penalty, homosexualism, transgender, and creationism versus evolution theory; (4) It is desirable to have higher percentage of full-time faculty in the teaching staff; (5) Separate classes must be offered to Christians/non-Christians; (6) It is recommended that all instructors should use the same textbook; and (7) A class size of less than 50 students would make the class more effective. 한남대학교의 교양필수과목 ‘현대인과 성서’를 다년간 가르친 저자는 학생들의 설문조사를 통해 과목을 개선할 수 있는 방안들을 제안하고 있다. 국내의 전체 사립대학교들 중에서 사분의 일이 기독교 대학이고, 각 기독교대학들은 대부분 성서와 관련된 과목을 교양과목으로 운영하고 있으므로, 본 연구는 국내 대학의 전반적인 교양교육의 질적 향상과도 무관하지 않다. 126명의 학생들을 대상으로 설문 조사를 바탕으로 본 논문의 저자는 (1) 수강생의 다수가 비기독교인인 점을 감안하여 과목의 목표를 그에 맞추어 설정할 것, (2) 강의의 수준을 비기독교인 학생의 수준에 맞출 것, (3) 현대사회의 여러 문제들에 대한 논의를 포함할 것, (4) 전임교수의 비율을 늘릴 것, (5) 학생들의 종교와 수준에 따라 심화반을 설치할 것, (6) 모든 강사들이 교과서 중심의 강의를 통하여 과목의 통일성을 추구할 것, (7) 효과적인 수업을 위하여 수강인원을 줄이고, 학과보다는 대학 단위로 반을 편성할 것, (8) 강사 워크숍을 통하여 과목 운영의 노하우를 공유할 것, (9) 성서를 활용한 학제간 과목 개설 등을 제시하고 있다.

        고대 이스라엘 종교에서 피의 다양한 기능 및 종교사회적 배경

        This essay examines various functions of blood in ancient Israel (e.g. apotropaic function, blood as life, blood as ritual detergent, covenant blood, and blood as God`s beverages) and seeks to identify and explain the rationale for such usages of blood. While blood was not significant in Mesopotamia where the presentation of the offering was the focus of the cult, blood played an important role in ancient Israelite religion. Deuteronomy and the Priestly traditions developed Israel`s unique sacrificial system based on the idea “blood is life” (Gen 9:4; Deut 12:23), and the Holiness Code went even further and ascribed expiatory function to blood (Lev 17:11). The priestly group tried to maintain the system of hierarchy and acquire economic gains by means of blood rituals and various regulations regarding the manipulation and disposal of blood. It is hoped that further studies will investigate the symbolism of blood in Korean churches as well as in the New Testament.

        고대 이스라엘의 달신 숭배와 그 배경

        The moon is the most prominent luminary in the night skies. This gives the moon a special place in Mesopotamian myth and ritual. Major time periods and holidays were set to the phases of the moon, the new, the quarter, and the full moons, and the king participated in the associated festivals along with the priests and the public. Accordingly, the moon-god enjoyed a high-ranking position in the Mesopotamian pantheon. Some iconographic representations show that the moon god was worshiped in ancient Israel, too. They include the stele found at Hazor containing the symbol of a lunar deity in low relief with two human hands raised below the symbol, the bull-headed figure in a stele found at Bethsaida, and stamp seals with various lunar symbols with Israelite names, etc. Biblical data condemning lunar cult mostly stem from the late pre-exilic period or thereafter, such as the Deuteronomistic texts and Jeremiah, which indicates that the cult of the moon became very popular during the 7th century BCE and onwards. Archaeology essentially reveals the same picture. The vast majority of seals with astral symbols originate from the period between 730 and 630 BCE. Although the Assyrians did not impose religious obligations upon their vassals, it is likely that the imperial presence of the Assyrians in Palestine prompted the kings of Judah to voluntarily adopt the Assyro-Aramean religious practices. And this may have contributed to the resurgence of the worship of the lunar deity in Judah during the 7th centuries BCE.
